We had a great time in Shela. The place is beautiful and reigns peace. Chloé's house is comfortable and welcoming. Dickson has been a very kind and professional host. She responded quickly to all our requests and delighted us every day with her kitchen. Chloé's house is highly recommended and, if I go back to Shela I'm sure to repeat. Thank you very much for a great few days.

I actually booked this for my parents who don't have Airbnb and are notoriously picky. They absolutely loved everything, in particular the incredible food from the chef. I cannot wait to stay here myself!!

The team, location and the facilities at Moon Houses are excellent. The house keeper, cook and manager were all exceptional in their efforts to ensure we enjoyed a relaxing stay. A highly recommended place to stay!

We had the most fabulous week at Nina’s — it was an utter dream. The staff were incredible. The beach was idyllic. And everyone was so helpful and made our week perfect. Thank you to everyone for looking after us.

We had a wonderful time at Langhi Ylang. The house is beautiful with a relaxing pool area and a spectacular rooftop terrace. Gilles is a great host and Steven and chef Ali took excellent care of us. When in Lamu we will definitely revisit!

We spent 4 days at taqwa house and it s was amazing, Elijah the chef is an amazing chef, Peter the manager was very available. Only issue is that the house is a bit far (10min walking) from Sheila and the instructions are not very clear. We will come back

Our stay just couldn’t be better! Nina’s place is a little paradise, the house is very spacious and clean, with a lot of areas to hang and relax. The pool was definitely a highlight for me, it was so nice to start the day with the swim and also to read a book floating on a mattress. The house is located a short walk to island’s most beautiful beach Shela and also just 5 min from the harbor. But all this would not be the same without chef’s Daniel fresh and local cooking. He treated us with fresh seafood dishes every day and his cooking was way better than any of the restaurants on the island. Already planning my return and can get boy recommend this place to anybody traveling to Lamu.

What a magnificent villa. Very peaceful and relaxing time with family. The house was beautifully designed and the open spaces were amazing. Our kids really enjoyed the pool and the location was very central to Lamu. The staff were super friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would definitely recommend!

Milele House is such a wonderful place to stay in Lamu Town. We were very comfortable, and the cold pool was a definite plus in the Lamu heat. Getting there on check-in by yourself is very difficult (the map location is wrong), but Jamuhuri will come find you if you write in advance. They are also helpful in scheduling activities such as sunset dhow cruises.

We absolutely loved our stay. The host was very fast to respond & suggested thoughtful activities for us. The house is well designed, full of Art, books, films to look at. The swimming pool was a highlight. The location is at the heart of Lamu & very accessible from the waterfront. The chef was one of the best we have experienced in Lamu & the caretaker was very sweet with our kids. We highly reccomend this place!

Stayed here for the second time and still enjoyed it. I personally like, that it is a bit out of Shela and more peacful. Easy access to the beach through the dunes. Very good wifi! A great new addition is the drinking water filter system!! 👏 Firstly you don’t have to walk all the way with the heavy 10ltr bottles, but also reduces the usage of single use plastic bottles! I was lucky enough to be the only one staying this time and was able to sprawl out! 😅 Philicent and Elina are always around and helpful, but very discrete. Thanks for having me again! I shall be back!
