1895 Victorian flat w/ 12 ft ceilings. (No Long Term Rentals or couples) Close to Mission, & 2.5 blocks from Castro theater. MUNI is 3 blocks away. Room is small and cosy, and great value for one of the most expensive neighborhoods in the US!
We live in an 1895 Victorian top flat with 12 foot ceilings on the best block in San Francisco. Our calendar is always up to date. Location Location Location~ Our home is close to the Mission, Lower Haight, and 2.5 blocks from the Castro theater. The underground is 3 blocks away, with a street car even closer. The room is small and cosy, but a great price for one of the most expensive neighborhoods in the US! Please fill out your profile if you are interested~and make sure to arrange a time to meet prior to your arrival, I lead a busy lifestyle, work full time, and wouldn't want to miss anyone! Check in is at 5 and we are 37 steps up from street level. Restaurants are plentiful and beautiful Dolores Park is quite close. Your room has a twin day bed 75 inches long with a desk and a solid door. The room is 9.25 feet by 8 feet. Amenities include wireless and a gorgeous full kitchen. We have one cat that enjoys company almost as much as we do and a sweet rescue pooch. Our flat gets more light than any other home I've been to in my 13 years of living in this great town. For all you foodies out there BiRite Creamery, Tartine, Delfina's Pizza and Proper are within 4.5 blocks of our front door. Michelin rated Range is just a few farther. As much as we love bikes, and we do, we don't have space for storage. If you rent one please return it at the end of the day or lock up on the street at your own risk. Please ask if you would like to have a friend for a short visit.
  • Nice place, excellent host!

  • Brenda is very welcoming and kind host. The apartment is located in the heart of the Castro, close to stores, bars, cafes. The room is perfect for a single traveler. Staying at Brenda's was a pleasure and I recommend it highly!

  • Brenda, Thank you for my wonderful stay in my old neighborhood. I failed to mention bc we started talking about all sorts of things, but I used to live right on dorland st and it brought me back to such happiness. Give boo and moomoo kisses, and lmk when you're in ny! <3 C

    Connie2013-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Brenda has a gorgeous home, and she is awesome! I am so glad I got to meet her. I loved her beyond-adorable pets as well- they brightened my stay :-) Would love to stay with her again.

  • My host, Brenda, made the trip a total first class experience. She was like a sister or best friend. The whole flat is spacious, homey, and very clean. If you want to be in the Castro area, this accommodation is ideal. I cannot rave enough about this trip and Airbnb experience.

    Gary2012-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • Staying with Brenda was a fantastic first Airbnb experience. Her place was lovely and comfortable, and she was great to talk with and very laid back. Boo and Moomoo were excellent hosts as well! The location was as convenient as I had hoped. I'd definitely stay here when back in SF!

    Chris2014-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great stay with Brenda, her flatmate and her pets :) She's a genial and sweet host and we always had nice conversations. Her house is really perfectly located between Castro and the Mission, you can reach any place in the city easily! The house and the room are finely decorated. I felt at home and would have loved to stay longer there! Thanks Brenda!!

  • This was my first time using Air BnB and Brenda gave me a great first experience. She was very welcoming, friendly and helpful, providing me with lots of useful info on the local area. As the name suggests, the apartment is perfectly located, surrounded by excellent cafes, restaurants and bars and just a short walk to the Muni Metro for easy access to downtown. The room was perfect for my needs and I slept well every night. I would definitely use Air BnB again and highly recommend Brenda and her apartment.

One bedroom sanctuary with a beautiful garden view and cozy fireplace. Comes with it's own entrance just steps from bus lines, train, and all that Haight Street has to offer. Complete privacy with a separate bedroom, bathroom, and breakfast bar. There is a pull-out twin bed in the living room as well.
If you want to be within walking distance to Golden Gate Park, Haight St, Buena Vista Park, and Cole Valley, this is the spot. Full size bed in the bedroom with 400 thread count sheets and a pull-out twin in the living room. Just installed fireplace and large screen tv makes hanging out fun in the comfortable living room. Bathroom has a shower within the tub and white fluffy towels.
You will hear from many that this is the best neighborhood in SF. I chose this area for the many Victorian homes, the ease of mass transit, the walkability, and the abundance of parks, restaurants, and nightlife nearby. As a recent transplant to this area I can tell you that the stores, coffee shops, restaurants, and pubs are great here. I forget I have a car most of the time! Street parking is easy except for Wednesday 8-10 due to street cleaning.
  • We loved staying in Sara's garden retreat. It was exactly as described and the pictures are true to life. It is a lovely, lovely apartment. The location was perfect for us too. Loads of amazing houses to admire (just like in the movies), breakfast at the cool coffee houses on Cole, then an easy bus ride to any of the key tourist attractions in San Francisco. Sara made us feel very welcome at the same time as giving us space to come and go as we pleased. I would thoroughly recommend staying here.

    Catherine2015-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Very welcoming host! We loved the fresh cookies and all of the amenities. Unit and neighborhood exactly as described in the listing! A great place for spending the holidays in SF!

    Whitney2014-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Sara is a great host - super friendly and communicative. Her apartment has a great location, 1 block from Haight-Ashbury with great shopping/food/drink/nightlife options on your doorstep but on a quiet residential street. We went to see the famous 'painted ladies' but to be honest Sara's neighbourhood has a far more beautiful housing stock and architecture. There are also a couple of beautiful parks nearby with amazing views. Every other neighbourhood of SF is within a 10-15min drive so this is the perfect base to explore from. Thanks Sara!

    Jonathan2017-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Sara was so easy to work with and friendly. The space was clean and comfortable, really eclectic and fun neighborhood! This was our first Airbnb experience and if we had known how nice this was going to be, we definitely would have stayed longer. Boo was also very sweet and fun to hang with in the backyard!!

