You can experience the history and traditions of the Hiraizumi area with all five senses, such as drinking hot water from Nanbu ironware, eating food from Suehiro lacquerware, and wearing hand-dyed work clothes from a Kyoto dyeworks. There are rice terraces and forests around the facility, and you can see Mt. Sukawa (Kurikoma) and the Yakeishi Mountains in the distance.
