How do I add a guidebook to my listing?
Guidebooks let hosts suggest local spots, like restaurants, grocery stores, parks, and attractions. Some cities also have neighborhood guides, which are combined lists of recommendations that hosts have added to their own guidebooks.
You can create a host guidebook only after you've completed the steps to list your space. You can create one guidebook for all of your listings or choose which listings a guidebook is associated with during the creation process. Existing guidebooks are accessible only by the primary host. If you’re a co-host, you may not have access to the guidebook.
To create or edit a guidebook
First log in to your Airbnb account using a browser (not on the Airbnb app).
- Go to your listings and select a listing
- Next to Guidebook, click Edit
- Click Create
- From here, you can edit the title and cover and choose which listings this guidebook is associated with
- Click Add to guidebook and you'll be prompted to enter places, neighborhoods, and city advice
- Follow the prompts and when you're done, click Done
You can also click Preview & print or Share to make your guidebook accessible outside the Airbnb website.
Because these guidebooks are public, you’ll need to remove your recommendations if you don’t want them to be shown to all guests on Airbnb.
Host recommendations in neighborhood guides
In neighborhood guides, recommendations from host guidebooks are used to provide a detailed picture of what guests can do in that city. Recommendations include a link to the host’s guidebook and listing. Featured recommendations change over time.
To determine which recommendations to use, our algorithms look at the most interesting content created around each location, based on informativeness, uniqueness, and representation of the place.
The best way to be featured in city guidebooks is to continue expanding your own host guidebook with your favorite places in the area.
Can’t find a neighborhood guide
At this time, not all places have a neighborhood guide. The best way to help one is to expand your own host guidebook with your recommendations. Once enough hosts create robust guidebooks, this info can be gathered together.
