Just a truly amazing stay. If you want to feel a true typical japanese experience, that is just the place for you. The couple who host are just the kindest/sweetest souls, and it was a real pleasure to meet them. Breakfasts were delicious and the coffee that they roast themselves is stellar. A place to stay is rarely the highlight of a trip (usually it's more the different activities during the day), but I have to say that this particular stay was the highlight of our Japan trip. The hosts also gave plenty of suggestions of activities to do around based on what we liked. Can't recommend this place enough. Completely deserved the already thousands of 5 stars review they got.
A functional kitchen area is illuminated by ceiling lights, featuring stainless steel countertops and modern appliances. A drying rack is mounted on the wall, while dual trash bins are positioned on the floor. The wooden beams add a touch of character to the clean space.

"The Land of Pristine Rivers! A private inn in Gifu Prefecture with an atrium and a cozy stay around the Irori fireplace!

It seems that there are many summer users, but we used it in the middle of winter.I was able to enjoy the snow scenery rarely seen due to heavy snowfall. It was very cold, but I enjoyed watching the fire in the wood stove and making teppanyaki and pot in the fireplace. The supermarket is the closest and about 16 minutes by car, so it's a good idea to come to the inn after shopping.Bugigawa Onsen, about 20 minutes by car, was also very good.I used the pizza oven to bake and eat pizza and bread in the snow.Fortunately, the snow stopped, so there was a problem with grilling and eating on the spot.I didn't feel that cold because there was no wind. The child was in unusual snow.(High school student) I think summer is a great place!

SanSui Guest House

FedericoRating, 5 stars5 months ago
Beautiful and comfortable house with a very nice Japanese style in a calm and walkable location. The host was very friendly and picked us up at the train station and then drove us back after check out. The house is at 5 minutes of a supermarket and 20 minutes walking from the old town of Takayama.
The exterior of the house features traditional wooden architecture with large windows that allow natural light to fill the interior. A stone pathway leads to a spacious courtyard, with greenery and flowers adding subtle color against the wooden facade.

/Villa MITORE-YA for Goto Travel at the foot of Hida Mountains

Wonderful experience staying at Villa Mitoreya. It's not your usual Airbnb, it's a lot more. The house is amazingly built with beautiful views and Tsuyoshi was an excellent host. He was present to welcome us, he went out of his way to drive us to a nearby restaurant so we didn't have to worry about parking and having a drink. His breakfast were delicious with many small details. It was like having a personal chef at home. We really enjoyed the peaceful environment and watching the local train pass in front of the house. It was like being in a Ghibli movie.
