The Oaks, Twyford Moors, South Downs National Park

There is WIFI and a large dining table to work at. There is a fully equipped kitchen. The bed is a Superking. The Oaks is annexed to our house, so we are available to answer any queries, give guidance on places to visit and dine and usually we will be available to show you the property in person. Twyford Moors is an area of outstanding natural beauty in the South Downs National Park. The River Itchen, a famous chalk stream, is close by. This is also Jane Austen country—visit her home at Chawton, and Winchester Cathedral, where she's buried. There are beautiful riverside walks including a 2hr walk into the heart of Winchester along the water meadows and by St Catherine's Hill. There are country pubs and excellent restaurants available locally and 15 mins drive away in Winchester There is parking for one car under cover in the car port but also room in the drive for a second vehicle . There are some beautiful walks along the River Itchen nearby. The outdoor terrace area to The Oaks is not enclosed and young children would need to be observed when outside. We have two, small friendly dogs that may visit your terraced area as it is not enclosed.

This light and airy open plan, ground floor apartment is a newly converted, completely self-contained extension of our home and therefore provides accommodation with no household mixing. Ideal in these strange COVID times. It has a kitchen/diner lounge area, a shower room, bedroom and parking, ideally suited for a very comfortable stay where you can cater all meals for yourself. Fantastic rural retreat! Gorgeous cosy space, very private with own secluded garden. Everything that you need for a relaxing break. Five miles from both Winchester and Romsey, a fifteen minute walk to the lovely village of Hursley with its two pubs and great walks! Perfect for IBM Hursley, Peppa Pig World/Paultons Park, the New Forest (25 minutes) and beaches (40 minutes). You can be in Southampton with cinemas, bowling, shopping etc in 20 minutes. A great exploring base!

This is a brilliant place to stay. very nice hosts. i was on a sailing course and it was perfect. lots of space to do my homework. Very pleasant friendly hosts. i would stay again. Great value. Room like home!

We had a lovely stay. Simon was so helpful, always quick to reply and provided us with local recommendations. The shepherds hut was lovely, so relaxing, clean tidy, with everything we needed yet still feeling minimal and rustic. The log burner is a lovely touch, and kitchen and bathroom amenities were all fantastic. We would recommend this lovely place to anyone!

Myself and my partner had the most beautiful night away. It was so peaceful, everything you could think of could be found - even extras that were so thoughtful. The hosts were friendly and so helpful. It was an escape from reality that we will most be definitely attending again very soon. We loved it.

We felt like coming home. We enjoyed the beautiful garden and the wonderful equipped living- room and dining area. The breakfast was great and the tips for Restaurants etc. very helpful. Our dog was welcome, too. We definitely recommand These wonderful quiet place.

We had a lovely stay at Highbury House. It was the perfect size for our group of 7 (4 adults and 3 children). It was spotlessly clean and fresh and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The welcome basket was much appreciated and Darren was easy to communicate with. Would recommend this house and would happily stay again.

Steven was a very welcoming host, who gave me advise on where I could go to eat or buy food and prepare in his kitchen. The room was very comfortable and had a sparkling en-suite. He had 2 lovely cats who I found very friendly. I would definitely book with him if I was looking in the area again.

We had a wonderful stay in one of the cabins in the woods at Marwell Resort. The cabin was exactly as described – cosy, clean, and well-equipped, offering the perfect blend of comfort and rustic charm. Nestled amongst the trees, it provided a peaceful and private setting that felt like a true escape from the hustle and bustle. There’s plenty to do on site, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Whether you’re after a bit of adventure or simply want to relax in nature, there’s something for everyone. The facilities are excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommended for couples, families or anyone looking for a relaxing break with plenty of activities right on your doorstep. We’ll definitely be returning!
