The minute we got there, we met Mr. Colin. He was the best—so kind, nice, helpful, and had a great smile! The place was fantastic, with a gorgeous lake view and it was a short walk to amazing historical sites. Plus, the cottage was fabulous, especially the fireplace! They even provided wood and matches, so we could set by the fire and enjoy a warm night. It was spotless and fully equipped—felt just like home. Sharon and Mary, thanks for getting back to us so quickly and easily!

If you are looking for off-the-beaten-track luxury with incredible wildlife, views of beautiful Loch Etive and the surrounding mountains which are second to none - then this is the place for you! Our family of 7 had a wonderful stay here and we were sad to leave. We highly recommend this Air BnB and we would love to visit again. Note: we were thankful to find teabags and coffee - but bring your own milk. ;)

If you’re looking for the perfect place to stay in the Highlands, don‘t look any further, you‘ve found it! This place is gorgeous! The house is spacious, clean and has spectacular views. We loved to cook and sit in the well-equipped kitchen and admire the ever-changing Ben Nevis. The remoteness of the place made it so special to us, yet you are still close enough to Fort William (40 minutes) and a bunch of other places. A car is a must though. Elizabeth is a wonderful host who provided us with fresh eggs, milk and a basket full of treats. She gave great tips and always reacted promptly. We were sad to leave and hope to be back!

This place has got to be one of the best we have stayed at for location as the views from the accommodation were just stunning and right on Loch Etive which was also fantastic for paddle boarding being on the door step. Beautiful wildlife all around to watch through the huge living room windows that look out at Ben Cruachan and Loch Etive

Highly recommended for 1-2 weeks with children (4&7) for excursions in the area, whether ferry to the Isle of Mull or train from Arrochard&Tarbet to Corrour (very lonely, great for hikes) or the hike from Inveraray Castle to Dun Na Cuaiche Watchtower). The hosts were super helpful and very discreet, always willing to help or give tips. Kitchen perfectly equipped, also all basic ingredients, great dining room, super cozy double bed. Overall a perfect Airbnb experience! Thank you!

!!HIDDEN GEM!! Cozy Cottage near Lochgilphead

NatashaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
5 stars across the board! This place is magical if you’re looking for a get away from the hustle and bustle of life and instead listen to the birds and enjoy time in nature. The chickens and hens were welcome company, they’re so sweet and greet you when you pull up. I stayed here April 2025 and happened to luck out with the weather, which was fabulous. Lochgilphead is close by, as is the gorgeous Ardfern which you can easily get to in less than 30 minutes. Also, you can do a day trip to the isle of Arran based from here, which is an added bonus. Peter and Anna were very accommodating and you can tell that they love their place. It was very clean and comfortable, I can’t wait to return. Natasha

We just had the most wonderful stay at Sadhara bothy. The location is remote and stunning, perfect for a peace and quiet getaway. The bothy is well equipped, clean and cosy. The fireplace got the bothy nice and toasty. It's also a 20 min drive through beautiful red deer moorland to the train station where we picked up some fantastic cake to eat on the train and watch the awesome scenery go by on the west highland line. There were beautiful walks through the blackwood, a pristine loch you could get out on, and pleanty of wildlife to spot. Will have to go back again to explore more. Thank you so much Melanie & Peter for having us x

Great place - hard to get to at night if you have a bigger car since there's about a 3 mile stretch from the main road to get here through farmlands, but you're going to Scotland for that reason right? It comfortably fit 6 people and everything was great. Wonderfully cosy den and sky-light room that made it beautiful to spend time in after a long day of hikes.

Peaceful lochside Highland retreat

StaceyRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
This stay was just what we needed! Peaceful, beautiful views and a cosy cottage with a log burner that had pretty much everything we needed. Overall our stay was fantastic. Loved being lochside (the bench outside is perfect), exploring the area and having lots of lovely animals to view either in the loch or right next to the door. We were lucky enough to see any species of birds, seals, otters and even red squirrels!
