A lovely experience tasting an assortment of Makgeolli while making your own batch to take with you. Definitely worth it for those wanting to taste authentic Korean flavours while learning about a drink that at least I had only briefly experienced before. The shop also has a great selection of various types of Korean alcohol for purchase and is worth the stop by itself. Strongly recommended!

Chi Seung is very knowledgeable, and patient.
His instructions are clear and the flow of the class is very easy to follow.
I found a new appreciation in enjoying makgeoli after going through the class and making makgeoli myself. And discovered I liked traditional makgeoli more.

My sister and I had a fantastic time learning how to make makgeolli, and were delighted at all the materials we got to try and keep! The tasting was very good, the class was extremely informative, and we had so much fun. We would definitely go again!

The class was informative and fun, and the instructor gave lots of good tips. Can’t wait to try making makgeolli myself back home! The location is held in a Korean liquor store where there are tastings available for more Korean alcohol, lots of interesting items to pick up! Def recommend the experience.

About me
Second generation Makgeolli brewer
I am a 24-year old brewer who first made my own Makgeolli when I was 11. I soon fell in love with this culture and established my own shop, Sool Dangdang, to share this culture with people from different countries. I am truly dedicated to Korea's Makgeolli culture. If you're interested in Makgeolli or Soju, I'm the one you've been looking for.
