Cottage vacation rentals in Lake County

My family was looking for a quiet weekend getaway and this lake house was the perfect place for us! The lake views from the living room were spectacular. The house was charming and comfortable. It had everything we needed and more! The peacocks roamed the yard throughout the day and were a pleasant sight to see. The dock was enjoyed by the whole family! We watched beautiful sunsets. My sons used the kayak. We fished for crappie and caught a few! We brought our small fishing boat and cruised around Lake Harris. We made our way to the famous Dora Canal. The boat launch is minutes away from the house. We walked to the delicious bakery a mile away for morning coffee and pastries. The host was so helpful and available to answer any questions we had. We enjoyed our stay at this charming and serene lake house!

Stephen was a pleasure to work with, very responsive and flexible as possible. He was proactive in letting us know that the check-in time was available sooner than listed. His keyless entry made it very easy to access his house and made it easy for all in my party to come and go as they pleased. His house was very clean and you could tell that as soon as you walked in the door. Everything worked well, his AC system provided arctic level cooling, his pool and hot tube was ready for use, his screened in game room was fun and actually stayed cool throughout the day, his outside gathering areas had plenty of seating, and his dock provided plenty of room to fish. This location on the canal was beautiful and easily accessible to St John's River. Definitely would stay here again and would recommend this place to anyone who wants a cool place to stay, relax and have fun. This was our second stay at this very special Oasis. Our lodging was spotless and Comfortable , had everything Including laundry and we paid the extra for The sweet heated pool, jacuzzi and hot tub Very pretty and peaceful, we will Definitely return! We had a delicious meal at nearby Soco restaurant and walked around Thornton Park neighborhood which was sweet and had a loc crafts fair We go To a lot of Airbnbs and this one was right up there among the top. A very special place. You will be happy if you book it!

We booked Angie’s place for our wedding which was at a venue 8 minutes away. This Airbnb is absolutely gorgeous and was the perfect stay for us. The surroundings are really peaceful, I got up early each morning to watch the sun come up in their backyard. Word just really can’t describe how beautiful the area is. The house itself was equipped with so much to do to make your stay a great and fun time, and it was also very clean and tidy. The convenience it had to our venue was just the icing on the cake. The hosts were also incredibly responsive if we had questions and very accommodating. We’d love to stay again.

I booked this place for a five day stay with my girlfriend. The cabin is located on a quiet section of 44A just east of the walking trails at Lake May and Trout Lake. The hosts and their family live on the property, but you would hardly know. Other than a short, but friendly, conversation with Gabriel, and a couple visits from their incredibly sweet and quiet little dog, they gave us plenty of privacy. There are two units in the barn. The upper one, where we stayed was comfortable, and exceptionally well-finished for the price. In our conversation, Gabriel told me it was his first big renovation job, but you would hardly know. I've stayed in hotels for nearly twice the price that didn't look or feel nearly as good as this place did. We loved the full kitchen, comfortable bed, and free streaming on TV. Overall, we were incredibly happy with our time here. We will definitely be back.

This charming 1927 era home is serving cottage core ruffles and the flowery porcelain teacups of your dreams. We were transported back to another era when we walked inside, in a good way. Nostalgia with air conditioning! It was a short drive to bustling downtown Mt. Dora/Tevares. The house was comfortable and quiet. We especially appreciated the gated, fenced in yard so we could include our dog. It was really nice to have a quiet place to come back to after being in downtown with some of the weekend crowds. It was very easy to load in and out from the driveway/off-street parking. There are large live oaks in the backyard with lots of shade. Lake County is very dog friendly and there are many local restaurants that have outdoor seating so you can bring your well-behaved pup. There was also a neighborhood green space (no playground) just around the corner from the house. The grocery store was an eight-minute drive. A relaxing local getaway from our perspective.

Jaqueline was a wonderful host. She was quick to respond, the house was everything we expected, and in a great location close enough to all the action but was still quiet and peaceful.

We did rent this place because in the description it does say it has a heated pool unfortunately we came at the end of October and the pool wasn’t heated yet so we wasn’t able to swim

Great place to stay with boat parking. Less than 5 minutes from multiple boat ramps on Harris Chain of lakes. House was clean and neat. Will definitely book again. Hunter was very clear with instructions and information as well as responsive when I messaged him.

We came here to Summerfield to visit my Dad who's pretty sick, I say that to say this : This little cabin was a beautiful quiet respite from the stress of the outside world. It was private, peaceful, very well loved, the beds were soft and clean, check in was a breeze it was everything we wanted. The porch was amazing we sat out there listening to the rain one night. Melissa was EXTREMELY responsive when I had a slight loss through my own making ( I locked myself out WOW ) and responded immediately very kindly and the issue was quickly taken care of! Super super helpful. Location was great like six minutes from Silver Springs! Loved it loved the whole experience thank you both again for letting us stay!

We thoroughly felt right at home and comfortable. We were able to walk down the street to so many stores and restaurants. Hopefully be able to return again sometime. Our hosts were extremely responsive to any question we had but there wasn't anything we needed to ask that wasn't already explained or provided.

We stayed there for a month. We had a great time there. It was very quiet and we loved the screened in porch and had a nice time relaxing.. My husband got to fish from the dock. Lauren was very helpful with a few details that we were not able to figure out, like the TV and finding a few things in the house. But she responded very quickly with any questions that I had.

My stay was absolutely beautiful—peaceful, cozy, and everything I hoped for. The private lake was incredibly relaxing, perfect for unwinding and taking in nature. The cottage itself was amazing—well-kept, charming, and had such a welcoming, at-home feel. It was the perfect escape.

Great little cottage!! Mt Dora is so cute!! My daughterand I will be back and would stay in the cottage again!! The neighborhood was so quaint and quiet. It was a comfy little spot! Thank you Lawrence for having us 🩷

We stayed here with 10 women on a lady retreat it was perfect - all the amenities you could need and more with the kayaks and St John’s River and many springs nearby. Would definitely stay again!

If you are wanting to visit Silver Springs Park for some gorgeous kayaking or biking in a National Forest, Nicole's home is conveniently located to both. Nicole's home still has that new home scent and is peaceful for relaxing after a busy day of kayaking and biking.

I stay here often. It's a great place with an excellent location and everything you need.

First, the home is exactly as described in the photos, and when you get there, the house is absolutely more fantastic than we imagined. If you like original and beautiful art, you are in for a treat. The Fisherman's Cottage is filled with incredible pieces of sea-themed art, from metal fish to whales to seahorses to fish themed rubber sandals for guests. You just have to go there to experience the creative spirit that lives in the home. The cottage was immaculate, and Liz and Lee had everything you could possible need, including snacks. They were attentive and excellent communicators. It's a short walk to the quaint, beautiful town of Mt. Dora and a short walk to the lake. It's a must-have experience. All four of us had a great time. It could not have been better! Thank you, from Marylou, Nancy, Karen and Amy!
