Vacation rentals in Flying Fish Cove

Nigel and his wife are super nice. I arrived on a day when the supermarkets were closed and he dropped off an esky with some soup his wife made, snags and buns and a couple of beers. What a legend. Accommodation does show it's age, but Nigel seems to be making regular improvements.

Nigel was the nicest host! We got in late but he was waiting at the airport to show us the way to the bnb. Everything had closed and I needed a coke so he went to his own place and generously brought me two, this is just how accommodating he was. There was a bike waiting to be used, snorkeling gear available and suggestions on where to see the most birds, as I was there to take bird photos. All in all probably the best Airbnb I have ever been to! It is an older place right by the ocean so the wear and tear on it was there but him and his partner work so hard to make it comfortable and pleasant. The place was spotless and I was afraid there would be some small bugs or such but there were none! I would gladly recommend this place and readily stay there again! Thanks for the cokes Nigel, your the best!

Like coming home! I had a two bedroom apartment with a large kitchen and views from my front door to the ocean. Nigel was the most amazing host! He served the whole apartment dinner and hosted the most marvelous party for one of the guest’s 50th anniversary. He is generous and gracious as a host. He lent his vehicle to help me explore the island better and was a fantastic tour guide himself!!! The location of the apartments is right within walking distance to some of the best snorkeling on the island as well as the shops and pub. He has kayaks to hire as well as fishing gear to help enhance your experience. You really can’t beat the value and the hospitality. I will absolutely return when I’m back on Christmas Island!

We’ve stayed at Nigel‘s place before. He and Ruby are always very helpful and hospitable. My elderly father in particular loves staying there. It’s the most affordable place to stay on the island and is exactly as described - nothing fancy but very comfortable and good value.

Anita was great to deal with, very friendly and responsive. The space was in a great location and came equipped with everything we needed to feel at home during our time on Christmas Island. A great find!

If you want to experience the value of a rough diamond this place and Nigel are the perfect example. Nothing is too much trouble and Nigel’s knowledge of the island and history adds so much value to your stay.

Emma and Alexander are outstanding hosts! They both were very responsive and helpful throughout our stay. Their cottage is very clean, spacious, and has very comfortable furniture. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything one needs to cook meals as well. We really enjoyed being close to the ocean and all the beautiful birds around their home. It was a lovely place to spend a holiday!
