Butterfly Cottage at Sunbird Hill, Kibale Forest edge operates entirely on solar energy. It has its own garden within my daughter's 40 acre estate adjacent to Kibale National Park. Julia is a primatologist who spent over 5 years habituating and studying the chimpanzees there. The chimps are not aware of the forest boundary, of course, and often visit Julia's land - especially when the fig trees are fruiting. There is an abundance of birds, butterflies and other interesting creatures.

A spacious sleeping area features a comfortable bed dressed in white linens with a navy throw. Two armchairs are positioned beside a circular wooden table. A television is mounted on the wall, and light filters through sheer curtains, creating a bright ambiance.

There are 2 full time staff to help with washing dishes and cleaning. The cottage is situated on 27 acres of private land with 800 meters of lawn on the crater lake rim - all to yourself. It is a 45 minute drive to the chimp tracking starting point. It’s a great spot to go for walks, runs, bike rides and swim in the crater lakes.

This place is GREAT! The views, furnishings and gardens made for a much needed peaceful stay. The private bathroom with HOT SHOWER was a relief after my day’s travel! Michelle is a great hostess and recommended nearby spots to eat and even a few restaurants that deliver. A private kitchen with bottled water, cups, plates, cookware and stove/cooking gas was available for my use. Spent a couple of hours in the morning just walking and sitting in the flower gardens on the property. Very peaceful. I’ll return here. I highly recommend the place.

We had a wonderful stay. Host and househelp were so incredibly friendly, flexible, communicative and accommodating. They even prepared our meals upon request. In case you are looking for a peaceful stay when in Kasese area (either for leisure or work) I can highly recommend this place.

A spacious bedroom features a wooden bed draped in a sheer canopy, complemented by soft linens. Natural light filters in, highlighting the minimalist decor. Adjacent, a small wicker side table sits against the wall, providing additional surface space.

Little Money is definitely worth visiting. we had a very nice stay.

Had a great stay at Summit. Extremely friendly people! We danced a bit with the hosts in the evening and can recommend everyone to ask Barbara and Angelica to show you around and hike up a little. The best guides and super friendly!