    Celina2014-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had a delightful experience staying at Sara's airbnb in the Haight. The accommodation was very comfortable, especially the beds (even the pull-out); and Sara had provided coffee, tea, orange juice and a couple of beers, so we felt very welcome. The room is very quiet and convenient for the bus into town, and Sara allowed us to use her quality washing machine, so we couldn't have asked for anything more - thanks Sara!

    Kathryn2015-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time staying at Sara's apartment. It was a beautifully decorated, comfortable, relaxing retreat which was a delight to return to after long days exploring San Francisco. The neighbourhood was safe and exiting to explore and public transport was seconds away. Sara was great to communicate with and highly accommodating with our check in & out times. I would highly recommend her apartment to anyone visiting SF.

    Marie2015-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed staying at Sara's. It was easy (including the free parking on street) and really close to Haight Street/Golden Gate Park. It was comfy - so much so we wanted to stay in more rather than see the sights (we did see the sights, though!) We were made to feel very welcome and there was lots of good local info to hand too. We would definitely recommend this to others.

Relax around the fire pit on the private patio at this garden Craftsman studio. Smooth concrete, edison bulb lighting, and chunky furniture create an industrial look, while the open-plan layout keeps things relaxed and comfortable.
This studio promises to absolutely take your breath away upon first sight. Cool and romantic, carefully decorated and recently renovated by master architects; the space gives you plenty of room to breath while still retaining a sense of invigorating calm. Abundantly spacious with the addition of our beautiful back garden and shack - this home guarantees the stay of a life time.
The Outer Richmond holds all of the excitement of San Francisco while retaining a low-key feel. Nowhere else has unique and delicious eateries, a surfers' beach, museums, parks, hiking, and historical sites all within close walking distance.
  • Josh's place is just as beautiful as in the pictures if not more so! It's a studio layout and it flows so well! Definitely felt at home. It's cozy and inviting. I wish we had more time to just chill and enjoy the backyard, but my sister and I were on a mission to see all of San Fran in two days! We slept like babies! Josh communicated very well and checked in to make sure we were alright and didn't need anything during our stay. I'd definitely stay there again in the future!

  • Wonderful stay in San Francisco. Loved being near the beach, Golden Gate Park, and incredible cliff views of the Pacific. The space was a perfect place for my mom and I to stay for our first trip to San Francisco. Thanks Josh!

  • I recomend this apt. It is very well equiped. It has a backyard with lobely flowers that I would have liked to spend more time if it would have not been winter time. Think twice if you want to rent a car as Uber works very well and parking in SF could be a nightmare and very expensive.

  • I loved staying here! Jeff and Mike were welcoming and helpful hosts, the room itself is separate from their own home so it feels very private, and it's just steps away from great restaurants and shops on Fillmore. I will be recommending this place to friends and family traveling to San Francisco. Thank you again!

    Aja2015-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • I found the room and set up as I expect and Jeffrey was kind and helpful. The location is in one of my favorite SF neighborhoods. Parking was a breeze. Thank you!

    Bill2016-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Clean and as listed. Check in was easy.

    Kyle2016-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Jeffrey was cool and helpful throughout the stay. The room was clean and the amenities exceeded my expectations. The private restroom is roomy and very clean with towels and toiletries available. The closet space is also very big if you need to put things in there. The neighborhood is very nice and all walking distance. We had a car and parking overnight is free on the side streets, just check the signs for street cleaning. It turned out for our trip this location was amazingly centered as downtown, land ends, SF bridge, Fishermen's wharf all felt equal distant which is all convenient.

    Phi2015-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place was absolutely perfect. Jeffrey was a great host and it was just as described. There are tons of excellent restaurants nearby and in a great location. Would definitely stay here agin!

This beautiful two bedroom/one bath apartment is located in the Castro/Duboce Triangle and in walking distance to Upper and Lower Haight, NOPA, and the Mission. Lot's of transportation, corner stores, grocery stores, and fantastic restaurants are in walking distance. If you come with car, street parking is quite easy here but it is restricted. However, there is paid parking around the corner at the hospital garage and there is also a street nearby where you can park your car for a week.
What I love most about the apartment is how truly bright it is. Big windows allow for lot's of natural lighting. The space is quite big (for San Francisco standards) with a nice large kitchen for cooking and socializing. The guest room is facing the back which is quiet and shielded from street noise.
The neighborhood is quiet and safe with cute little streets, beautiful houses and lot's of parks. And if you are in the mood for entertainment you only need to walk a few block to find great places to eat and drink and people watch.
  • Anka is a lovely host and her place is gorgeous, would definitely stay here again.

Welcome to "The Mission," the sunniest neighborhood in town. Enjoy world-class dining, shopping, and nightlife on Valencia, or a Tartine picnic in Dolores Park, all just steps from our 100 year old home. We've been Hosts since Airbnb's 1st year (2009), and can suggest restaurants or insider sight-seeing ideas. We love our home, our hometown, and our neighborhood, and we look forward to sharing them with you. PLEASE click below to read more about this private room and bath in a shared home.
Your sunny room looks out over a lush garden, and includes all the comforts of home... Queen bed, sofa, dresser, closet, and a rocking chair. Just up the hall, your private bathroom has a "like rain" shower head over a clawfoot tub. (The bathroom is not "en-suite.") For a third guest (or for two guests who want separate beds) there is a full second bedroom available. ($60/night, and only available if you book Mission Sunshine.)
Located between Valencia Street and Dolores Park, we are in a great location for exploring the Mission, as well as the rest of San Francisco. It's an easy walk to the Castro, Haight Street, Hayes Valley, and Noe Valley. And we're close to BART and Muni, so it's easy to visit the Ferry Building, Union Square, Downtown... Everywhere! Then again, you might not want to leave the neighborhood at all... Here's a very incomplete list of spots within 4 blocks of our home: Foodie Heaven: Tartine, Delfina, Bi Rite Market, Mission Chinese Food, Locanda, Foreign Cinema, BiRite Creamery, the list goes on - and seems to grow daily! Shopping: 826 Valencia (Dave Eggers' Pirate Supply Store!), Paxton Gate, Curiosities for Kids, Beta Brand, Mission Bicycle, Self Edge, Weston Wear, Shoe Biz... Dolores Park, the Chapel (for live music), Clarion Alley (home to the CAMP Mural project), the Women's Building (maybe the most famous of the famous Mission Murals), Mission Pool (seasonal outdoor swimming, walk there in your towel, it's 3 doors down!)...
  • Ivan and Wendy were great, and so was our trip! This was the first time we've used airbnb and it was an excellent experience. Ivan & Wendy were great hosts, providing helpful pointers when we needed them, but mostly giving us the space we needed to come and go as we saw the city. And what a city it is! We loved it! If you are looking to stay in the Mission District, Ivan & Wendy's house is the PERFECT place! Seriously, it could not have been better located. Great restaurants and coffee abound in every direction, super close to Dolores Park, and you can walk down Mission Street (and then back up Valencia). Spectacular! Great experience! :-)

