This property is a wonderful place to stay near Ruka, clean and modern and with all features as described for a comfortable stay. We spent the Christmas holidays here and it was so magical in the setting with the immediate view of the first from the living room area. The whole place has been thoughtfully designed to be functional, practical and aesthetically beautiful, we had no complaints. The log fire and sauna works perfectly and the kitchen fully equipped to cook in. We walked to Ruka (about one hour) where there are restaurants, a small supermarket and all skiing facilities. We used taxis to return from here or to go on excursions further afield which worked much better than car hire for us. There is a lot to do in the area, many sporting activities as well as winter activities such as husky rides, reindeers, snowmobiling, cross country skiing etc. We would absolutely stay here again and thank you Tero for being a great host!

One week here was not enough! The cabin was beautiful, warm and relaxing, and the hosts were so helpful and kind. The cabin itself was pristine - it had everything we needed to make ourselves at home; from cooking meals on an evening, to drying our boots after spending the day outside in the snow. The hosts themselves were wonderful. They cut a hole through the ice down at the lake for us to plunge in after our sauna sessions and were so accommodating with recommendations of things to do. Free use of snowshoes was great and perfect for hiking the hill right behind the property. The whole stay was amazing, and we really didn’t want to leave. We also went ice fishing out in the lake with the hosts for a really unique and amazing experience. The fish was also delicious, which we cooked in the amazing cooking/barbecue cabin. After 6 trips to Finland in winter this was by far the best accommodation and hosts we’ve had. We will definitely be back!

Very nice cottage!!! Well-equipped and very cozy! The environment is peaceful especially since we had no neighbors! Direct access to the lake on foot which allowed us to observe the northern lights. The sauna is very pleasant!!! We recommend the accommodation!

The living area features a modern sofa arrangement with a small coffee table and a dining setup accommodating four chairs. A well-equipped kitchen area is visible in the background, complemented by natural light streaming through large windows framed by dark curtains.

What a lovely stay we had here! The log cabin itself is stunning and beautifully furnished - super cosy! We stayed here in midwinter so we were surrounded by a gorgeous winter wonderland. Excellent location, set back from the road but very close to supermarket and places to organise your outdoor adventures. Very close to Ruka ski resort. Rami’s communication with us was brilliant, we didn’t need to ask him anything as everything was covered.

We had an absolutely amazing week at the cabin. The surroundings were stunning and peaceful. The cabin itself was great, brand new and extremely warm and comfortable with everything you need. It was so easy to park the car and access the cabin. The sauna was fantastic and the views from every window of the beautiful forest and lake were unforgettable. Ritta was really helpful and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. The location is idealic. Endless incredible walking trails within easy access. Ruka and Kuusamo are close by if you need a supermarket or restaurant. We rented a snow mobile in Ruka which was great and went to Pizzeria Ruka one night which was really good. I would definitely come back, Lapland is heaven and the most beautiful place I've been. We even saw the Northern Lights on our last night, a perfect end to our holiday!

The most incredible host from booking right through to leaving. I had issues with my payment which Hans was so lovely about, he set up decorations and a little surprise for my husband on arrival as we were there for his 30th birthday and booked dinner reservations for us. Nothing was too much hassle for him, he always replied very quickly and i felt confident that if we had had any issues he would have sorted it out straight away for us. The accommodation was magical! It was so peaceful amd cosy, just felt like we were tucked up in our own little corner of the world. The views over the lake weather we were in bed, the hottub, or sauna were incredible and watching the aurora dance overhead was just better than I can describe. Everyone should visit this beautiful place once in their life ❤️ Thankyou Hans for the most perfect airbnb experience we've ever had!

The stay in the house in spring was wonderful. We just wanted to relax with some sauna and a view and the house is just that. We were also able to see some polar lights and have a walk on the lake as it was frozen. We bet its beautiful in the summertime too! We loved it!

