Stefania's place is right in the middle of all the action. It was very easy to walk to all the points of interest, whether it was the local market or the ocean front. We just simply began walking and ended up in all the right places. The area was safe, we walked to the oceanfront after the sunset. It was really busy there, filled with locals, food vendors, kid's playground was full of little ones playing. The price was right for the simple and clean place to stay in. Tastefully decorated with local art. Stefania was quick to respond to our questions before and during the stay and Rama was available to help us carry our luggage to the apartment and to get us set up with a taxi to the airport.

Fantastic villa. It’s not often you get to stay in en enormous house that used to be part of a Sultan’s place. Even after reading all the positive reviews it exceeded expectations. The house is an experience itself and Rafael as a host is very easy to communicate with, always responsive and gave us great tips. If you want to treat yourself to exceptional experience while in Stone Town. Highly recommend!

Our 5 day stay at Zuhura’s Airbnb was outstanding! From the start, Zuhura was incredibly kind, friendly, and always quick to respond to any questions. The place itself was immaculate and wonderful. It’s central location was perfect, putting us within easy walking distance of many beautiful spots, malls and restaurants making the area convenient and enjoyable. Unique Stone Town Retreat with Large Balcony & AC

The house has a spacious room and living room with a stylish design. The pictures and descriptions are exactly the same. Communication with the host was good, and Eddie came out to pick me up when I arrived. I was also able to leave my luggage on the first floor after checking out. It was a little disappointing that there was no elevator, but it was okay because it was hard to find an elevator in Stone Town. The best part was that there was a huge bottle of water, so I didn't have to go out to buy water. (I don't remember exactly, but I think it was over 15L.) And even in the extremely hot and humid summer weather of Zanzibar, the air conditioner and ventilation fan in each room kept me cool. We enjoyed our stay very much, Thank you!

A beautiful apartment with a perfect blend of old charm and modern touches. The furniture and accents were so beautiful. The stay was very comfortable and we had everything we needed. Great location with everything within walking distance. The stairs to get up to the apartment looked intimidating but doable after you get your luggage up the first time! Would stay here again, it was a stunning first impression of Stone town with a balcony overlooking the amazing architecture of the area! Thank you!

Wir haben - lange ist es her - selbst 2 Jahre in Zanzibar gelebt und es jetzt wieder besucht. Dafür war die Unterkunft perfekt: sehr geräumig, ausgestattet mit ausgewählten Antiquitäten, komformtabel, Privatsphäre über den Dächern, für zanzibarische Verhältnis mehr als herausragend. Die Lage kann für einen Besuch von Stonetown nicht besser sein: zentral, alles zu Fuß erreichbar. Wir hatten einen Mietwagen, den wir direkt vor der Haustür parken konnten. Zur Sicherheit empfiehlt es sich, vorab mit dem Verwalter vor Ort zu klären, dass man keine Strafzettel bekommt. Wir werden diese Unterkunft bei unserem nächsten Besuch garantiert wieder buchen.

The flat is part of Stone Town but located close enough to main road that getting to it by taxi is sufficiently easy. It was very clean, everything functioned perfectly, and if we had any problems, it was easy to communicate them (we did not have any problems!). We would definitely recommend the flat.

Mein Aufenthalt bei Noreen war wirklich super. Die Kommunikation im Vorhinein war einfach und sie hat mir ein Bajaji geschickt, was mich von der Fähre abgeholt hat. Das Airbnb war echt toll. Der schöne Flur lädt zum Quatschen mit den anderen Gästen ein mit denen man sich die Küche teilt, die wirklich sehr gut ausgestattet ist mit einem Standmixer, Milchschäumer, Toaster, alles was das Herz begehrt. Noreen ist sehr aufmerksam und immer für einen kurzen Plausch zu haben. Ich habe mich als allein reisende Frau hier sehr wohlgefühlt

We stayed at Eta's Airbnb last year and came back again because we liked it so much!!! The A/C in the bedrooms is great, I love the location, the decor and little extras are thoughtful and we love that the suite is on the main floor. The only downside this year was, the neighbours upstairs were louder than last year with a screaming toddler who was often up by 5:00 am. The master bedroom had windows facing the courtyard and it was very loud. I would still stay at this suite again though!!! Thanks Romain and Eta... see you next year!!!

Highly recommend!!! Salum's rooftop apartment is conveniently located in Stone Town and very spacious. Exactly what we wanted. The apartment is across 3 levels, so guests need to be mindful of the stairs, but no issues for our family of 5. We travelled in January, so the air-conditioning in the twin room and fans in all bedrooms was a welcome relief. Although we didn't need the service, Salum was also able to organise local tours. Wish we stayed longer! Fantastic accommodation. thanks Salum!

I had a wonderful stay! The location is a bit farther from Stone Town, but that also means it's closer to the beach, which was nice 🏝️ The breakfast was excellent, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The rooms are a good size, and overall, this is an amazing place to stay! The only downside is that the pool isn’t lit in the evenings, and the sunbeds are a bit worn out but overall I enjoyed my stay 🫶🏼 Would definitely recommend!

Check-in: Other than Salum, I spoke with two more people (the manager and the caretaker). However, this was no bother at all. Every person was introduced at the time they were needed. Neighborhood: I was nervous at first as it looked like we will have too many interactions with the neighbors. I was so wrong. The neighbors were chatty and very helpful pointing us in the right directions, etc. We even tried the deep fried cassava from a vendor on the same street. Nice lady and delicious food! Overall: Everything went well. Exactly what we wanted travelling as a family. Finally: I already recommended the listing to some relatives that will be travelling to Zanzibar next month.

