A short 10min walk from station - with lots of stores and restaurants in the mall next to the station. There you can grab a bus/tram downtown near the castle. It’s not a bad walk either. Apt area is very calm

Victoria, the lodge owner and a Buddhist priest herself, gave us a tour of the temple and the chance to ring the bell. I was also delighted to meet Pickles, the temple cat, who seemed to enjoy the atmosphere as much as the guests!

We had a great stay and experience in this home!There was plenty of assistance throughout the check-in process, and you can see that the house is very quiet and the neighborhood is very quiet.I think you can experience great Japanese local life, and you can cook the delicious and healthy Japanese rice in the house with a rice cooker. All kinds of cooking utensils are also available, and it is really suitable for staying in this house for a little longer.We'll stay again if we get a chance! The thoughtful touches, such as the flowers and various small touches in the family, are all considered for the residents' experience, and it is really recommended and just next to Kumamoto Airport, in a quiet neighborhood

This house is HUGE, way bigger than I had envisioned. This was such a plus when traveling with the kids who thoroughly enjoyed playing in the open space. The onsen bath was great. The kitchen had everything you need to make a quick meal for breakfast. The beds were very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again a d definitely recommend!

I stayed in a trailer house that I had always wanted to stay in with my family of four (me, my wife, my 1st year daughter in middle school, and my 4th grade son in elementary school).Buy meat in advance and grill it outside and have it with beer for dinner.The grill caught fire immediately, and the host cleaned up, so it was really easy.The room, kitchen, and bed are fully equipped, and the trailer house windows have blinds, so you can rest easy. The bathroom is a little far, but there are lights along the way, and above all, it's clean. It's 500 yen, but it's also equipped with a washing machine with a dryer. The only downside is that there is no bath and only a shower room.My kids are still young, so we went to a nearby hot spring facility called Dondoko Village and had a BBQ.The kids were also very excited, so it was really good.

Akio and Bill are the most caring, friendly, and attentive hosts I’ve met. They made me feel right at home. It feels as if I were visiting dear friends. Their home is gorgeous and one of the best designed homes you’ll experience. The apartment is very private and has everything you may need. The bed is very comfortable. The shower and the kitchen the cutest. Now to breakfast.. you can feel it was made with care. Everything is delicious from fruits, to bread, to bacon and tomatoes (those tomatoes 🤤). Bill even remembered how I like my coffee. 🥺 Minamiaso is such a beautiful area to explore, with farm lands, view of surrounding mountains, and tasty restaurants. It’s a great base to see the Mount Aso area. I spent some of my favorite days in Japan here, thanks to Bill and Akio. Like the others have said, staying with them is an experience in itself. If it’s available, don’t hesitate to book. It’s worth more than it costs and will leave you with unforgettable, fond memories.

I stayed for two weeks and enjoyed Amakusa City.You can access the entire Amakusa area in about 30 minutes by car from here.It had almost everything you need for daily life, including appliances, cooking utensils, and seasonings, and I enjoyed cooking with the fish I caught and local ingredients.You can catch various fish at the port, which is a 1-minute drive away, making it a great place for those who love fishing and cooking.In addition, the owner is warm, and it is a lovely place to stay that makes you want to visit again.Super Zero, about a 7-minute drive, has delicious sashimi.The hot spring next door is also recommended.The scallops from the fishery cooperative and the horse mackerel in mirin were also delicious.

This was possibly my best experience I've had on Airbnb. The place was so cozy and nice, and it had a ton of amenities such as many heaters more. The host is very generous and has quick, prompt responses. I highly recommend this place.

It was good for Amakusa as a base for sightseeing. There was a convenience store, restaurant, and supermarket just a short drive away, so you can cover it even if you forget to buy it.
