What you'll do

Food is an important part of human culture. It tells a lot about our history and our way of life. That’s why a great way to experience the culture of a people is going to a local Farmers’ Market. On this tour around Gloria Street Market, you’ll be able to learn some Brazilian History and experience our lifestyle from a foodie point of view!

We’ll have a walk through the stalls and taste typical fruits and snacks, while learning some curious facts about them and about Brazilian food culture and History, as well as its relations with music and arts. We’ll feel the spirit of the streets of Rio in a fun and informal way, mingling with locals and interacting with vendors.

Then, we'll go to Praça Paris, one of the most beautiful parks in Rio, where we’ll have a delicious picnic with more fruit tasting, natural juice and popular Brazilian sweets, that you can’t leave the country without trying. There, we'll be able to chat and share our sensations about the experience.

I invite you to join me and literally have a taste of Rio and Brazil on this exciting experience! Let’s go?

I’ve been part of the team of important cultural venues in Rio de Janeiro, such as Imperator and Teatro Riachuelo Rio and I’ve been studying arts, music and Brazilian popular culture since then. I love showing visitors from all over the world around Rio, a city I'm passionate about.

More tips

Since we’ll be at a street market, bathrooms are hard to find. We're also going to be eating with our hands and not every place has seats. I’ll provide extra napkins and hand sanitizers. :)
