KAIWA NO SATO This old house is an indigo mansion built in the first year of the Bunsei era (1804) during the heyday of indigo. The main house and the sleeping area (a barn where indigo was stored) have been demolished due to aging, but the historic living room and garden have been preserved to allow guests to experience a little bit of that time, and it is used as a farmhouse inn. In the old days, "Indigofera" grew on the fertile land of the Yoshino River basin in Tokushima Prefecture, bringing great wealth to Tokushima Prefecture (Awa Province). Ancient documents on indigo, including cultural properties, are also available for viewing. Founded in 1957, my grandfather, Eiichi Tanuchi, ran an inn called Aiwasho for the cultural development of Tanabe City, Wakayama Prefecture. In order to continue to protect its history and traditions, his granddaughter, Kiushuko, reopened the inn under its original name in 2021. Built on the site of Ueno Castle, this inn is a traditional Japanese house with tatami mats on the floor. Please relax in one of the two Japanese-style rooms. The inn is located on a hill overlooking the city of Tanabe, so you can enjoy the morning sun, sunset, and night view. On a calm day, we recommend having tea in a wicker chair on the edge of the hinoki cypress wooden deck, which was made in the image of the moon viewing platform of the Katsura Imperial Villa. The newly installed bath and toilet are spacious and barrier-free, so you can bathe together or use them easily even if you need assistance. We installed popin.aladdin (lighting with projector) in one of the Japanese-style rooms. It projects on the sliding doors You can watch TV, music, movies, etc. Enjoy BGM on YouTube before you go out in the morning. My parents, Kisaku and Shuko Tanai (Japanese), live next to the house, so please let me know if you need anything.

It is in a very convenient location, about 550 m (about 7 minutes on foot) to Kumano Kodo and Kinkou Oji, a supermarket (A-COOP), a bus stop (Kodo Aruki no Sato Chikatsuyu), and restaurants (Shoji Teahouse and Tororo-ya). The owner is a local Kumano Kodo guide, so we will do our best to accommodate your questions and advice about walking the Kumano Kodo, as well as pick-up and drop-off when you need it. With that in mind, I took care of the empty Nishimura Residence. - Nishimura-Tei is originally a traditional Japanese house which has been here in Nara-machi town over 100 years, where my grandmother used to live in. My mother and I decided to renovate this house to preserve and pass down the virtue of good old days in Japan to the next generation as well as to show it to you.

I was a little worried because this Airbnb listing is new, but we’re so thankful that we stayed here. Honestly the pictures don’t do the place justice, it’s so beautiful: a perfect blend of traditional and modern. All the amenities are new and stylish and the hosts couldn’t be kinder. They own a local cafe nearby and I also recommend you spend some time there to enjoy lunch or a coffee, you won’t regret it! I’d also recommend you get some groceries before settling in, because the kitchen is great to prepare some meals in. We were running late, but the host was kind enough to take us to a local grocery store, such great hospitality! The area surrounding is a quiet and peaceful, but it gives you a little taste of the Japanese countryside and gets you away from the “gaijin hordes”. Please come and enjoy a few days here, can’t recommend it highly enough!

The boss replied quickly and helped us contact the car to pick us up as soon as we arrived at the station. It was already 12am. Thank you for your help. The next day, the boss came to pick us up from Osaka city in person because we were catching a flight. We were really grateful. The house is in a quiet location, you won't be disturbed; hygiene: spotless; location: about 20 minutes by car from the airport, about 30 minutes by subway, but the owner will be responsible for picking you up at the airport, if you drive yourself, it is highly recommended, great value for money, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery around, very comfortable. Communication: The boss is a Chinese student studying in Japan for many years, the communication is very smooth and the boss is very responsive. Space and hardware: There are four rooms, there is plenty of space in each room, there is also a hall, two toilets, dry and wet, and the kitchen also has corresponding kitchen utensils, microwave, etc., and the boss is fully equipped with toothbrush toiletries, bath towels, slippers, etc., the overall space is very sufficient, the building is private, it will not be disturbed by other people, it smells of home. Aki san's home is very good, right on the beach of Kusumoto, the house is clean and comfortable, but the highlight is Aki san himself, very welcoming, helped arrange the fishing activity the next morning, and personally picked us up and dropped us off at the pier, the fishing experience was also very interesting, I caught 30 fish!! Nearby you can dive, surf, kayak, the sea is very blue on a sunny day, it's beautiful There are so many advantages, I have already recommended it to friends, I hope to come back next time

This place was amazing! It is nestled in the mountain with the most spectacular view. The roads are extremely narrow and mostly single lane to the property, however it was completely worth it for the views, peace and tranquility. The photos don’t do it justice. Would love to come back!

What a magical place. Pictures don’t do it justice. The property was beautiful and the room was a peaceful getaway in itself. With the electric bike you can ride up to the end of the road and hike up to the temple which was beautiful. Miko and her staff were fantastic. One day she gave me a ride personally for a hike and an hour later it started to rain. I was prepared to walk all the way back, but she reached out to me herself and asked if I needed a ride , which I took, but I deeply appreciate it that she took initiative and make sure I was taken care of.