    Christian2013-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Wendy and Ivan's home in the Mission district is beautiful and it's location could not be better for getting to interesting restaurants, bars and shops as well as to public transportation. I extended a business trip and appreciated much to stay with such friendly people in such a colourful and lively surrounding. The guest bedroom and bathroom are spacious, super clean and quiet. The bed is very comfortable. Ivan was easy to talk to and he was always open for all my questions regarding the city and the surrounding. Milo is their neat little dog and easy to be around. Wendy was travelling, but fortunately I could speak to her before I left. I will recommend Ivan and Wendy and her place to my colleagues and friends. Thank you so much for the nice days.

    Julia2013-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Ivan was a kind & laidback host. He was very friendly to my partner, who accompanied me on this trip to SF. The neighborhood is primo, the space beautiful. Especially the bathroom! Be aware that you're paying for the location. It's more of a bedroom/bathroom situation than a private suite. The hosts spent a lot of time upstairs, so if you want privacy, you'll need to stay in your quarters.

    Cynthia2015-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • it was a really nice, clean place to stay! a great area. and the house is very beautiful, we had a great time in sf!!! thanks a lot!

    Claudia2013-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • It was our first time in San Francisco and the first time we used airbnb. We were so happy to stay with Ivan and Wendy. They were excellent hosts! We haven fallen in love with their beautiful house and their crazy lemon trees. They were so helpful and gave us many tips not only for San Francisco but also for Yosemite National Park and Death Valley. Everything is as descriped. The sun porch is an awesome place to relax. Busses, BART, Dolores Park and The Castro are all within walking distance. The Mission is not so touristic and that gives you a feeling to be in the "real" San Francisco. Make sure you don't miss the impressing street art in the side streets! There are so many great restaurants only five minutes away from Ivan's and Wendy's place that we weren't even able to check them all out. Especially if you are a vegetarian or vegan the Mission is the best place to stay in San Francisco - and if you stay with Ivan and Wendy your stay will be perfect.

    Bianca2014-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our time at Ivan's. The bed was comfortable and everything was immaculate . Nice size rooms . Bath was large but if you are not comfortable standing in a claw foot tub it might be a concern for you. Worked fine for us and Ivan was around when we left in the morning and we enjoyed talking with him about the area. Very well situated in the heart of the Mission and there are restaurants and bakeries and shops galore . Ivan was helpful with info regarding traveling in from SFO which was great . We recommend this host and his fabulous dog Milo.

    Barbara2015-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Ivan and Wendy were so great! I have never rented a room in a house before and felt very welcomed! Ivan and Wendy were very intentional and asked about our needs while we stayed. It was a great location and would def stay there again.

This is a cozy private room w/ a full bed (and optional twin air mattress upon request) and flat screen TV w/ free Netflix. You get to use kitchen during your stay (fridge, microwave, stove/oven, dishes, coffee, etc.) and 2 bathrooms (kitchen & bathrooms shared w/ other guests). You'll have free/easy street parking, be a quick 14 min drive from SFO, 3 min walk to T train (which takes you downtown and AT&T Park), and a 13 min drive to downtown and AT&T Park. You'll be in the heart of it all! :)
Please note that while your rooms are 100% private with a lock on it that only you will have, you will be sharing the kitchen and two bathrooms with three other Airbnb rooms. This is part of the fun though as you can meet different people from around the world who are staying here with you. Access to the kitchen and bathrooms is usually fine as most people spend the majority of their time out and about in the city, but sometimes during peak travel times you may feel the house being a little more full. So to be very clear, you will see several other Airbnb guests in the home who are living close to you (the nature of such a dense city as San Francisco) and sharing the kitchen and bathrooms, but as you can see in the reviews that my guests have loved their time here as people are usually very friendly and respectful. Also please note that the skylight above you is the only window access in this room.
  • This place rocks. Check yourself in and get situated in this special home. There are multiple rooms rented out here, but the vibe is chill and welcoming through and through. Two toilets w/ showers and a kitchen/living room area for meals and laughs. I recommend the stay. Give it a try!

  • Gracious and accommodating host, great stay!

  • Sean and Selah are very good people. I enjoyed thoroughly my stay in their apartment. We had a very good communication. I strongly recommend their place.

    Satyajit2018-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Sean was a great host, very accessible and responsive whenever I needed to contact him. Everything was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the coffee maker in the kitchen was a nice plus! I would probably stay in this room again, but would bring earplugs - some of the other guests were noisy in the middle of the night (around 3am) which made for a rough night of sleep. Overall, a good experience!

