What you'll do

So, we’ll start by meeting in Chinon, an incredibly beautiful medieval town- Think Chateaux, small narrow streets, on a river, central cafes and beautiful boutique shops... then throw in some of the most important historical moments and figures in France’s history- Joan of Arc, Henry Plantagenêt, Eleanor of Aquitaine... This is before we’ve even left town! So leaving town, we’ll ride through local villages and hamlets, with the view of the countryside, the vineyards, the small wine producers which litter the valley, feasting your eyes on the beautiful Loire architecture. We’ll then make a trip to three local wine producers where you can sample their sparkling, rose, white and red wines, each working to the quality label demanded by the Chinon AOC. The region produces 97-98% of their wine with just one grape variety- The Cabernet Franc. The other 2-3% is the Chenin grape for white wine. We’ll also stop off at a beautiful location for a picnic during the tour, sampling local produce from the region created by a friend of mine who is a Boulanger in town- think great baguettes and sweet pastries! During the tour we'll explore the vineyards themselves, you’ll get to find out about the lifecycle of a vine, the importance of wine to the region, the different type of wines produced in Chinon, meet some of the producers as well as visiting their caves.

I offer fully guided cycling tours & vineyard tours designed to meet your needs, whilst offering you the opportunity to explore some of the most beautiful vineyards and caves in & around Chinon, as well as sampling some of the very best wines in the Loire Valley! I’m WSET (Wine Spirit Education Trust) level 2 qualified in wine, I've worked in vineyards and I love what I do- I want to share this passion with as many people as possible- I want you to go home with a newfound passion for the wines of the region, and also the town itself which really is a little secret within the Loire Valley.

This was my favorite thing we did during our week in Paris and the Loire Valley! What gal doesn’t dream of riding a bike through the French countryside, tasting amazing wine? Quintin was accommodating of our request to not exhaust ourselves and the ride was easy, while still visiting some amazing wineries and caves! The lunch by the river was fantastic too. I was genuinely sad to leave Quintin at the end of the tour. He was so informative, personable, and entertaining. It felt like we were hanging out with a friend, rather than a tour guide. He has a real passion for wine, and was able to answer all of our questions simply and without judgement. Our French isn’t great, so it was nice to have someone translate when needed. I only wish we would’ve had room in our suitcase to bring more wine home. If we come back to the area, we will definitely do this tour again!

My family and I had a great day with Quintin. He had planned our tour well and led it superbly. 3 lovely wine tastings in different vineyards/caves, lots of interesting facts about the region and winemaking, and a delicious picnic lunch. Enjoyed by us all, aged 15 upwards (to our 50’s!). All in all a fun day, thank you Quintin!

This was such a fantastic day. We tried wine from a diverse set of wineries and he clearly knew the area. By the end of the day we felt like we were comfortable in Chinon. And biking through the countryside was magical.

Merci, Quintin.

This was a unique and unforgettable experience. Quintin can arrange beautiful bike rides for any rider, and adjust the ride in the moment so everyone feels comfortable. Our party varied with 3 active adults in our 30s + 2 older adults in their 60s + 1 toddler. I felt safe with my toddler in a toddler seat. I provided him with a helmet from home, but they may have one at the bike shop. Quintin had excellent communication leading up to the day. He his organized, easy-going and friendly. He organized 3 unique winery visits, and provided an incredible lunch for us. He was able to adjust our ride to meet the needs of everyone. It was so easy to organize this trip thanks to Quintin. We were in safe hands. Chinon is beautiful city and countryside. I highly recommend Quintin to everyone of all skill sets.
