Bungalow in Rambukkana

Andiramada Walawwa - The British Bungalow

VictoriaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
The bungalow is as beautiful as the pictures. The furniture and decor is stunning, and the pool is wonderful place to relax. The beds were very comfortable, and the rooms were very quiet. Chandra cooked us dinner, breakfast and lunch, and these were the best meals we experienced in our 3 week trip to Sri Lanka. We had a late flight, and the host kindly let us stay at the bungalow for the day, for no extra charge. We loved relaxing by the pool and watching the birds and lizards. This is a very special property, and we highly recommend it to any visitor.

Salmal Uyana Villa Kandy

MatthewRating, 5 stars5 months ago
We had an amazing Airbnb experience at this gorgeous villa in the suburbs of Kandy. Manju and his wife were excellent hosts who made us feel incredibly welcome from the start. Upon arrival, we were greeted with freshly harvested king coconut drinks straight from the garden—a wonderful touch. After a brief tour of the property and a helpful demonstration, we had full privacy to enjoy the villa to ourselves. Manju kindly collected us from the airport, which was much appreciated after an exhausting 8-hour journey. The following morning, he even dropped us into Kandy city to meet our tour guide, going above and beyond to make our stay convenient and enjoyable. Manju’s local knowledge and personable nature added so much value to our trip. As a bonus, we got a free tour of his workplace at a gem and jewellery museum, which was both fascinating and informative. I highly recommend staying at this Airbnb—it’s a truly memorable experience with exceptional hosts!

Tranquility: Room two / Mountain View Room

MarkRating, 5 stars6 months ago
Wow, what a hidden treasure. Arjuna and Zane made our stay so comfortable and restful, always willing to talk about the surrounds, tea plantation and beautiful gardens, but also hands-off enough that we felt relaxed. We intended to do some hiking but the weather meant options were limited, but that just meant spending more time in gorgeous surroundings learning about local plants and their uses, hanging out with their 4 brilliant and ultra friendly dogs, and eating lovely local dishes. A small village is just 15 mins walk away, which has some shops for essentials and lunch items. If you’re after a beautiful, restful place for a short break then I really couldn’t recommend Tranquility enough. It was an absolute treat and brilliant value for money.

Xotic Resort 1005

My experience was amazing. The villa has ten acres of property that I could freely wander around. There are many fruit trees and exotic spices grown on the premises. My room had AC and a private balcony that overlooks the frontyard. The room is nice, and even has a huge mirror, and a wood paneled ceiling. There is a small, shallow pool, with jets, which didn’t have clear water, but was clean enough to use. There was always someone onsite to assist with anything. It’s much quieter than anywhere in the big cities, but you’ll still have to contend with the sounds of nature, cause even the squirrels chirp like birds in the morning 😋 The host, Sudath, is wonderful and kind. He has many contacts in the area to help you with whatever you need, and for me, he was tremendously helpful. When I travel, I only need three things, AC, wifi, and hot water. Xotic had all three, and much more. To see more of the property, check out my YouTube channel “Explore with Stone”

Goddess cheerful villa with pool

MatthewRating, 5 stars1 month ago
I stayed here for 6 weeks whilst working in the area. Gaya's place is lovely. Rooms are nice. Breakfast is good and you can request fruit/bread or variety of local dishes. Pool is lovely and there are lots of places to chill out/work. If you do decide to stay for more than a few nights it's worth checking out the local area and here are some suggestions: Food: - City Restaurant: a great selection of local food, including rice and curry for amazing prices. Sala the manager is a really nice guy and provides a great service. There is also a local bar upstairs that shows the IPL. - Sri Saraswathi Dosai: great place for lunch, try the cheese masala dosai. Gym: - If you feel like a workout you must check out Gym Solutions. Susantha, the owner, is possibly one of the nicest people I've ever met, will give you a PT session for an incredible price, and would love to practice his English! Hikes: - Alagalla: Tough but rewarding, underrated; rope climb at top not for faint hearted!

SRI JUNGLE VILLAGE HOMESTAY. (country side)

Ravi’s family was very welcoming and caring. It was a nice stay. We chose his place because it was close to the Pinnawalla elephant orphanage. He arranged the pick up from the airport and to orphanage and to our next destination. All well taken care of. Thanks!
