It's the perfect stepping stone towards the full off-grid experience, intended for people who are curious about living the off-grid lifestyle but also like to be able to charge their phone, boil a kettle and have a hot shower! Situated at the end of an 8 mile single track road off the NC500, it's perfect to explore the Highlands. Created with love and attention to detail, we wish that you will experience a unique stay in a wonderful little crofting township. Dogs on leads are very welcome.

Charming Eco friendly Highland Bothy - sleeps two.

Stay in this charming unique highland bothy nestled amidst idyllic woodland overlooking Loch Broom and the mountains beyond. Inside the bothy there is an easy to light wood burning stove , a kitchen area with hot and cold water and gas burner for cooking and traditional style highland box beds with interior lighting. There is a long deep window seat where you can sit to watch birds feeding outside or to enjoy the lovely view. Tor Bothy is low impact sitting in 7 acres of re- wilded land.

Foulis Gate Lodge is a Highland cottage on the Gates of an historic, private, Highland estate with its own drive. The secluded location offers direct access to extensive gardens. The nearest amenities are 2miles in Evanton or 5miles to the ancient Burgh of Dingwall. Foulis Castle is a 15 min walk away from the Storehouse Restaurant & Farm shop, which is situated on the shore/beach of the Cromarty Firth (Mon-Sat 9-5pm). My place is good for NC500 travellers, couples, and business travellers.

The Old Schoolhouse

Starting life as the school for the few local children back in the early 20th Century, the Old Schoolhouse was converted into a modest family home by our grandparents in 1962. They lived in this remote and beautiful part of Scotland during the spring and summer months and we would visit them every year in our school holidays. We have the best memories of our times spent at the Old Schoolhouse, it truly is a magical place and one we hope to now be able to share with others.
