What you'll do

Discover Glastonbury, guided by the trees. Take a meandering walk around Glastonbury's beautiful countryside, enjoying spectacular views of Somerset and visiting some places of outstanding natural beauty.

Your guide, Matt, has a keen knowledge of the local area, and has been a resident of Glastonbury for 8 years. Matt will guide you around Glastonbury's countryside, he'll provide some personal insights into the landscape, interesting sights, main tourist attractions, activities, and idyllic spots too.

Walks are slow paced. Some time is spent sitting quietly with wonderful views, to rest, listen to the sounds of nature, and enjoy a private acoustic performance of gentle folk music by Matt.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain a unique perspective on
Avalon. Matt has a range of interests and is keen to make conversation on topics such as nature, creative inspiration, spirituality, mythology, bardic tradition and the magic of Avalon.

Let's walk to the trees.

  • Identity verified
I have been a resident of Glastonbury for 8 years and have a keen interest and knowledge of the surrounding countryside, in particular, the trees and tree identification, folklore and local traditions. I hold regular public walks throughout the year as well as private tours for visitors.

I am also a local Bard and I write songs and poetry dedicated to the landscape and trees, I work this creative element into the walk too.

Here are some positive comments received from guests of my walks:

"That was so lovely today, you're a really lovely tour guide. It felt so easy going and natural. With lots of nice stories and facts about the trees. Thank you." Kat

"Thanks Matt was a really good walk and such a lovely group just what I needed" - Kate

"Wonderful walk with Matt Witt, trees, songs, natures beauty, what more could you want?" - Michael
