Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Friendship

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Samantha's place in Cushing. To say that she is "very responsive" would be an understatement. She typically responded within 10 minutes no matter what my question was. She lives a short distance away which really helped facilitate things. We had a minor issue with the Internet which required communication with the service provider, but she coordinated everything and resolved it right away. The house is totally charming - old, a bit creaky and adorable - and well maintained (no issues there). We imagined how great it would be to visit in wintertime and snuggle up to a roaring fire. They have an expansive yard with gardens great for a short evening stroll. Forest habitat behind the property was great for bird watching. The area is absolutely beautiful - quintissential coastal Maine. The Olson House (local attraction) is a few minutes drive from the house. The grounds have a walking trail along the water with fantastic views of the coast.

This was our first experience with an Air B&B and happy that it was with Spencer. Our main reason for the East Coast trip was to see our grandsons football games at Bowdoin College and it was a perfect location. We stayed for seven weeks and loved the experience.

This was our second vist to Shirley's place, It is super convenient to my family. Met Shirley this time around. Super sweet. Love the house it is comfortable and the dogs loved the fenced in deck to just out and get some fresh air.

We had a wonderful stay at this Maine house--Barb, the property manager was incredibly responsive, helped with a heating issue while we were there and had the repairs done same day--The house was well equipped with everything you need for a family getaway at the beach! puzzles and games galore, kitchen was fully stocked with everything needed for family meals (including lobster cooking essentials--bibs, crackers, steam pots) Great little fire pit out front which we enjoyed, and fenced in back yard area so pets or kids can be safely contained :) Linens, towels, all clean and provided--truly a wonderful home away from home, perfect for our family trip to the beach!

Beautiful place and great host. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to get away for a weekend.

Belfast is a great town. Loved we could travel to other areas to explore and have a place to come back to rest. For us, the bed was very uncomfortable. We loved having a fenced in area for our dogs that came on vacation with us. Awesome Stephanie accepts dogs which is the entire reason we picked her home. Stephanie is a great host and very responsive when we had a few questions.

My husband and I rented this place for our wedding venue. Kim was great at communicating what was needed for us to use her place as a venue. The location was absolutely stunning! The home was clean and easy to check in. A few things that need to be more clear is the sleeping arrangements. There are only 3 bedrooms. The rest of the sleeping areas are pull out beds in common areas. It can sleep many people but they all have to sleep in the downstairs together. For this reason, it was a little pricey. We don’t regret renting this place for our venue and are grateful for Kim letting us check in early. Kim was a great host!

We absolutely loved our stay! We rented the house for 7 adults and 1 dog to celebrate a 31st bday! We loved being able to walk right down to the tasting room for a beer, cook a big dinner in the kitchen, play games, and watch the amazing vcr collection. Everything was clean and comfortable. So glad it’s a dog friendly space!

I stayed there for two weeks and I would stay again. It was very quiet which is my number one need. Two it was clean. Three nice kitchen with all the appliances you need. Four Jeanmarie answered all questions quickly and clearly. Five lots of room in the house. Six it was nice and warm in the winter weather.

My return visit to the Boathouse was even lovelier than I hoped it would be. The location can't be matched by anything else I've seen. I enjoyed a September visit with my dog and was lucky to have pristine weather. I lived a very simple and healthy outdoors life and came home the better for it. The Boathouse is true to its description: it is simple and rustic and uncomplicated but well-equipped, and is perfect for one-and-dog, or for two people. A little coming-and-going from the neighboring houses meant that I didn't feel isolated. Margaret is truly an exceptional and friendly host who communicates promptly and clearly. I almost hesitate to share "my" Boathouse location with too many of my back-home friends because it feels so intimate and special. I already want to be back there. I offer my deep thanks to Margaret and to the place that I could - briefly - call home.

BEAUTIFUL Home!! Tons of space to relax and spread out with our family! The beds were very comfortable! We really appreciated all of the bathrooms for our group! The kitchen was huge and so handy for preparing meals! I absolutely loved the style and atmosphere of this wonderful home! We also loved being able to bring our dogs!! We had a lovely time and we would most definitely come back!!! 🥰

This is a beautiful home, with everything you could need for a relaxing vacation. We stayed in mid March and even though it was the off season, there was plenty to do. Even our Boston Terrier had a great time running in the garden. The local recommendations made by Larry were excellent. If you get a chance to book this location, I highly recommend it.

