We have had a wonderful time here. Keiko is indeed a great host who provided us with everything. She is an extremely thoughtful person and given to every details. Like other review, we can definitely stay longer as its so peaceful here. If you need some challenges, you can scale Mount Fukuchi.

house in a Japanese garden / Cycling / English

Koichi and Kanayo are the most incredible hosts we've ever encountered - they treated us as family from the moment we arrived. Truly lovely and generous people. They were proactive in helping us arrange activities and meals and taxis. The house and garden are peaceful and beautiful and layered with history (which Koichi and Kanayo happily explained to us). We had an amazing kaiseki dinner at one of their recommended restaurants. And if you have the opportunity to visit for the Oniyo festival on Jan 7, you should definitely do it!

Akizuki Gallery House

We stayed in Akizuki for 10 days. If you are looking for a quiet rural area and experiences with locals, you will find it here. We made such nice acquaintances and did not want to leave. Also Kerry was well taken care of us gave us tips for day trips and we saw so much to visit in the area. We appreciated the house and the garden and also the beautiful ceramic collection of Kerry. We will definitely come back. A thousand thanks to Kerry and his team for having us🙏
