In our garden, there is a traditional Japanese architectural storehouse (a building for safely storing household goods, merchandise, etc.). We renovated a warehouse into a residence. It is a building that very few people build today. Meals are not included. Cooking is not allowed. There is a sink, microwave, toaster, electric kettle, and fridge. There is a washing machine (free) (no dryer) The bathroom is a shower room (no bathtub) This is a private rental for one group per day. It is completely separate from our house. Privacy is secured. There is nothing shared with other guests, such as showers or toilets. About 9 minutes on foot from JR Shingu Station. 1-minute walk to FamilyMart (24-hour store) There are also Japanese style pubs within walking distance where you can eat fresh sashimi, sushi, and Shingu's specialty, mehari sushi, so you won't have any trouble finding something to eat. (The shops close earlier than in the city) We have 6 bicycles for rent. (free)　 Parking for up to 2 cars is available in front of the gate (free of charge on the premises). Shingu is located in the middle of Kumano City, Nachikatsuura Town, and Hongu, so you can use this as a base to tour the World Heritage Sites.

Limited to one group per day, Guest House Agai is convenient for walking the Kumano Kodo and playing in the river. You can experience country life.

Guest House Agae is a renovated traditional house that can only accommodate one group at a time. It is in a very convenient location, about 550 m (about 7 minutes on foot) to Kumano Kodo and Kinkou Oji, a supermarket (A-COOP), a bus stop (Kodo Aruki no Sato Chikatsuyu), and restaurants (Shoji Teahouse and Tororo-ya). The owner is a local Kumano Kodo guide, so we will do our best to accommodate your questions and advice about walking the Kumano Kodo, as well as pick-up and drop-off when you need it. We can also provide personal guides, so please let us know. Prices do not include meals. Mikiura Guesthouse

Mikiura village is surrounded by the clear blue sea and natural green mountains, and located close to the World Heritage of "Kumano Kodo" You'll enjoy real Japan such as rural life experience, quiet time and beautiful nature. Guesthouse is a typical old Japanese house, not like a resort Hotel or Ryokan for business. Reservation start from 2 person / 2 nights minimum. We have no meal service since corona pandemic 2020. We only take one reservation everyday so house is yours to use privately.

Stay in a Novel. A retreat next to World Heritage

Our house is called Kamikura-Hideaway. It is a small 50-year-old house located at the foot of Kamikura Shrine. Contemporary artist Fulbrn revived it as the art piece "Narrative Space." Since this house once served as a geologist's hideaway, bits of history are scattered throughout the building. Our uniqueness has even been featured in the travel media AFAR, reflecting our commitment to a memorable guest experience. We hope you will enjoy touching someone's story "floating" around the room.

1 minute walk from Shingu Station. 2 minutes from the bus stop. It is a Japanese-style house with a small Japanese courtyard. You can try on valuable samurai armor, helmets, and bridal gowns (kimono)for free. The house is reserved for a group of 3 or more people per day. Please relax as if you were at home. We usually accept up to 8 people, but we can accommodate up to 10 people on request. There is a convenience store in front of the house, which is very convenient.