    Ella2017-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • It was our first time using Airbnb and I'm glad I did. Sean was very involved and helpful even before we got to the home. We had everything we needed, restrooms were clean and price was good. He was very attentive and we appreciate it that a lot. I liked how we had the train less than two blocks away, the cost is $2.75 and it took us all the way to el Barcadero. Fisherman's wharf was at walking distance and also pier 39. You can find the main stop for the cable cars which is also at a walking distance. It was really convenient. On our way back we used lyft and it was definitely worth it since we didn't have to leave earlier and we enjoyed more around the city. Thank you Sean

  • This is probably the first review that I have ever written and it is because Sean and his wife Selah are fantastic hosts and great people! Everything about them is wonderful and I highly encourage for everyone reading my review to not hesitate with booking with the Blakey's! Definitely my best experience in SF thus far!

This home has a nice sized private bedroom with a queen sized futon mattress for 1 guest and shared use of the breakfast nook located in the kitchen area which can be used for office or eating or relaxing. The back of the home where the bedroom is located is very private and quiet. The kitchen is shared and lightly used. The bathroom is shared and has a full bath and shower for your use. Laundry facility is 4 blocks away. This home is centrally located in the Sunset District in between the hustling and bustling restaurants and bars of inner sunsets 9th Ave. to the east and the Ocean with its beautiful beaches and sightseeing to the west. It is a 4 block walk to Golden Gate Park and a 3 block walk to the N Judah metro which will take you to downtown S.F. in 30m, or to the ocean in 10m. There are restaurants, bars and markets within blocks of walking distance and the 9th Ave corridor is only a 10m metro ride or a nice brisk walk along the Irving Street commercial corridor. Amenities include WiFi, clean towels, soap, tea, coffee. And most of all a friendly host that will be happy to assist in directions and tips on getting around.
Close to the Ocean and blocks from Golden Gate Park. Quiet neighborhood. Easy transportation.
  • Allen was the bomb! Super gracious host, always helpful and attentive. He wasn't really around very much, so I pretty much had the place to myself. When he was home, we definitely clicked and had lots of great conversations. He even took me to lunch one day up the street by the beach... (what a guy!)He also helped me learn about the area and where to eat and play etc. Golden Gate Park is literally right up the street! If you stay here don't miss opportunities for morning strolls/ runs / meditating/ reading/ whatever you like to do at the park. It's a predominately Chinese neighborhood which made for some amazing restaurants at super good prices and a really cool and different cultural experience I wasn't quite expecting. Absolutely loved my stay! Highly recommend staying.

  • I had a great time on Allen's house. The room is incredibly comfortable and well located. Everything was pretty clean and organized. I didn't have any issue during my stay so I really recommend it.

  • The host was great. He welcome us into his house and made us feel like it was our own. We couldnt talk a lot because he had to travel, but he gave us answers for all of our questions. Then he left us the place just for us. While he was traveling we contacted him and he responded right away. Also his roommate was really silent and we never cross ways with him. A package was delivered to him for us, and he left it in the kitchen. We had a great time at Allen place, also because although it seems far away, with a map and a muni pass you get anywhere really fast. Thank you allen for everything. Hope we meet again in Argentina, and if we ever go back to SF we will stay at your place again!

    Antonela2014-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great time staying with Allen! The house is in a nice quiet area of SF and only a few blocks from Golden Gate Park! The room is spacious and private. Allen is really cool and we had some good chats and he gave me lots of tips for things to do in the city. Thanks Allen for a great stay - look forward to catching up again!

  • Allen is a very nice guy. He provided a very lovely house for my friend and me. San Francisco impressed me very much. I love this wonderful place.

    Rachel2015-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great host, great location, great experience. Shame we didn't get to see more of him but overall he was very accommodating. Would highly reccommend Allen's space.

    Gary2015-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Allen was a fantastic host - the house was very clean and he was extremely flexible in terms of check-in timing. For most of our stay, we felt like we had our own private section of the house, which was wonderful when we wanted to spend some quiet time together. He was also there to guide us on what to do around San Francisco. Would definitely recommend this place!!

    Laksh2014-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Allen is very friendly, respectful. He gave me my space when I was there. I would recommend to stay in this place. The place is really nice, the neighborhood is nice. No issues.

  • Ultimately, I'm a flexible digital nomad that sees living in the city as a privilege and adventure so my month worked out quite well and i was able to see the space improve greatly in a short time. There were a few issues that sprung up when things were still being renovated, but sergey and company were lightning quick and professional at dealing with everything. Wifi bandwidth was usually around 5-15 mbps d/l; could be a little faster. Currently its a bare bones arrangement but awesome location, decently sized ventilated, warm rooms and extremely friendly staff/hosts made it a good time.

  • Stephens place is in a great location and close to the trolley & muni bus routes. Uber is so cheap especially if you share a ride. The space is quite busy, its a library for Stephen & Brians large book collection. They have lots of pamphlets of local attractions, restaurants etc. Duboce Ave cafe is fab & such varied food choices. Visiting from England food is quite different but main difference is the portions. BIG!

  • Stephens place was in a great location in the Castro neighborhood within walking distance of many local hot spots. The bed was very comfortable, and plenty of linens were provided. They hosted a new years eve party while we were there, and invited us to enjoy it with them. :)

  • We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed it very much, Stephen and Brian helped us to get along in the city especially with the parking permits which worked out very fine and we got some great advices where to go and what to eat. Close by is the metro but I can recommend the advice of Stephen to take the Ford bikes they are just perfect and pricy, really great place to explore the whole city!

We really appreciated the details, and the location was really good too! It was close to golden gate bridge and there was plenty of street parking, as well as free parking in a park nearby. Highly recommend staying at Colleen's place.

Really enjoyed staying here!

    Sascha2017-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Budi’s place is in a great location. It’s away from all the city hustle bustle but still in the city. Convenient location for transportation. He’s responds back to questions that you may have. Thanks again Budi!

