Lucky Luquillo's Solar El Yunque & Beach Retreat

Place was nice and roomy. Lots of space! We had enough room for our one friends to show a few of the couples in our group how to swing dance. View in the front and back of the place were awesome, especially of the rainforest in the back! Things to know: Lots of mosquitoes, make use of the zappers provided! Air conditioner in the kitchen doesn’t do a great job of keeping that area and the dining area cool. Everywhere else, the a/c worked great! 1 bathroom has no hot water, and during our a stay, a second bathroom was also unable to get hot water. So, the only bathroom with hot water was in the master bedroom, which wasn’t ideal. It wasn’t that much of a problem except for night showering. During the day, the sun must have kept the ground so warm that the water was still lukewarm and not too cold. You may get suddenly told about scheduled landscape and other maintenance techs that you will have to leave the gate unlocked for them to get in.

This place is a hidden gem…. I love it so so much from the privacy the home offers to the neighbors being so friendly… felt like home away from home…. Luquillo kiosk only 8 mins away amazing time to have drinks and food…. Down the street by our air bnb coconuts and pinchos $4 bucks amazing experience

We greatly enjoyed our stay here - the location was perfect for visits to El Yunque, Loquillo, and Fajardo. Getting to the apartment took some confidence driving, but the apartment felt safe and was comfortable. Sean was very communicative and provided clear directions and helpful tips. The view from the apartment was incredible!

Lovely apartment! I really appreciated all the thoughtful amennties like having all the basic supplies in the bathroom and kitchen so we could arrive and not worry about going to the store. Basics like oil, seasoning, tupperware, plastic bags, paper towels, trash bags, dishsoap were all available. Also I liked the USB charging stations and the toiletries in the bathrooms. I really loved the fluffy bathrobes and beach towels. All the linens were high quality! Mandy was responsive and helpful especially when we experienced an island-wide power outage. Gorgeous views of the ocean that I could enjoy from the deck. Easy walk to the secluded beach. Highly recommend!

Thank you Sonia for a wonderful stay! Your warm welcome and quick responses made everything so smooth. The coffee machine, came in handy. The house has so many other amenities besides the AMAZING views all around. House was very clean. We also appreciated the helpful local recommendations. Nearby is El Yunque Rainforest, Richie’s restaurant and Kiosk. We would definitely stay here again!

My friends and I stayed 3 nights this past weekend and absolutely loved our stay. I will definitely save this listing for future stays. Instructions were clear for check-in and check-out that we never had to reach out for assistance. Depending on traffic our stay was a 30-40min drive to San Juan and a 30min drive to Ceiba for the ferry. It was a 2-3min drive to the amazing luquillo beach and the kiosks. It being just us 3 girls we felt very safe as you have to have a key to enter and exit the front entrance and the back entrance has like 3 locks. only minor issue which really wasn't a big deal at all was that the batteries in the remotes for the AC and the tv in one of the bedrooms needs to be replaces. Overall we adored the painting of the bird at the entrance and flag door in the hallway. The view from the balcony was nice.

Luxury Retreat Near San Juan

Looks exactly like the photos. Phenomenal views of both the beach and rainforest. There are 3 balconies (yes 3!) the one right off the kitchen was my favorite, bc it’s an end unit, you can see the ocean if you turn your head one way and beautiful rainforest/mountains if you turn it the other, zero obstructions. The pool on the property was well-monitored and the building staff enforce wristbands (diff color daily) to make sure non-residents don’t use the amenities. Never a risk of not getting chairs. We took two different trips to the rainforest bc it’s conveniently located about 10 min away (horse back riding, ATVs, GoKarts, restaurant) they have something for everyone there. Ample restaurants in the area. This was the first AirBnB in which I will likely go back, it checked all the boxes. The host was incredible and responsive. Highly recommend.

The house was wonderful! Very clean and spacious. They also had it fully equipped with all the essentials. The bar/restaurant next door was convenient and never an issue with sound. The view was fantastic!! Great location. Manny was very responsive and super helpful!

This tiny house was on a beautiful property in a quiet neighborhood. Socorro and her family have built a very beautiful place to live and host visitors. We really loved our stay here, it was so peaceful. The animals were lovely, the two dogs were so sweet, but they will leave you alone too if you are not an animal person. The house itself was clean and cool and free of bugs and the little porch was pretty and wonderful to eat dinner on which we easily cooked in the kitchen. The sounds of life around here are amazing, and the huge tree in the backyard makes the property so special. Felt very private even though there were several other people on the property. Easy to drive to and park. There is a small semi-private beach nearby which is good for a walk but would recommend going to the larger beach in Luquillo for swimming. Thank you to Socorro and her family for having us!

We enjoyed our stay very much! Josselyn was extremely helpful from start to end- very responsive and accommodating! The golf cart was a must to get to the beach and the family really enjoyed it. The beaches were beautiful, clean and not crowded. The house was clean, comfortable and really quite lovely. We look forward to returning one day. Thank you Josselyn and Hector !

This had to have been the most beautiful find. It may feel tricky to get there when you first arrive but once you get there it makes sense. The view alone is worth the cost (which is still pretty reasonable). We visited Playa Azul which was hands down the most beautiful beach I’ve ever seen. Careful swimming, though, it has been known to have riptides. We also visited El Yunque which we highly recommend and was within reasonable distance! Overall, beautiful stay, the private terrace was a lovely touch (there’s a communal upper terrace on one side but also a private one on the other). Highly recommend for its location and views!

We had a great stay with our family at Diana’s villa in the Wyndham Resort. The villa was as advertised. Very spacious and the two bedrooms and three full bathrooms were ideal for our family of five. The pool across the street was handy when we were not down by the ocean at one of the other pools. We had a golf cart to quickly go to the beach and also walked there several times for a little exercise. The restaurants and amenities were great and the communication with Diana was excellent. We had a wonderful stay!!

Cathy was an incredible host - the most responsive and communicative one we’ve had! The lodging was clean and comfortable. The resort and view from the porch was stunning. She made sure we had everything we needed for our children to sleep well - a pack and play and a toddler bed rail. This location is perfect for kids with the beach and pool so close by. It was easy to do things with the kids without having to leave the resort. Loved having access to the golf cart. Would certainly love to come back to Cathy’s place! The home and resort were stunning! Loved the back porch!

Highly recommended! Plenty of room for our group of 7, including two kids. Very clean and well stocked. The pool and pool table kept us busy for hours when not exploring. Very close to the rainforest and several beaches, restaurants (great local bakery and juice bar) and a short drive to San Juan/Old San Juan. Joel was an excellent host and very responsive. We were here during the recent island wide power outage with no issues as the house has a large generator. Overall, a great stay!!!

We had the most wonderful family vacation staying here! Bri’s place is beautiful, perfectly appointed for our needs, and eating breakfast on a patio looking out on the rain forest cannot be beat. Rio Mar is well located for easily checking out San Juan, hiking the rain forest, accessing supermarkets and great restaurants, and the all time highlight of being close to so many spectacular beaches. On top of all of this, the Rio Mar resort is beautiful. We enjoyed the beach, the pool, and using a golf cart to access this massive resort. We only wish we could have stayed longer!
