Located in Agrigento, Kolymbethra Garden is a shaded corner of paradise, where centuries-old olive trees prosper and where the citrus fruits flood the Valley of the Temples with their fragrances.
The meeting point is at the Kolymbethra entrance (inside the Valley of the Temples). We will welcome you in our paradise of citrus fruits. Our expert of botanic and gardening will show you our property and explain all the secrets and the variety of oranges, lemons and other citrus fruits. We will never forget this lovely lady or this day. The lady in question is Maria Theresia who gave us an unforgettable tour of the Kolymbethra Garden. Maria showed us around the 650 different orange trees and it was certainly not just a regular guided tour, oh no, Maria squeezed pink oranges straight from the tree and offered us the good juice. It tasted heavenly. We got to taste several different kinds of oranges, but also small Limoncello lemons which were actually sweet and the popular Bergamott lemon that flavor Earl Gray. This is an unforgettable memory!

Kolymbethra garden is alive with history, and we were lucky to visit it when the place was abundant with citrus fruits, some of which we’ve never seen. This tour is a must for winter visitors to the Valley of Temples! Marco, our guide, told us everything about citrus cultivation, local culture of olive and almond production and about his research on almond tree varieties, history and rehabilitation of the garden, and let us experience and bring home different varieties of oranges and lemons. With so many varieties and trees it was just amazing to see how Marco knew and picked the right ones for us. They were the best tasting oranges we’ve ever had, ripen on trees. We really enjoyed our time in Kolymbethra with Marco. Thank you for the rare opportunity!!
