Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Grímsnes- og Grafningshreppur

Our stay was truly magical. Magnús’s home is beautiful inside and out, and it's location in the Icelandic countryside is nothing short of stunning. We had to content with bad weather during our stay, and Magnús was extremely flexible in making sure we made it safely to the cabin, evening going so far as to allow us to delay our stay by a few days. A perfect getaway for my family. We cannot recommend it highly enough.

Helgi's accommodation is located in the middle of the Golden Circle, i.e. Geysir, Gullfoss, Geobad Laugarvatn Fontana, Geobad Hidden Lagoon Fludir and Phingvellir are all within easy reach. The house is ideal for families. There is also a hot tub that is a little off the beaten path between the trees. This is important, as hot tubs are generally very noisy when they heat or bubbles. This can be very disruptive at night, as it is easy to transfer vibrational noises. It's not Helgi because the hot tub is not on the terrace. Important for Aurora Hunter: The location of the house is ideal for aurora lights, as you are quickly on an open level without lights. We have been to Helgi's for the 2nd time now and can highly recommend everything.

I definitely recommend this beautiful and cozy cottage with a thermal pool, surrounded by beautiful Icelandic nature. The owners were always very friendly and helpful 😊

Fantastic house in a wonderful area. House was well stocked, clean and beautifully designed. The location was remote enough to see the Northern Lights but only 20 mins from the village. Will definitely be returning!

We spent a wonderful week in Selfoss. The cabin was located within a 30 min drive of so many of the natural wonders that Iceland offers, from spectacular water falls and geysers to volcano craters and natural hot water pools. The cabin is located in a private little forest, sheltered from the wind. We were seven guests in total and had plenty of space.

This is a beautiful house with very nice surroundings and mountain views. The house had everything we needed for a pleasant and enjoyable stay. Being there was peaceful and the silence was amazing. The house is well insulated and was warm, despite the cold northerly wind we had, very nice floor heating and fire place. The house is an architectural marvel filled with very nice artwork.

If you are looking to stay near the National Park and enjoy a private, incredibly quite relaxing trip, this is the most amazing choice. For us this home was the perfect space, incredible design, stunning views with impeccable lighting. We needed to rest and relax while exploring the vast landscape of Iceland and this was beyond perfect. We will absolutely be back.

WOW! That is the best description of Geirthruder's place. Maybe even more perfect than the photos. A perfect location to easily check out the Golden Circle The layout of her house is great with the living area dividing the two bedroom areas. Easy entrance, over-the-top kitchen, cozy woodburning fireplace, presitine in every way.... and THE VIEW!!! And the quiet!!! We cooked a good bit, just for fun. There is an amazing food market just a few minutes away (which was a highlight of our stay), Little Farmers Market. Staying at Geirthrudur's is a must!!!

A great Airbnb. Modernly furnished but totally cozy. We felt right at home. The hot tub on the terrace: a dream. Great to find with the description. The hosts are always available by phone and take excellent care.

Stayed here with 3 families. The scenery is beautiful and the house is clean and comfortable. Hot tub was awesome! Lots to do within an hour drive but need to plan for food and grocery shopping while you are out, there’s nothing within a several min drive. We did have some trouble initially with getting to the property, but plug in the coordinates on maps. Also some issue with getting through the outer gate but Heimaleiga was responsive, you have to call them initially to open the gate and then there is a mobile phone you can use for the rest of your stay. There is a travel brochure that they will send you through Air B N B with a ton of info about the place but I didn’t get mine until after we had arrived. I think this would have helped. We were there in mid August and the bedroom got very hot at night, we had to open the windows but there are no screens on the windows so a bunch of flies got in. Screens on at least some of the windows would be my biggest recommendation!

We stayed at Omar's house for a week over New Year's Eve. We had a very nice time and were also lucky with the weather. We were able to do a lot and had northern lights on three evenings. The house is as described and the location is beautiful. We had a 4x4 with spikes. It was necessary to get to the house, as the roads were very icy and snowy. But that wasn't a problem. We would stay here again any time.

It's our third trip to Iceland and this is our favourite Airbnb so far. The surroundings is beautiful and quiet. The house itself is wonderful, comfortable and very clean. The hosts have really put in a lot of thought and effort to ensure that we have a great experience and want for nothing. Highly recommended!

A beautiful home and wonderful stay! The house was beautifully appointed, with modern yet lush furnishings and even luxury spa products. It had plenty of kitchen and bathroom supplies - spices, dishes, appliances, utensils, towels, etc. When there was something missing, the hosts immediately stopped by to replace or even purchase it. The iPad provide had all the necessary instructions and information (including on hot tub operation).

Silvia had the most magical home and was the nicest host ever!! She was so communicative and helped answer any of our questions super quickly. We loved her home and got to see the northern lights from the house!!
