Scotch Cove Retreat is our beautiful seaside cottage on the south shore of Nova Scotia in Mahone Bay. It has tons of spaces, gorgeous ocean views, "pool hall", artist's studio, and private dock on Scotch Cove only minutes away from hiking trails and the sweet town of Chester. It's perfect for a relaxing time with family and close friends. (Gatherings are now limited to 16 by Airbnb.) We've put a lot of work into this space and think it has a lot of heart and character. We had the perfect stay at Lily on the Lake. We rented for a week to transition from moving out of province. Everyone felt right at home and the house is absolutely gorgeous. Every little detail well thought out. Everything you could ever need was available. I started each morning with a plunge in the lake which was breathtaking and so quiet. They had a pack and play and so many fun toys for my daughter- she loved it. Beds were comfy and cozy with tons of linens, pillows and blankets available. Kitchen was well stocked with essentials. Dawn was so lovely to communicate with before and during our stay. Cannot recommend enough- we plan on having friends stay here when they come to visit just so we can go for another peaceful dip in the lake or cozy cuddle on the couch.

Thank you for a wonderful stay! It was the ideal spot for a peaceful and relaxing visit, right on the bay! Our favourite part of the day was late afternoon, sitting on the deck with a glass of wine and watching the sailboats return. The accommodation had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We appreciated the washing machine and dryer, and the bbq - it really made us feel at home. The only thing I missed was having cable or a radio to catch up on news - but then again, sometimes it is good to disconnect from the world. We highly recommend this vacation spot to anyone looking to visit the South Shores area (Chester / Mahone Bay).

Beautiful spot and exceptional hosts. Every little detail you could want has been thought of and addressed - and it was extremely kid friendly. Travelling with a toddler and a 6 year old, they loved the box of legos and the board games, as well as the kid-sized kayak. It was beautiful, peaceful, and private. The bedrooms are as described though the basement can be damp so there is a bit of a musty smell (no fault of the hosts). There is a dehumidifier running constantly. Overall it was a great stay and we really enjoyed it.

Palmer's Cottage is a lovely place to spend a quiet, relaxing holiday, close to nature and the outdoors but also close enough to visit Halifax for an evening out. Lots of activities (beach, bicycle, walking) steps from the front door. The cottage is comfortable with a truly "fully-equipped" kitchen, for those who like to cook. Steve is a great host, responsive to questions, available to help when needed but always respectful of his guest's privacy.
