The host was really very friendly. The area is perfect. You sleep in an old samurai house in the middle of the Samurai Garden. I can really recommend it to everyone!

Grandpa's flat 2:Central Sta 5 mins, free WI-FI

LorraineRating, 5 stars5 days ago
The best host we have ever had .They accommodated all our needs. When we discovered that no taxis could bring us the the ferry- Grandpa brought us to the dock- and refused to accept any money. Very clean place - windows let in fresh crisp air and sleeping was so comfortable in their bed. Plenty of room for our suitcases, washer available and a place to hang clothes on balcony and the cost was one of the least expensive in the city. Highly recommend. When looking to find the place- just know they are 5 or so minutes from the Kagoshima Chou stop. Centrally located to lots of great restaurants.

Ichinoku Shizuka

Zhang was friendly and helpful. She also answered all my questions very quickly and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. The location is great. A short walk to the famous sand sauna and a bus stop. There are many restaurants all within walking distance and we had no problem staying here without a car. Recommended.

(Arbor202) Kagoshima chuo sta 4min Up to 4 PAX

The price was cheap, but it was a good place to stay. It's great to stay in a Japanese-style room in such a center. However, it was listed, but there are really two futons, so be careful. It is a large futon, so it is okay, but it will be difficult for 4 people. It is easier to use if there is only a comforter for the number of people.

SOH-JIN HOUSE Enjoy the magnificent view of Nanjing Bay and Sakurajima, and the starry sky at night. Up to 5 people, for families and groups!

JohanneRating, 5 stars6 months ago
We had a fantastic stay here, the house is really cosy and comfortable, and the view is absolutely fantastic! I couldn't believe how beautiful it was, both at night and in the morning. We had breakfast on the wooden terrace, while admiring Sakurajima, and it was amazing. The hosts are incredibly friendly and kind, and made sure to welcome us and explain everything when we arrived, and then say goodbye when we checked out. They even gifted us some beautiful handmade coasters! We were thrilled with our stay, and hope we can stay here again in the future. Thank you again so much for everything!

Hotel Namaskar Kagoshima renovated vintage house

A Hidden Gem at the Edge of Japan—Tucked away in a quiet town at the southernmost tip of Kagoshima, this beautifully restored 100-year-old kominka felt like stumbling into a dream. Once thinking this place had “nothing,” I discovered everything I’d been searching for — peace, beauty, and soul. Dean, the owner and creator (who once lived in India), spent four years transforming the house with his own hands. Every detail, from curated kitchenware to soft linens, reflects his incredible taste. It’s stylish, yet deeply nostalgic. I especially loved the vinyl listening corner — rocking chair, warm analog sound, and a view that stirs the soul. Outside, kids ran barefoot on a huge grassy lawn, laughter carried on the breeze. Dean’s private local tour revealed hidden spots you’d never find on a map — unforgettable. As vegetarians, we enjoyed cooking in the fully stocked kitchen and adored the optional vegan catering by a local chef. Rain or shine, this place gives you something rare: the f

民泊みどりやね

The husband is Japanese and the wife is Taiwanese. It is nice for Chinese speaker. Communication is key obstacle when traveling to less developed area in Japan, need to use translating app. The house is traditional Japanese style. It is big and clean with a well structured kitchen and a front garden. They provided bicycle which is good transportation to travel Ibusuki in slow pace. They had nice suggestions to travel around Ibusuki. As we were traveling to Yakushima. They also proactively checked and provided us the latest information about the ship 🚢.