    Sam2018-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Pros: Budi and Pat were very nice. Neat and comfy bedroom and access to the kitchen. Coffee and tea were readily available. Water and travel guides were provided. Nice location near Asian restaurants/shops and the Golden Gate Park. The parking spot alone made this place worth it, but it seemed like we were only able to park there because we checked in first. The couple who arrived shortly afterwards seemed upset... not sure what they ended up doing, since the whole neighborhood is metered 2-hour parking. Try to ask about the spot beforehand and make sure it won't be filled by another guest, since the description makes it sound guaranteed! Cons: although the kitchen and bathroom were superficially clean, upon closer inspection they were grimy. Dust, stains, hairs... they needed a deep clean. When I went to the bathroom in the middle of the night, there were 5-6 huge daddy-long-legs hanging around the room, including one ON the roll of toilet paper. I'm not too squeamish but that bothered me! I was kinda scared to shower, but I did... water pressure was inconsistent. Bathroom was shared with 2-4 other guests so we had to wait to use it several times, which I guess we were warned about. It's an old house and you can hear everything. Overall we slept ok and it was fine for one night and the parking space was a lifesaver, but I feel like I didn't know what I was getting into! The bathroom would have been a deal breaker if I had seen it beforehand.

Private room with private bathroom on ground floor of the house. Very clean guest room with hardwood floors through out. Room get a lot of afternoon sun. Located in the Sunset district, right next to Golden Gate park. One block from public transportation.
  • Jeff’s place was perfect for a short weekend getaway. A few things to note: Cons: •there is no tv in the room •walls are paper thin. You can hear everything happening above you so that means they probably hear everything below them ;) •the bathroom vanity is small. If you’re like me and have a lot of make up or other items, there is little to no space to set those items on which is annoying when trying to get ready in the mornings. Pros: •Uber ride to the main attractions (Alamo Park, union Square, fisherman’s Wharf, Coit Tower) is CHEAP $5-$10. The airport is about 25 minutes depending on traffic and roughly a 20-25$ uber drive depending on 1-2 passengers. •WiFi Available •Private Entrance Jeff’s home is the perfect size. It’s location is safe. Although this is a private room and not an “entire space” listing, it felt very private. We never had any interaction with the host which was fine because my husband and I are private people. You have your own gate entrance which has a lock. Then an additional door into the home, plus a lock on your room. So there’s a total of three locks which made me feel safe. The bathroom is connected to your room as well. Extra towels, pillows, and blankets were provided in the room closet. We never had access to the kitchen or any other areas of the house so I’m not sure if those are available or not upon request. We didn’t need these amenities during our stay. Jeff was quick to respond but we had little communication after check in. We would definitely stay here again when visiting SF.

  • We found everything as described. Jeff was nice and really helpful!

    Astrid2017-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff's place is in a great location! Right across the street from Golden Gate Park, 20 minutes from Sausalito and Marin, 20 minutes from downtown San Francisco, and about 5 minutes from Ocean Beach. Very centrally located! His place is also right around the corner from stores, restaurants, and bakeries. Jeff and his family were very thoughtful and quick to respond to any message. The space is also very safe, with an outer gate and two doors with locks. Definitely recommend!

    Kristen2018-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff is very quick to responds to inquiries. He is a discret host, and is extraordinarily helpful. Thank you Jeff!

  • Location was great and Jeff was very accommodating!!

    Henry2018-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • There was almost no interaction with the host except when I needed help. The host was really responsive to my questions and request. The place is less than 3 min walk from the Golden Gate Park. I really liked the location and have taken quite a few walks there. Nearby are Asian restaurants and Walgreens. Will recommend.

    Kan2017-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • I loved Jeff’s place! The neighborhood is quiet and safe. There’s a lot of privacy since the room is separate from the main house, and the room was clean and well decorated, but the most important thing is that Jeff was an awesome host, and really made sure I had everything I needed during my stay!

  • A wonderful time in Noe Valley, SF! We couldn't have asked for a better place to call home for 5 days. It's a beautifully renovated studio apartment- 20 mins (walk) from Twins Peak, 10 mins from the delicious Noe Valley Bakery, and a blink away from a scenic view of the city. Transportation to downtown or to other parts of the city was easy (roughly 30-60 mins depending where you're headed). The apartment was clean and ready by the time we arrived. Key swap was easy. We were left little sticky notes to help us navigate the apartment. And Arcene was always a text away!

    Jenny2016-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Arcene’s place was exactly as described and pictured. The perfect studio for a stay in San Francisco. Check in and out was a breeze and the location was central to everything we wanted to do while there. I would definitely stay here again!

  • Arcene’s place is perfect for a stay in SF! While it is definitely a studio in size and set up, it was very updated, had all the amenities promised, and perfect for my husband and me. The neighborhood was also great, very residential and relaxed.

  • We had a great experience at this studio. It was a great, quiet location in the city. An easy walk to great coffee and great breakfast. But far enough away to keep things peaceful and to have easy (although incredibly steep) parking communication was easy and thorough. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

Delmar Cottage is located on a quiet street in the Ashbury Heights neighborhood. The unit is a perfect for a single or couple. The studio has everything a home should provide. There is a full kitchen and the living area includes chairs and a writing desk. The windows look out onto a garden. Walk to nearby Cole Valley for shopping and restaurants or to catch the N-Judah muni train downtown. Bus lines are nearby. Buena Vista Park and Golden Gate Park are within walking destinations.
  • Jan was a great host, He would get back to me within a day for a response. The place was in a great location with beautiful parks around within walking distance. I was working on my computer so Wifi was crucial for me and would get frustrated because of the limited range I had. Although, got me to check out the local coffee shops and they made up for it. They were very understanding on the checkout time. They also were understanding with my dog, which was amazing in this city. Loved the backyard and sitting down whenever the weather allowed me too. Thank You, Jan

    Abstract2018-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • I have to agree with almost all issues written by Maksym. Location is really great and safe. Jan was responsive but conversation was not productive. He did not solve problem with WiFi. He only helped to get rid of the ants. Yes - here you can find ants. What is good - he agreed for late check out. However did not inform clean service about that. What is important - it's an agency offer, not private. I had a problem to get paper copy of the rental agreement. I received it just before leave. WiFi is really bad and it is frustrating, especially because Jan promissed to solve this problem. He brought a signal extender once time, however it didn't work because signal quality was too low. He did not propose any other solution after that. Mobile network coverage is also very low. It was a big challenge to get access to the Internet. Finally, the worst was smell. The unit can be old but it does not justify this horrible smell everywhere in the unit. Because we stayed one month, I feel musty smell in all our clothes. This unit has a potential but customer service is on really bad level. If you pay, then they will not care about you. It is not what I expected.

