In the state-approved resort of Zella-Mehlis, we have converted the attic of the "Villa Anschütz" into a cozy apartment with a lot of love for detail. The villa was built in 1911 by the founding company of the world-famous Anschütz Sportwaffen. The view of the over 100-year-old beech and the ancient rhododendron bushes - almost trees - in the garden is breathtaking. The original beams of the roof structure, illuminated with warm light, make the apartment particularly cozy.

We stayed with two dogs at Jochen's place. The surroundings are fantastic, you can explore great hiking trails directly from the apartment and for holidays with a dog this apartment and the location is a dream. The apartment is very large and well equipped, nothing is missing. The bed is super comfortable and the quiet location gives you a very relaxing and good sleep. Unfortunately, we did not meet Jochen himself, but his wife is very, very nice and we felt right at home. We would definitely book this place again if we are drawn in that direction again.

We had a completely successful stay at Nicole and Helga's! The apartment was very clean, lovingly decorated and well equipped – ideal for our three-day hiking holiday in the Thuringian Forest. Nicole and Helga are exceptionally warm and accommodating hosts. Upon arrival, we felt immediately welcome. Even during our stay, they were at our side with valuable tips about the surroundings. After extensive hikes in the beautiful nature of the Thuringian Forest, we were able to end the day in the evening relaxing on the balcony – simply wonderful! We loved our stay in this spacious renovated apartment. We liked the huge bathroom and the kitchen was well equipped (but no microwave which is usual for us but apparently common in Germany). The apartment is in a quiet area a short walk to the city centre. Nice balcony too! Sebastian was a delightful host, always available to answer any questions or offer suggestions. Checkin and out was so simple too. Highly recommend this apartment.

The apartment is very nicely located in the center of Schmalkalden. The apartment is well appointed and was very clean. Getting there is a bit complicated, as Google Maps approaches the building from the front, here is a kind of green area, not the parking lot. It would have been nice if it had been pointed out that the 3rd bedroom is a walk-through room to one of the other bedrooms. All in all, a nice stay in a very modern, tidy and well-equipped apartment.

Ideal as a starting point for a hike to the Wartburg with a little more time to the Dragon Gorge. The apartment is very nicely decorated and has everything and more than you need. Check-in via the key box went smoothly. We really enjoyed the stay and would be happy to come back sometime.
