You'll love the location of the house and the private setting. Lots of trees surrounding house that sits on 2 acres. We are in a quiet and peaceful community. Get away to a house in the woods but have the lake nearby. Close to State Park and Wisp. Have a fire, sit on the decks and enjoy a good book, play cornhole in the yard. Lots for everyone to do! Deep Creek Lake One-of-a-kind 30 acre retreat!

Bracken Lodge is a custom-built log home with over 4,000 sq ft of finished living and entertaining space. The logs were dead standing timber that were repurposed as part of a salvage program from Yellowstone National Park in Montana. Every spruce log was transported east and then hand-hewn and set to create this luxurious unique vacation retreat. Sky Valley private beach is within 15 min walk, the neighborhood has marina area to launch kayaks or boats. Lake access is located along the banks of Piney Point Road. Motor boats are not allowed to be launched by guests in Sky Valley. Close to restaurants, Deep Creek State Park, Wisp ski resort.

This was the perfect spot for a Valentine’s Day weekend getaway. There were easy-to-follow instructions for check-in and check-out, a very comfortable living space, and it was nice and secluded. The hot tub was clean and ready to use, there were plenty of video games and board games to choose from in the basement, and it’s only a 5-minute stroll downhill to the lake. *Be prepared for the weather and heed the warning about the road conditions if you’re staying in the winter months. Pack enough supplies to last the duration of your stay unless you plan on doing some extra driving.

We had a great stay. The house had everything we needed and matched the photos well. Our only hang up was that there was a blizzard the night before we left and the roads around the home aren’t plowed well or salted. I would definitely recommend 4 wheel drive and snow tires!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Hermitage. We are very familiar with the area. We have a family home one block away & have outgrown that home for an annual family long weekend, thus my husband and I now need to rent a home to accommodate that issue. We were 5 adults, 2 toddlers & a 1 month-old baby. The home was spacious & we were able to spread out. It was nicely appointed & the descriptions of things provided and things you should bring was helpful & accurate. We enjoyed all of the games provided. Came in handy on a rainy day. Tons of water toys for the lake were excitedly found by our 2.5 year old granddaughter. She loved playing with some of them at the lake. The deck is so spacious & we enjoyed spending time out there after the rain let up. We are a very active family & enjoyed walking to the sandy beach & all around Sky Valley and Thousand Acres...such a lovely location & very close to our hearts (we've been coming since the 90's). We will rent this home again next year!

Very pleased with the stay. House is spacious, comfortable and well organized - especially the kitchen. So nice to have good cooking equipment. We also loved the relatively remote location - lots of trees while being close to the lake. Worked well for two families given the 2 master bedrooms on different floors. We will be back!