My wife and I spent 2 nights here while traveling Maine. It was very relaxing and exactly what we needed towards the end of our trip. It was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced but I would absolutely do it again! We also fell in love with this restaurant down the road called “Farmhouse Beer Garden”.

I had a great month exploring Maine with my dog from this garage apartment. The owners are friendly but not intrusive. Some days my dog and I just laid a blanket on the grass and sat in the beautiful backyard. Go to Pickles Potions and get the body oil, it helped me keep bugs away.

Our family and I had a wonderful stay at Jackies, we are all originally from maine, and her home gives you everything great about maine. We really felt at home, it snowed christmas eve which made it even more beautiful ( The driveway was plowed out early as well). I brought a small christmas tree with us on our trip up, and when we walked in, the place was decorated for christmas, which was just amazing and so thoughtful. We definitly plan on staying again, the next time we are back in maine. Thank you again Jackie!

This trip was a very last minute thing for us. Our 4 year old pup was diagnosed with cancer and we just want him to be happy whether he has to leave us tomorrow or in two years. Kent made everything so perfect for us. With our dog going through chemo, he’s been “off” lately. We Didn’t know how he’d be with other people or dogs, he’s been weird when I HUG him sometimes… just going through it, ya know? Kent arranged times for us to go on the ferry with no other guests just to help us and our pup feel comfortable. It was the best trip ever. I cannot tell you how badly you need this trip😂. It couldn’t have been better. Make sure to use bug spray (or just have a fire going all the time, the bugs don’t like that haha), bring at least two books if you’re a reader, it’s AMAZING! GO OUT ON THE KAYAKS! Check out stars at night! Our first night we were stargazing and I saw THREE shooting stars and I finally looked up why I saw so many in such a short time and there was a meteor shower happening!

Staying at Paul and Shankari’s retreat home was lovely. There was plenty of space for all of us (about 14 people) and the hosts left us great instructions and amenities.

Wendy's home is just as described (private, down a long dirt drive) and the photos are accurate. Your pets will love this location too. As a previous reviewer stated, this is a very loved, lived in home. We did not take our dogs this time, but will the next time. It was great to find a place close to our Maine family that accepts pets. The downstairs bed is queen, the upstairs is full. This plan worked perfectly for 3 adults. It was nice to have a downstairs 1/2 bath. The kitchen is nice and roomy, with a huge frig and stove/oven. We would stay here again and take our dogs.

We feel so lucky we were able to stay here - it was perfect for our needs, and pretty much perfect generally. Trying to think if I've had a better Airbnb experience - I don't think so. It was quiet, peaceful, beautiful and private - but close to the wedding events we were attending. House layout was ideal; lots of separation between the upstairs bedrooms (my husband getting up for snacks in the middle of the night didn't wake me up, and my going out for an early morning walk didn't disturb him). I would love to return and bring my son and his girlfriend to take advantage of the third bedroom on the main floor. Clean, pretty, and overall just a really pleasant ambience, also thanks to our gracious hosts. I have to say I was a little bit worried when I saw they live in the other half of the house, but honestly, if I hadn't read that, I would have had no idea (except for maybe the fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies greeting us).

Our stay at Linda’s was perfect. The setting was quiet, secluded, peaceful and relaxing. Easy access to Camden, Rockport and Rockland—the perfect location. Very clean with many amenities. Linda met us on arrival and showed us around. She had fresh fruit and muffins for us and gave good restaurant and activity recommendations. She was friendly, helpful, and attentive to our needs. She is a super host and a super lady! We highly recommend her and will stay with her again on our next visit to Camden!

The thought and care Lisa puts into providing guests with comfortable and pristine accommodations starts with her first communications before arrival and carries through from first day on property to the last waive goodbye! Lisa ensures that all you have to worry about is waking up in time for the gorgeous sunrise and her tasty pot of coffee, lacing up shoes for a walk across the plush green lawn down to the water (with your dog if bringing), and popping into your car for daily outings that she will gladly supplement with recommendations! If you're bringing a dog, I can confirm that everything Lisa describes in that regard is true! There is so much space to run around and play fetch, work on training skills, and just relax! Only regret on this trip was not carving out more time to take in the view and fresh air from the deck -- make sure you do!!