    Anna2018-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • Loved my stay! The place is a wonderful quiet retreat. So nice to have the garden out the back to let the fresh air in on a sunny day.

    Chris2019-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here with a friend while we were interning downtown for the summer and we enjoyed our stay. The location is great, in a nice neighborhood and with public transportation walking distance away. The unit itself is nice and comfortable and Jan responds to questions within a day. Occasionally the WiFi was a bit slow, but other than that everything was very good. Having laundry available at the unit was especially convenient. Overall we had a nice stay and would recommend this place to other travelers.

    Erica2018-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Our experience with the place was at most bearable, here’s why. The Good: - nice and very quiet neighborhood - owner of the property was kind, helpful and responded to issues - washing machine and drier, those are new - company’s direct call support was responsive and helpful - there’s nice patio area The Bad: - Jan was only responsive during the initial booking, he didn’t respond at all during our check in (24h+) as well as usually answering was taking so long that it was very frustrating. - We didn’t receive the check-in instruction, that we supposed to by email. Only the key, rest we had to figure out. No wi-fi password to. - It was a bit hard initially to arrange the washing machines, but once established with the owner of property it was easier thereafter. - The mobile network reception is quite bad, which could be compensated by wi-fi, but… - The wi-fi network reception is close to unusable (it’s not in the unit at all), something needs to be improved (e.g. wi-fi repeater) - Sunlight is only during couple hours throughout whole day, which is fine if you don’t spend much time there. The Ugly: - the smell of really old place were noticeable each time we came home, even when we left windows open - shower drain doesn’t work well and through the time we stayed it got almost to stand still - the carpet didn’t seem were cleaned properly in a decade, because it stank badly when a bit of water from the bathroom went on it. - the closet smells so bad that we didn’t risk to put our clothes inside - the only other place to store clothes was commode, while less smelly, clothes were absorbing it so we had to keep those in bags - the supposed-to-be patio place was really a field filled with dog’s feces, the situation was fixed upon first request Overall I believe that the unit have a potential and the landlord(s) have to improve the place and the experience before it’s really usable, otherwise it doesn’t even worth the half of the price, for the full price it’s like SF housing evil joke. The Buena Vista (company managing the property) definitely has internal issues, where people are not responsible for things and don’t care much about customers, this is not what usual AirBnB experience looks like.

Stay right in the HEART of San Francisco, overlooking a gorgeous park that includes the famous Painted Ladies! RIGHT by Golden Gate Park, numerous restaurants, bars, boutiques etc. It is in Alamo Square, lower Divisadero area, and a short walk to Hayes Valley, Capitol Building, Symphony, Asian Art Museum, Haight, and numerous other sites. The apartment has a Queen bed and a king sized couch-bed. There is a 4-6 person dining area and a desk. Garage parking and laundry in basement.
This is also my home, and available when I'm traveling. The apartment will be graciously appointed with plenty of clean linens, towels, kitchen basics, wifi, cable, etcetera. Dressers will be cleared for convenient storage and my things relocated to a storage closet. There is an elevator, secure entry, and the apartment itself also has an alarm system for extra security. Access to parking and laundry in the basement are included.
Alamo square is a highly desirable neighborhood similar to Hayes valley but a little more "hipster" and emergent. Famous establishments within one block include Nopa (restaurant), The Mill, BiRite (grocery), and The Independent (music).

Guests have loved their quick stay here. Private room and private bathroom, yet the kitchen, and dining area are shared with other adventurous guests around the world. From the house, Ocean beach is 4 blockers away, Golden Gate Park just across the street, yummy restaurants are within walking distance. Plenty of free street parking spots. Be mindful of noises from street and next door since it's located on major street and old fashion house, no sound proof.
Golden Gate Park and Ocean Beach are like this house's front and back yard.
This neighborhood is safe and recreational, young professions and young families are located here, for here has park, playgrounds, beach, museum, and great restaurants to enjoy.

The Ashbury Garden Studio is an oasis of calm located in the middle of the very dynamic and exciting Haight Ashbury neighborhood. Located next to the famous Grateful Dead home, the studio is just a block and a half from the intersection of Haight and Ashbury Streets. This is a garden apartment beneath a historic Victorian home, built from a Sears and Roebuck kit in 1896. The apartment has been completely remodeled but still retains a great deal of charm. Very close to public transportation.

Ideal for longer term stays! This clean, private, unique hotel room with shared hallway bath is a short walk to the Famous Cable Cars, Nob Hill, Public Transit, Union Square, Fisherman's Wharf, Grace Cathedral, AT&T Park, Polk Street, and more! You’ll love the place because of the location, the people, and the value! This single room with one double bed is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers who want to be in the heart of the action at a very reasonable price!
Our professional housekeepers clean the shared bathrooms in the hallways every day. The toilet and shower in the hall are both actually quite private as they have their own locking door on both the toilet and shower. There is a private sink in the room so you will not share the sink with others.
Our location is 1 block from China Town and 1 block from Union Square.
  • Small clean room in the center of SF. Good choice for a few days.

