Beachfront vacation rentals in Mathews County

The stay was great and we were happy to spend another short vacation at the camper. The wifi was a great addition and repairs to the stairs made it easier to access.

We loved our visit to Cape Charles! This Airbnb was the perfect place for us and we were pleasantly surprised with the fended in backyard. The space was just a described and fit our needs perfectly. The fenced in back yard was perfect for our pups and the neighborhood was friendly and so peaceful! The walk to the beach was easy and the local shops and restaurants were fun as well! We hope to be back soon!

'A diamond in the ruff'. Our first AirBnB and we absolutely loved the cabin. Had everything we needed & very clean. We had wonderful weather, nice breeze off the water. Fish were biting. Very quiet . A great getaway cabin. Our hostess Lorena was great, checked on us to see if we needed anything. Well stocked kitchen. Thank You Lorena!

We absolutely loved the stay at Janie’s place! It was great and such a short walk to the beach. The beach wagon, chairs, and umbrellas were a nice touch and saved us from having to bring our own! There is also a propane and charcoal grill available for use, which is amazing. We look forward to booking our next trip to Cape Charles here, hopefully sooner rather than later! We have heard Christmas time is beautiful!

Our multi-generational family loved our two weeks at Big Bay. The house is well-appointed and comfortable, and the beach, which you can see from the living room, dining room, and kitchen, is stunning. Water toys (paddle boards, floats, PFDs, chairs, etc.) are available in the garage under the house. There have been updates to the deck since the photos were taken - the side deck on the left of the house when you’re looking from the water is covered and screened with a table and the aforementioned outdoor kitchen. It’s a great place to enjoy the nice weather and catch the breeze without having to worry about the sun. Just in front of the screened-in area is a large, comfortable couch. Susan let us know before we arrived that a couple of the burners on the grill in the outdoor kitchen weren’t working & provided us a different grill from one of her other properties to use instead. We really appreciated that she was proactive and it was a great solution for our needs. We hope to return!

Such a perfect end of summer trip as two families of four. We spent almost the entire time outside, using the standup paddle boards at our small private beach, which is less than half a mile from the house and really easy to get to. The kids had so much fun, feeding the pigs and visiting the cows. We brought the kids bikes as all of the little back Roads were really fun to navigate, the kids said they would love to go back! The hosts were excellent, delicious ciders for the adults right next-door and we got ground beef and steaks from them for both the nights We were there to grill out.

Upon our arrival at the charming farmhouse on the lake, we were filled with excitement and anticipation for relaxation and adventure. The house was stunning, offering ample space with plenty of rooms for everyone. The kitchen was a delight to cook in and served as a perfect gathering spot. Access to the grilling area was convenient, and dining on the airy patio was a truly enjoyable experience. The views of the cows and chickens were delightful, adding to the farm's rustic charm. The lake itself was a tranquil oasis, perfect for birdwatching. We were thrilled to catch glimpses of bald eagles among other fascinating wildlife. We particularly appreciated the fresh bread and eggs left for us on the counter, which added a lovely homey touch to our stay. We highly recommend this oasis.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is beautiful, with amazing outdoor spaces on patio and the crow’s nest. The bedrooms are comfortable though people may fight over who gets the immense master suite. The kitchen is great and has a comfortable dining area. The house is in a gated neighborhood that is walkable to the main town area, but the walk is about 1.5 miles so may not be for everyone. We would absolutely stay here again.

Wow.. where do I start? I have a strict heart healthy diet. Only whole grain products with no dairy, meat, nuts, and oil. Brenda communicated well before the start to make sure her special dinner and breakfast dishes met my requirements. Brenda did a magnificent job. Not were the meals outstanding, the setting for her air b&b is perfect. The Northern Neck is a special place in Virginia. Staying at Brenda’s “Perfect View” in the Northern Neck was a very relaxing and enjoyable experience!

Booked a last minute staycation and am so glad we did. Beautiful, peaceful, - AND a great value. Will definitely be returning in the future.

This is an amazing house that’s brand new and right on the beach. There’s 3 decks that look right into the sunset and water. Very nice furniture, beds, and amenities. This is a perfect house in a perfect location.

