What you'll do

Herd camels, milk goats, and experience the life of Mongolia's nomads.

We'll drive south from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia's capital, into the Gobi Desert to stay with our nomadic host family.

You'll participate in the nomadic way of life, including milking goats, making cream and milk tea, wrangling horses, and crafting products from animal skins. We’ll eat delicious traditional Mongolian meals prepared by the family.

When we’re not spending time with the family, we’ll camp at the base of Zorgol Khairkhan Mountain, hike and sled on sand dunes, and visit Gobi’s spectacular forests and caves.

  • Day 1
    Camping with wild nature!
    Wild camping in the countryside---Mongolia is the perfect place to camp!
  • Day 2
    Will visit my home (nomad family)
    We will meet with the family members in the warm atmosphere..
  • Day 3
    To milking goats or camels....
    To learn how to make dairy products prepared by the nomadic family.
  • Day 4
    Herding camels..
    Also will visit the well to see how nomads to water their cattle..
  • Day 5
    Drive to Nyarav’s small sand dune..
    Hiking, to sled in the sand and to make pictures by passing a good time.
  • Day 6
    Will leaving family
    We will thank the received family, will make a memorial pictures with them.
  • Day 7
    Will drive back Ulaanbaatar.
    Will arrive in UB where overnight Gobigirl guest house.

I was born and grew up in the nomadic family in the Gobi, since my maturity until now I still living in nomadic lifestyle by herding my cattle. I like to travel so in 2006 I received a translator’s profession due to my interests and hobbies and until now, me and my husband we were engaged in the tourism sector. Therefore, we organize specific tours as we show the nomadic lifestyle and our homeland to the foreign tourists as in the recent years we were followed the lifestyle of the nomadic family. My sincere goals are to promote the lifestyle and culture of the nomadic people to the world.

Where you'll be

We'll start and end our trip in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia's capital city. We'll drive 540 km (336 miles) south into South Gobi Province to stay with our host family, then visit Zorgol Khairkhan mountain.

I think this experience is totally different from other tour companies. Bolormaa brought us the very local spots where almost no tourists can see. Also, experiencing Mongolian nomad lifestyle made me learned a lot of stuff. I really appreciate the nature in Mongolia, and touching the Mongolian culture from her family definitely keeps you impressive.