We liked Ulla's place so much that we would have liked to move in here. The cottage was clean, well equipped (except for bed linen/towels, these are to be brought!) and had a fantastic view of the water. Ulla herself was very friendly in contact and the check-in was straightforward. We will be happy to come back.

Maxime and Marie are very lovely people and super great hosts who always helped us with helpful tips and interesting information. We felt very welcome and at home. The guest house is super clean, lovingly and stylishly furnished and well equipped, with everything you need, and much more - we enjoyed walking with snowshoes, smoking fish ourselves, ice fishing and romping with the huskies :). The private sauna is one of the most beautiful we have ever had the pleasure of saunaing in - overlooking the icy lake - where we could cool off in the ice hole. At the end of our stay, we were even lucky enough to watch sensational northern lights over the lake. It was a wonderful 8 days, we would love to come back at some point (also at other times of the year).

A cool and well-equipped cottage near the slopes. The windows and terrace had a great view of the slopes of Vuossel. The cottage is a well-decorated and beautiful log cabin where it was nice to spend the evening after a hillside day. The beds were really comfortable to sleep on, good quality mattresses, which is one important factor in the trip. Highly recommended for this listing! Thank you for your comfortable stay and great service. All questions were also answered very quickly. 👍🏼👍🏼

The stay was absolutely amazing. Secluded in pure nature directly at the lake. A great place for a holiday to relax and come down. We were a couple and absolutely enjoyed every part of it, especially the whirlpool, Sauna and all amenities the house has to offer. The hosts had an incredibly quick response to any questions we had during our stay. Thanks for that. The only negative point i could think of is the long list of instructions for using all the facilities of the house (e.g. the hot tub). It takes some time to read all of them and remember everything. But its definitely worth it. So i recommend staying at least 3 night for making full use of everything and enjoying this incredible place. There is also several national parks at 30-45min car drive. So longer stays are definitely also recommendable. We loved it and give this stay a 5/5 stars. Looking forward to come back one day!

We stayed at Salme's cottage on the lake for almost a month during our parental leave, with our baby and our dog. The house is very well kept and extremely clean. The view on the lake is stunning and the area Is surrounded by forest. There is everything you may need for a nice stay, whether it's in winter or summer. Salme is very kind and helpful, and will be happy to give suggestions on things to do if needed. Overall one of our best experiences as guests on Airbnb!

Probably we will have to come back, because this place is unique. We found here a retreat to see northern lights directly from the living room, taking saunas next to the lake and feel in deep connection with nature. No people km's around and peaceful quietness. Not gat there is an amazing national park to hike. The house is definitely for adventurous people, since water cans have to be filled from the lake, at least in winter, and electricity relies on a gas generator. If you are willing to experience the true adventure in the wild, this place is for you.

We were a group of four staying for a week, and it was a wonderful experience. The place is beautiful—peacefully surrounded by woods, and the classic wooden Lappi mökki was incredibly cozy and charming. It really gave that authentic, relaxing cabin-in-the-forest vibe we were hoping for. If we had to point out anything, it would be that the bunk beds weren’t the most comfortable for our friend who’s 2 meters tall—but for most people, they’d be just fine. All in all, a lovely spot that we’d happily return to!

Great location in the village of Ruka, but still peaceful. Great for families with children, especially the teenagers loved getting right from the door to the hillside. Good accommodation in every way!

Ruka's pressa is absolutely in Ruka's best location. A short trip to the slopes, ski slopes, and the hub hula. I definitely recommend this and will be back. The rental was straightforward as it should be.

The apartment was very clean and nicely decorated. We found everything we needed for a few days' stay. The house was very quiet and peaceful. The only disturbing factor was the cologne on their cars on the streets, but they are the downsides of downtown living. Parking in the yard was a plus.

The house is exceptional, beautiful and located right on the lake. The decor is natural, modern and with lots of wood; we felt very comfortable from the first moment. Note the very secluded location; the nearest shopping (supermarket) is about 15 minutes away by car. But with proper planning, that's not a problem either. We enjoyed the quiet idyllic location very much.