Excellent house in Cape Charles. The house was able to accommodate our group comfortably. Our only regret was not being able to stay longer.

We brought our dog along for a beach adventure at The Laughing King. We had an amazing time and MJ was a wonderful host. We stayed in the little hi eymoon cottage and it was quaint and well-appointed. The loft ladder was a bit tricky but once you got up there the bed was super comfortable! We enjoyed walking around and exploring Cape Charles (just a quick 15/20 minute car ride away with plenty of free street parking around town) but our favorite day was playing out on the private sand bar with our dog. We all had a blast on the sandbar and next time will pack a lunch and stay out longer! The property itself was secluded, quiet and private. Perfect for sitting on the porch with coffee watching the tide roll in. They had paddle boards and kayaks to use in the calm backwaters as well as a fire pit and a nice pool. The reviews about MJs wonderful breakfasts were spot on - his quiche was superb. Overall we had a wonderful time at The Laughing King and we would highly recommend it

Blue Belle was a fun and roomy place to spend a long weekend with our family! It’s in a great area and was easy to get anywhere you wanted to go in Cape Charles. We rented a golf cart but it wasn’t in the best of shape. That’s not Doug’s fault but that of the rental company. Therefore, we didn’t really use it as much as we would have liked. Doug was prompt in getting the washing machine repaired and it was needed. Our granddaughters enjoyed playing the ring on a string game on the back porch and walk to the beach nearby. I recommend staying here!

We had a great stay. We were lucky enough to spend 5 nights here, wish it could have been longer. Short drive into town for restaurants and the grocery store. The house feels spacious and welcoming. Has everything you could need. So peaceful, we saw a few other people in the area, but never heard anyone while at the house. During our stay, we visited Haven beach, Gwynn island, Richmond, and Yorktown. Although, I could have just sat on the deck and listened to the water the whole time. We got to see ghost and sand fiddler crabs, turtles, a great blue heron, a wild storm, lightening on the water, and a rainbow. Quite the adventure.

Oyster Haven, that it is! Our hosts thought of everything. The house was well stocked and had upgraded appliances. Everything was clean, and the beds were comfortable. The hosts were very responsive to every question we had. The area is very quiet with beautiful water views. The back screened in porch was perfect for lounging out of the sun. We loved watching the Osprey build their nest and the bunnies hop around the yard. It was the perfect place for our Easter egg hunt. The mini private beach had beautiful sand and oyster shells galore. Lots of restaurants were close by with dine in or take out options. Some had water views. The food was fresh and delicious. Our favorite was White Dog Bistro. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Oyster Haven. Thank you, Kelly & Ben, for being such wonderful hosts.

We loved our short stay at the Little Gray House. The view alone was worth the stay. The beaches are both easy walks and the area is lovely. Everything was clean and cozy and Bronwyn and Kat gave lots of information ahead of time, including some great recommendations. Would definitely recommend checking out The Hatchery and the Gwynn’s Island Museum on the island and spending some time exploring Mathews. We will be staying here again and hopefully soon!

This waterfront home has gorgeous views. The location is very private and peaceful. Our family really enjoyed fishing from the dock, playing yard games (we brought our own), and just relaxing. Our two-night stay was the perfect amount of time for us to recharge. I would rent the house again.

We had so much at Anne and Neil’s place. It was more beautiful in person than in the photos. The furniture and antiques were so beautifully appointed. We had lots of fun as a family enjoying their pool, searching for shark teeth and shells on their beach, and getting on the water in their boats. Lots of fun. We all wish we could have stayed longer.

This spot is one of my favorite airbnbs so far. My bf and l learned how to fish and catch crabs for the first time and we had so much fun. It was pretty private and the views were great. I highly recommend this place.

if your looking for peace and quiet and cozy fibe but still close to town this is it..we were able to unwind, fish, relax and enjoy our trip ..it was our first trip to this area but will not be our Last. absolutely beautiful looking out windows and seeing the water right there in the backyard ..amazing at night and Selena an Paul was text away if we needed anything quick to respond and helpful with places to go thank you guys 😊