Great stay at Najmas house! Great location to visit all the historical tourists sites located in stone town. We stayed with two children and Najmas was the best choice, the pool and pool table were a massive hit, and was used every day. Nothing was too much to ask of Najma, she was lovely and welcoming and very helpful in organising our transfers from the airport with her driver. The house was spotless, equipped with all cooking utensils, towels, washing machine and most of all amazing aircon that was much appreciated as it was very hot. The location felt very safe and as a family we did not feel worried about walking around the back lanes of stone town, despite reading some online reviews that warned of muggers and pickpockets. We would highly recommend visiting Najmas house, it so cosy and close to everything we wanted to do and see. Thank you for a great stay!!

I was on a business trip, it was close to the airport. An ideal place for this kind of visit. Really clean, probably the best Airbnb for this price I have found in Zanzibar town. Really nicely set up, very clean, has everything you need. Recommended.

We had a late arrival and an early departure. Our host was very supportive making sure that in both cases we had someone he knew and trusted to pick us up and take us to and from the airport. The house is walking distance to everything in stone town and the neighborhood is safe, we had no fears walking back home in the dark. The AC was a lifesaver!

We enjoyed our stay at Hamadi’s flat in StoneTown. The flat is lovely with fans and air conditioning in the bedrooms. The flat itself was clean both inside and out anD really easy to find. The caretaker was just as responsive as the host. Our flight was delayed but the host was gracious. We found some cold water and a new box of tea bags in the kitchen- we found this to be extremely thoughtful. We also received clear directions for a place we needed to go early next morning. Hamadi connected us to others who took us on the Spice tour- which we really enjoyed. StoneTown is a beautiful place and everything is within a walking distance, all the restaurants, the beach, Forodhani gardens, the Ferry. On checkout, we had a few hours before we had to go to the airport, and our luggage was stored for us- allowing us to enjoy a few last minutes on the town. The wireless was reliable. Thank you Hamadi. You received us well, and our holiday went very well.

Die Villa und ihr Garten sind äußerst liebevoll gestaltet. Dank der tollen Restaurierung und Gestaltung von Oliver und Szilvia strahlt das Haus seine Historie (Palast der Prinzessin Salme-Emily Ruete) förmlich aus. Hinzu kommt die fürsorgliche und liebe Art von Szilvia, die unseren Aufenthalt so angenehm, wie möglich machte. Ihre landestypische Küche war klasse, zumal man sich hier am Ort nur schlecht selbst versorgen kann. Das Zimmer der Prinzessin (Suite) bietet einen sagenhafte Blick auf das Meer und das Treiben der dortigen Fischer. Das Bett ist sehr bequem, was in Sansibar nicht immer so ist... Alles in allem eine ganz einmalige Erfahrung und ein echtes AirBnB, weil es ein privates Anwesen ist. Hilfreich und auch sehr sympathisch war Ahmed, der von dort aus unsere Fahrten zum Airport gemacht hat, aber auch Touren aller Art anbietet. Silke und Burkhard

The place was good, in the midst of Stone Town, and had plenty of space. Bathrooms were useable, the beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. The only challenge was the stairs that were steep and needed attention when going up and down. Lovely neighbours and the people running the place were quick to respond and helpful. We locked our key in and it was a quick fix. If you want a good place outside of the tourist usual this could be it.

Super Lage, super Kommunikation und sogar gratis Pick-Up von der Fährstation. Überraschend ruhige Wohnung und wunderschöne Terasse. Einzig die Küche war wirklich sehr klein und mehr für kalte Speisen eingerichtet.. Würden sofort wieder kommen - Danke!

I enjoyed my stay! It was really good and the host was helpful and collaborative. I got to know a lot about Zanzibar and even had a Karaoke night at the place😄! What can I say? Authentic African hospitality!

Ishaq’s Luhasa Apartment was a very nice place to stay. Two large bedrooms and a dining area, plus a good size kitchen. It’s in a great location right in Stonetown. Ishaq is a very nice host and always responded very quickly if we contacted him, plus he reached out to us to see how we were doing. One drawback was some neighbors seem to have a dinner party or something every night from about midnight to 3 AM which was quite loud. Hopefully they can be asked to quiet down. Otherwise, the stay was great. Accommodations, location, price, and host, all excellent!

great place to stay, located in the heart of the stone town area, 10min walk to Livingstone beach area. My only criticism would be the steep stairs leading to the room. it personally was not an issue for me, and would not be an issue for most people...but could be an issue if you are an elderly person or have mobility issues. would definitely stay here again.

Wir verbrachten unsere letzte Nacht vor dem Heimflug bei Yusuph und können das uneingeschränkt empfehlen! Die Kommunikation war perfekt, extrem zuvorkommend, höflich und hilfsbereit - er hat uns sogar abends ungefragt Wasser besorgt als wir zu wenig hatten! Yusuph hat sich außerdem um unseren Transport zum Flughafen mitten in der Nachr gekümmert, einen Fahrer vermittelt und persönlich sichergestellt, dass wir wach sind. Trotzdem war er nie aufdringlich, besser kann es wirklich nicht laufen. Das Apartment hat alles, was man braucht, man teilt sich Bad und Küche mit anderen Bewohnern, die Lage ist sehr gut zur Erkundung der Stadt geeignet (Restaurants direkt nebenan). Es gibt eine Klimaanlage, neben der Wohnung ist ein Weg, auf dem man nachts Menschen hören kann, wir hatten aber keine Lärmprobleme. Danke Yusuph!
