What a wonderful place and in the perfect location for exploring the Golden Circle. The house was plenty big for the eight adults in our group, and we were all able to spread out, but also come together for meals and games. Although we didn’t use it, the hot tub was a great amenity. Our host was wonderful and very responsive when I contacted her with a question before booking and also when I needed to turn off the security system. We would highly recommend staying here.

We make a family trip and it was the best place for stay those days! Peaceful environment, the house was super clean and completely prepared with everything! You just need go and relax. Lovely and cozy house :)

We had an excellent stay at The Mountain Villa in early February. Hafþór and Björn were gracious hosts, responding to queries quickly and providing clear instructions to find and access the place. The villa itself was as charming and idillic as we had expected, everything was perfectly clean and tidy on arrival and the facilities were fantastic; we particularly enjoyed the sauna and cold plunge after long days exploring. Flúðir was a quiet little village but perfect for what we wanted, with enough options to eat and drink for the short time we were there, and easily walkable from the villa. The hospitality at Restaurant Minilik was particularly excellent, and the Secret Lagoon is definitely worth a visit too! The Mountain Villa was a perfect hub to explore the region, with lots of sights and walks within a 30 minute drive, and a good place to travel further into the South from. Overall, a perfect stay and we hope to visit again in the future! Thank you Hafþór and Björn!

We absolutely loved the location of this cute cabin! It’s only a few minutes from the town of Vik, but feels isolated with beautiful mountains and scenery around you. The cabin was very comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. Was a great place to stay while visiting surrounding areas each day.

This is a place I could’ve stayed at for a long time. A fantastically stocked kitchen and spacious living area. It comes across much larger than advertise. The best part of the place is its peaceful serenity, and its wonderful view. Good central location for doing day trips to check out many great locations that South Iceland provides. Would definitely stay here again, and again and again and again. 😊

Our family of four (2 adults, 2 teens) stayed here for a week in April, 2025. We found the log cabin the perfect home base for our trip. We loved starting our day with coffee on the deck, admiring the views and birdwatching and ending it on the deck in the hot tub with the Aurora Borealis overhead. Downtown Selfoss is about 25 mins away and there are two grocery stores and a bunch of restaurants. Check out the food hall. It’s an adorable city!

The house is spectacular, very comfortable, clean, spacious, with all amenities available. The landlady is very friendly and was always in touch, with local recommendations. The area is quiet and perfect for seeing the Northern Lights. The only drawback is that there is only one bathroom for many people. But it was already advertised like this. Without a doubt, if I go back to Iceland, I would go back. 100% recommended!
