Shag Point Retreat offers private gardens, a unique base for exploring and also a quiet respite “off the beaten track”. Close by a wide sweeping sandy bay. Or head to the Conservation reserve, a 10 minute walk - coastal views, seals and bird life abounds.

A 2nd DETACHED room as an additional bedroom is available (see photo, fees apply) The cottage is equipped with microwave, stove top, toaster, kettle and basic utensils to prepare a simple meal. Private, delightful garden & decks facing the sun. Outdoor seating provided. Your well behaved, house trained dog is welcome to stay. There are many great walks with scenic views. It is a self-contained cottage with everything you need for cooking and washing.

This is an entire apartment with views to the Ocean. It is cosy and quiet and only 5 minutes from Oamaru but set in a beautiful rural environment. A new kitchen, a cosy loungeroom and private courtyard with barbeque and separate entrance. Tea, coffee, milk and basic supplies in the pantry, homemade bread and a sample of our own honey . Private with lots of room to move, our place has a relaxing beach house feel. Surrounded by large lawns and native trees, it has ultimate privacy. We have a large veranda to enjoy the sunshine and a BBQ. It’s only a 5 minute walk from Hampden Beach, shops, cafes and local tavern. Just a 5 minutes drive to the Moeraki Boulders or a 20 minute walk along the beach. We are only a 25 minute drive south of Oamaru and 50 minutes north of Dunedin.

Buckley’s Retreat

We offer this unique tiny home with fantastic Ocean views. You can wake to the sunrise and watch the sunset at night all from your bed. We offer continental breakfast.
