Bookbinder's Retreat is small self-contained studio, situated adjacent to the main house. Whilst in the town, the property has a rural outlook over the Public Gardens, and a secluded feel. I have enjoyed creating the space on a small budget over a long time. Travellers seem to appreciate the craftsman like quirkiness of the space which reflects the town.

A new kitchen, a cosy loungeroom and private courtyard with barbeque and separate entrance. Tea, coffee, milk and basic supplies in the pantry, homemade bread and a sample of our own honey . Breakfast cereals provided . You will love it. A pleasant garden and views top it all off....while being handy to town.

We had a wonderful Matariki weekend at Ricky and Mels. The house is right across the road from the sea so it felt super relaxing just sitting in the rocking chairs by the big windows watching the sea and bird life. We stayed cosy with the log burner which they lit for us before we arrived. We were offered early check in and late check out and communication was super prompt and friendly. The beds were super comfortable with soft flanette sheets and fluffy bathroom towels. The kitchen had everything we needed. Would highly recommend - awesome value for money!

One of the nicest places my husband and I have ever stayed in. Very comfortable in such a lovely setting. Our host was available if necessary and provided some essentials when we first arrived which was really appreciated. Very comfortable beds and had everything needed to enjoy our stay. We felt rested and relaxed at Sunset Cottage. We wouldn't hesitate to return to this beautiful place......Thanks Andrea and Bruce
