Family-friendly vacation rentals in Izu

The owner was fantastic and very responsive, even took us to the local grocery store. The house is on the side of the hill in an incredibly quiet and serene location with complete privacy. The outdoor hot bath was incredible, too, and a great way to relax and unwind at the end of the day. Overall it was a great place to stay and would recommend it for anyone staying in Atami.

12 of us used it, Check-in was smooth and we were able to BBQ right away, so it was a very long time I had a pleasant stay.

It was nice to see Mt. Fuji in the morning.

The beach is right there, you can see the sea even if you are sitting in the dining room, the stars are beautiful, the location was great!It was a family trip for three generations, but I would like to come back again. There is no microwave, so I thought that if you have small children, you need to be creative with your belongings.

I live nearby.My son and his wife came with a baby. On the day of fireworks, accommodation costs for nearby ryokans are soaring, but this time, it was a weekday price even on holidays, and it felt like a great deal. Originally, when I booked by mistake for a month, they responded by rescheduling, and they were willing to handle forgotten items, and communication was very smooth.Thank you very much.

The sauna, water bath, and natural hot spring were all pleasant to use!The description of the facility was also easy to understand, and we had a comfortable stay.

We had an amazing time during our 3 day weekend ! Place was exactly as per the pictures and we had the feeling of being in another country ! Beach really close by (walkable distance but with hill to get back to the house), convenient store and grocery shopping near by if you have a car. Would happily come back for holidays !

Michael has a wonderful house, it is very beautiful and you can find a lot of cute details in the house. Michael is also a great host, very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

My family and I stayed here for three days and two nights, and we definitely had amazing experiences here. We reached quite late around 7pm but Kyoko-san patiently waited for us, greeted us and gave nice tour around the house. Even the home owner and the other co-hosts were very attentive and made sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. For the next two mornings, we were blessed; greeted by the lovely Mount Fuji and the view from the house was spectacular ❤️ We came here during the Eid month, so we even had family Eid photos here! Such memorable experiences, and we would definitely recommend this place to others :)

Yuji was really responsive and easy to communicate during our stay. It was an old house but I think the owner already tried his best to maintain and clean it (it’s just too old and had some stain and rust on places). There were trees and bushes surrounded the house - beautiful but yes a lot of bugs, and luckily not much got inside. There was not much to do nearby but would be good stopby to rest for a night. Considering the price it’s totally worth it. I’ll still give it 5 stars in overall.

We stayed in this lovely home just outside of town, nestled in nature, for one month and felt right at home. Abhi is a most generous and considerate host, he helped us out from start to finish and made sure we had the best time in the Shimoda area. You do not need a car if staying here as the beach and a couple of restaurants are only about a 10 min walk from the house and convenience store about 20 minutes and a couple more good restaurants / bars about 35 minutes. But if you want to visit more sites in the area or go to the grocery store we'd recommend a car. The main reason we were visiting the area was to dive with the huge schools of Hammerhead sharks just off the coast here. Without a car the dive center can pick you up. Excellent service and area, quite refreshing to be trusted and treated like an adult with swift answers to possible questions. Overall i recommend this place to all my friends who travel in groups of 5 or more.

This was a beautiful home for a very reasonable price. I loved the futons, the enclosed balcony, the bathtub and view…it is located up the mountains, but my 65 year old mother had no problem walking up or down. But I do recommend calling an Uber to check in with your luggage. Pulling it up the hills might be difficult. Cars usually stop running at 6pm so try to check in before then! We weren’t able to call a car for checkout, so we walked our luggage down the mountain with no problems! Small detail but They also provided much nicer toilet paper than some hotels even, so that was appreciated! The bus station is very convenient so we didn’t feel far away from other activities. But plan your dinners out because many of the restaurants hours aren’t accurate on Google. Best to call to reserve if you can! A very great stay for families or bigger groups!

I have stayed here many times, and it is my favorite inn.I left something behind at the inn this time, but it was very helpful that they handled it well.

Stayed only one night, but it was lovely. The cabin itself is tiny, but qiet comfortable, especially wanna point futons - i usually have troubles cuz it is way too hard for me, these were ok) Another good thing - private bbq place right at the entrance to cabin. Beach is literally in 2 mins, bus stop in 3) The town looks a bit dead....may be it was not a season yet. Nearest 7/11 in 25 mins walk. The host is very friendly and speaks english vell, so communication was easy.

We had a wonderful stay at Mitsuko’s house, and the view on the sea was amazing! The house is comfortable to stay for longer periods, with more than enough cooking utensils, cutlery and plates and cups for cooking. Definitely visit the local hotspring, and Manyo park in Yugawara for a relaxed day out. There are also some local busses for commuting to the nearest supermarkets.

Absolutely amazing place to get away. Very quiet, amazing views and the house had all the amenities you could need. Will definitely be back next year.

Cannot express how highly I recommend this place & Mizuno as a host. Beautiful beautiful scenery, stunning traditional home, and the location is great. We lost a bag and Mizuno was on top of it and helped us get it back within 2 hours. We look forward to being able to stay with Mizuno soon!

Situated within the woods, very quiet and peaceful area. Not touristy and easily accessed by car (although walkable to the lake by foot, it s pretty steep hilly road so may not be suitable to walk for elderly). Very cosy and clean place. highly recommend!

It was nice to be able to experience a traditional Japanese house. It was a good light to have a barbecue while looking at Mt. Fuji in the parking lot. The house was old but the linens were clean and fluffy. If you want to have a barbecue, it's good to prepare a table and a mat chair. The barbecue while looking at Mt. Fuji is the best!
