What you'll do

A small-group walking tour is the best way to see Oxford, a vibrant city steeped in history with amazing architecture & the prestigious Oxford University. Enjoy a relaxed & informative tour any time of the year come rain or shine with a small group of people. You will see Oxford's most famous sites, discover parts of the city that many visitors don't see, see inside a college (*), hear about Oxford's literary greats & see Harry Potter film locations. Along the route, you will see ancient buildings, colleges, theatres, libraries, a market, gardens and a tranquil river. We visit a Gelatia for award-winning gelato or the best hot chocolate, then later an ancient pub to cool down in the summer & warm up in the winter!

Most Oxford tours are with large groups lasting just 90 minutes, whereas guests who have taken this small group, 2.5-hour tour, love it’s intimate & relaxed nature, plus they enjoy meeting fellow travellers from the Airbnb community - I hope you do as well. Come as a stranger, leave as a friend!

During the current COVID-19 UK restrictions the health and well-being of my guests is extremely important, so measures such as face masks, hand sanitisation, group size limited to 6 and keeping to quieter areas will be applied. Note that the University and Colleges are currently closed to visitors.

Oxford has always been my home, where I enjoy its architecture, history & culture. I took early retirement from a Customer Service Director role & decided to share my passion for this wonderful city with you.

I have travelled around the World through work & pleasure enjoying the diverse cultures & incredible sites we are so lucky to have. Through this Worldwide travel, local knowledge and personable style, I have created a tour that I believe you will thoroughly enjoy. I am now in my third year of guiding and my customer reviews suggest that I've created an enjoyable tour! So go on, book a family-friendly tour for a memorable few hours.

Where you'll be

You will visit some of Oxford's 'must-see' historical sites; colleges, theatres, libraries, markets, gardens, tranquil rivers & ancient pubs. You will also see where oxford's literary greats (J. R. R. Tolkien, C. S. Lewis & Lewis Carroll ) studied & worked, plus you can see where the Harry Potter films were shot. We also get to see inside one of Oxford's excellent colleges, assuming its open on the day of the tour.

Throughly enjoyed the Tour, took my mum for her birthday and she loves history and architecture and I didn’t think I would enjoy it as much as I did, Oxford really is a magical place full of stories. Tony is friendly and interesting, had a good sense of what interested us and didn’t talk to much about one place. With the restrictions we weren’t able to enter some places but it didn’t matter too much and will still managed to grab a hot chocolate at the famous ‘I Scream’ shop which was amazing!

The tour was great. Tony was very personable & knowledgable. His style was laid back & didn't 'blind us with science'. He didn't assume we already had knowledge of Oxford. He was like a friend & he allowed us to join in with our own stories. It was well worth the money