  • 325 is a perfect hotel, the location is unique, just in Union Square, the city center. The room was very clean, big enough and I found everything I need. Plan the day while sipping coffee at the white lacquer dining table of this stylish, second-floor flat in a Victorian home. Orange textiles, colorful ceramics, and board games are eclectic accents amid minimalist furnishings and pale hardwood floors.
Private studio flat on the second floor of a duplexed home with one flight of steps to get to the entrance and two more to get into the door. Street unmetered parking or a space can be made available nearby for an additional fee.
Situated between the heights and sites of Bernal Hill, known for its stunning views, the studio is close to shops, cafes, and restaurants, including some of the best taquerias in town. The Mission District is also nearby.
  • The apartment is very comfortable. everything is thought out to the smallest detail, in the kitchen there is absolutely everything necessary for cooking. very cool that the washing machine and dryer in the apartment. The apartment is clean and cozy. next to an incredible park, from which a beautiful view of the city. Thank you Jan and Bernard for everything:)

  • The stay at Jan apartment was really awesome. Jan is a really nice and friendly guy who will help you out if you have any troubles in SF. We appreciated the cleanliness a lot. In fact, we were the third people to stay in Jans apartment after he has done a renovation, so everything was really new. Much appreciated! Hope to come back one day. BR Tobias

  • A lovely home base to explore a great city. Highly recommended!

    Colleen2017-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • This studio feels like the reveal in an HGTV design and renovation show - it's that well finished and decorated. It's extremely well laid out for the size with a queen, plenty of closet space, a comfy futon, upgraded everything, washer/dryer, dishwasher, two kinds of coffee maker, etc. The hosts were super responsive. The towels were fluffy, spare toiletries available and they even provided bathrobes! Not only was there every condiment you could need, they also provided English muffins, juice, milk, and UNBELEVABLY yummy Snickerdoodles!! They also provided several puzzles and games. Location: Delightful neighborhood with loads of parks nearby (some with amazing views), great restaurants (our faves were Blue Plate and Taqueria), tons of coffee shops, & bars that ranged from holes in the wall to hipster. Catching the 49 bus around the corner was an easy straight shot to Ghirardelli Square, or the BART a couple blocks further to Fisherman's Wharf. As Jan warned us, on-street parking nearby was difficult but not impossible to find, and my friend who took the SFO Airporter shuttle had an easy door-to-door ride. No car was used or needed once we arrived - mine stayed in one spot on the street for 3 nights. Only drawback, and it was a VERY minor one, was that sometimes you could hear the hosts moving about in the apt. above the studio. Didn't bother us at all (esp. since they were gone most of the time), but it was noticeable. There are 21 stairs to the front door, if that's a consideration for you - we considered it GOOD for us! As my friend told me when we left, and I wholeheartedly concur, we could absolutely see ourselves staying here again on a trip to SF!

    Julie2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Jan's place is great... adorable in fact. I found it very comfortable for two adults. We brought our dogs and I liked that the apartment was on the second floor so my dogs didn't bark at every dog passing by. The kitchen had everything we needed. Jan stocked the fridge with the essentials - milk, creamer (thank you!), coffee, orange juice, English muffins. Enough to get us started - especially for a coffee addict like me. The bed was super comfortable. I couldn't tell if it was a queen or full sized bed, but it was enough room for two adults to fit comfortably. The bathroom was roomy enough as well. Everything is brand new - so it all works. The water pressure is fine. We'd definitely stay here again (and we will). The neighborhood has a lot to offer for food. We tried the curry pizza place a few blocks away which was pretty good. If you're looking for a place near the mission or a safe place to stay in SF that you can walk around and get places... this is a great choice. :)

    Babs2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed for a month and really loved my stay. The flat was compact, yet very efficient and looked and felt spacious. I was concerned about having the bed so close to the fridge, but it was a very quiet fridge. Everything was so comfortable about the space. The walk through the neighborhood was always enjoyable. I commuted everyday via a walk to the 24th and Mission Street BART stop and then it was only 3 quick stops to Market and Powell Streets. Nearby on Mission, I enjoyed a few nightly stops at great neighborhood bars - Virgil's and The Royal Cuckoo. And Safeway was a short walk- with great views on the way back home. Thanks Jan and Bernard for a wonderful stay. I wish I had San Francisco on my schedule again soon...but you'll certainly hear from me again someday.

Don't find just any place; book one in the heart of SF where you'll enjoy looking at the stars on your breathtaking balcony! Comes w/ 2 rooms, TV w/ free Netflix, full kitchen (fridge, microwave, stove/oven, dishes), 2 bathrooms (shared w/ other guests), free/easy street parking, easy access from SFO (14 min drive) and to downtown SF (15 min drive, 3 min walk to T Muni line to downtown). Front room comes w/ queen bed & twin loft bed, & back room comes w/ full futon. Easy, keyless self check-in.
You're two bedrooms are connected, and you will need to go through one to get to the other from the balcony or to the kitchen and bathrooms (as seen in the pictures). You also have a space heater in your room so that you can control your temperature. Whether you are coming in the summer or the winter, you will enjoy the weather here in San Francisco as it is usually between 60 and 75 degrees, making your balcony a very enjoyable experience all year round. There is nothing better than after a day of enjoying the sites to be able to come back and sit under the stars and see the beautiful views of SF on a back deck!
Your stay will be in the Bayview District. It's a historic community with a lot of amazing character and people. You can look up more info online if you'd like to learn more.
  • Our stay at Sean's was great. He let us stay at his home with a last minute booking which was great! The room is super spacious and it has an awesome deck! Parking on the street was easy breezy to find. All went super well! Thanks again.

    Aaron2017-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Let me start with the positives. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean. The hosts were friendly and accommodating. It’s pretty cheap for the San Francisco area. The negatives are it’s cheap for a reason. The location is shady at best. I witnessed a drug deal happen on the block we were staying on, streets were filthy and lots of trash and even a used condom on the ground. Not a place I’d ever bring children. There was a mechanical failure on the outside door that locked out other members staying at the location and I was unpleasantly awoken at 215 am to let other guests in that were pounding on the door to be let in. Overall it was an experience. The hosts were good but I unfortunately will not be staying again and will opt for a hotel next time.

