big size room with loft

Beautiful place in the middle of the island making it easy to get around to both ends of the island. Gabriele was super helpful by offering to arrange a driver to pickup from the airport, providing recommendations of places to eat and things to do. I was upgraded to the A/C room with private terrace which was beautiful and enjoyed a large spread for breakfast on the shared terrace each morning. The staff was friendly and helpful. After walking around the island I was able to come back to Gabriele's place and relax quietly to a book or take a swim in the pool to escape the heat. I would definitely come back!
A scenic view of the beach is framed by lush greenery, showcasing the calm sea in the distance. The shoreline is visible, marked by sandy areas and gentle water, providing a natural, inviting atmosphere.

Great place to stay. Kyra and Genito (and baby) are really amazing people. Breakfast is delicious (I still want more of those pancakes!).
A wooden door opens to reveal a view of a sparkling swimming pool surrounded by palm trees. Sunlight brightens the space, and lounge chairs are placed nearby on a tiled patio, creating an inviting area for relaxation.

Global Traveller Room in Cafe Central

Excellent stay - highly recommend. Everything was great. Wonderful location, breakfast was excellent (the chocolate cake was delicious), and the service and help from Rosario and the team was very much appreciated. He was very communicative and helped answer all of my questions and reserved a front seat for me on the journey back to Nampula which was very much appreciated!!
A serene outdoor space is highlighted by a small swimming pool set among lush greenery. Two lounge chairs are positioned to the side, with a papaya tree providing shade. The surrounding walls are painted in warm orange tones, and a small building with a thatched roof is visible.

Lovely patio. Room was clear, but a little bit dark. Nice swimming pool and breakfast was on the roof terrace. Gabrielle arranged transport from Nampula to Ilha and back for a good price. Easy communication and helpful information. Highly recommended!
A spacious rooftop terrace is shown, featuring wooden seating arrangements and potted plants. The backdrop includes a serene view of the ocean and palm trees, while the remnants of historic buildings are visible in the surrounding area.

Comfy Room at the Charming Cafe Central

We had a great time at Café Central. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the location is very good. We had a little problem with the booking as the room we booked on Airbnb was no longer available but they were very responsive and the room they offered us as an alternative was also good. The only thing that it was not so good was the WiFi that didn't work in our room. We have just one suggestion: the outside of the hotel is usually full of children asking tourists for money. Although we are aware of the poverty suffered by many people on the island, often the best way to help these children is not to give them money, even though it is very difficult. We were lucky enough to meet an association ("heartseed") on this island, which is dedicated to helping these children (and also helping them get out of the vicious cycle of getting their money by asking tourists). Their suggestions on the best ways to deal with these kids and help them (without simply handing them money) was very helpful, and we thought it might be helpful for other tourists as well. It seems to us that if Café Central shared with guests some information and tips on this topic, as well as the work of this association (or others that may exist), it could greatly benefit the well-being of the guests, and simultaneously help these children.
