KAIWA NO SATO This old house is an indigo mansion built in the first year of the Bunsei era (1804) during the heyday of indigo. The main house and the sleeping area (a barn where indigo was stored) have been demolished due to aging, but the historic living room and garden have been preserved to allow guests to experience a little bit of that time, and it is used as a farmhouse inn. In the old days, "Indigofera" grew on the fertile land of the Yoshino River basin in Tokushima Prefecture, bringing great wealth to Tokushima Prefecture (Awa Province). Ancient documents on indigo, including cultural properties, are also available for viewing. Enjoy the charm of that era and Indigofera. ＝＝＝＝ Feel free to pick and eat seasonal fruits and vegetables from the adjacent fields. * Please enjoy as many figs as you like in summer and autumn. Size: 108.5 ㎡ (1st floor 85 ㎡, 2nd floor 23.5 ㎡) If you need more than one bedroom, there are 2 Japanese-style rooms with 10 tatami mats in the back building (with separate entrances, toilets, and verandas), so you can use a total of 3 bedrooms. Please let us know at the time of booking. A total of 160 m² of space is available with an additional 51.5 m². For breakfast, we provide coffee, bread, butter, and eggs from Oniwa Farm. The old house, built over 100 years ago, has been renovated with a stylish interior. You can spend a relaxing time with close friends without worrying about other guests. In the large kitchen, you can buy ingredients at a nearby supermarket and enjoy cooking as you like. We deliberately do not have a TV. You can enjoy reading quietly or listening to your favorite music. It takes about 5 minutes on foot to the beach. You can surf, SUP, scuba dive, and play with the fish. You might like to stroll around the town of Shishikui, where the scent of the Showa period still lingers. There are many ways to spend your time. The cafe serves delicious bread, coffee, and deli (open Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm) and occasionally hosts events such as cooking classes and weddings.