    Ciaran2019-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay at Sean's place. The house was neat and thoughtfully organised. Parking was of no issue and both, Sean and Selah, were always in contact to answer our questions or help make our stay as pleasant as possible. I highly recommend Sean's place.

  • We had a wonderfull time at Todd’s place. We stayed there for 6 weeks. The bedroom is nice and cozy. It’s an excelent space with a view of the Bay Bridge. He cleans the room every week. The neighborhood is excelent, well located and close to the main points of interest in San Francisco. The description of his home is consistent with the reality. Todd is a gentleman and gave us tips on getting around San Francisco. He picked us up at the airport which helped us a lot.

  • My wife and i stayed with Todd in his Penthouse for 5 weeks. Todd is a wonderful, down to earth person. Todd picked us up from the airport and dropped us to the airport on leaving. The Penthouse was beautiful and we had a wonderful time staying there. Anything we wanted within the penthouse Todd provided, very comfortable penthouse and relaxing place. My wife and i have already told Todd that we would stay with him on our next visit to San Francisco. To all people looking for a beautiful apartment owned by a wonderful and pleasant owner please stay with Todd. Our exceptions from staying in an apartment was hugely exceeded by staying with Todd.

  • Honestly, one of the best Airbnbs I have ever experienced. Great space, great neighborhood, walking distance from anything you could ever need. Todd is a fantastic host 10/10 would recommend!

  • I have just returned from a month in San Francisco and I had an amazing experience. Todd proved to be an excellent host. He picked me up from the airport upon arrival and directly showed me a grocery store to get some supplies. The apartment was just as described on the listing. Clean, spacious, comfortable.

  • AWESOME. Everything was better than described, this room is special for people who want to sleep well, no unwanted noises, in a great location, the amenities are THE BEST: sauna, hottub and outdoor pool...couldn´t tire of using them. Todd is by far the best host I know I´ll ever cross paths with. It was as being welcomed by a friend who took care of my every need, made me feel totally at home and was in charge of my safety and well being at all times without at any rate feeling intruded. Can´t wait to come back!!!

  • Todd was an amazing host, and I would recommend his apartment to anyone looking to stay in SF. I stayed for 3 months and really wish I could have stayed longer. The room is just as described - it is clean, has great lighting, and is connected to a private bathroom with all the amenities you need. The building itself is in a very central location - less than 5 min walk to the pier, and 2 min walk to the Transbay Terminal. Todd cleaned the room and washed the towels very often, and maintained excellent communication each time he came over. He is an extremely nice host and a great person to have a conversation with. When I come back to the city, I will definitely stay with him again. Thank you Todd!

  • Todd is the best landlord ever! He treats guests as friends and the job as a career. Everything about the apartment was wonderful and I had everything I needed. I loved the walk-in closet and the sunny bedroom and bathroom (perfect natural lighting for applying makeup). The TV and Bose speaker in my room was great. The living room has recently updated Bluetooth connected surround speakers, a giant TV and Apple TV. I feel like Todd genuinely cares about his guests, he offers to pick you up and drop you off at the airport. I ended up becoming friends with him : ) Would definitely recommend his place to all my friends who's visiting SF!

Quiet furnished room in a fully remodeled corner home in the Excelsior district of San Francisco. Enjoy the diverse culture of this upbeat area. Great location to begin your journey to embrace this cities beauty....
Newly remodeled duplex home with hardwood floors throughout. All the amenities of home are here. Ideal location to get anywhere you want in the city within a reasonable time. San Francisco is considered a micro-climate area and no better weather than the Excelsior district where it is more times than not, sunny. For your stay I provided a very clean room with a full size or queen size daybed (depending on your choice or height), closet and dresser. Towels and extra linen can be located in the closet. The bathroom is updated, with great water pressure and most importantly, clean. Guests will enjoy the living area with truly spectacular views of Diamond Heights district and Sutro Tower. Will there be WIFI? Yes, there is. There is a strong network within the house, and you are provided the password upon check-in. I am located about a ten minute bike/15 minute jog to MacLaren Park, the second-largest park in SF, after Golden Gate Park. I am also close to the popular Mission District/Valencia St. area. We have no restrictions on parking, this is not common for many areas of the city. You can park all day without worrying.
Madrid is a street located in the Excelsior district of San Francisco. It is in an area I like to call the “Foreign Streets” because all the streets in that area are named after foreign places. It is a residential street. It is a diverse, quaint and an up and coming area of the city. It is 2 blocks from Mission St. which has an abundance of stores and restaurants. In the vicinity is Excelsior Playground and McLaren Park (If you're into running, biking or just taking a walk).
  • Had a great stay at Ricks! Beautiful apartment, room was perfect, entire space spotless clean. Great neighborhood with lots of food and drink options nearby, plus an excellent park with fantastic views. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

  • Rick was great! Everything was as described. Very clean and nice. I needed a hair dryer and Rick provided that for me before I checked in. Rick was very helpful and nice. I mostly needed somewhere to sleep and eat after being out for the entire day and this was a nice chill place to go back to. The dog was sweet too. It was my first Airbnb and I really enjoyed my stay. Would definitely stay here again.

Mingle and share with fellow travelers in an environment rich with experience.
You will be sharing this space with me and other Airbnbers! Three other private rooms are listed in addition to this one and the space is a tranquil retreat for travelers alike.
In town you can hear music at various venues every night of the week and the renowned Frank Lloyd Wright Civic Center is a 5 minute drive away. San Francisco is only a 20 minute drive South and Sonoma, the wine country, is 30 minutes North. The beach town of Bolinas is an hour away and is a scenic drive or bus ride to the coast. There are many hiking and biking trails close by with beautiful views including one just at the end of the street around a scenic, bridged island surrounded by a waterway. The immediate neighborhood is quiet and friendly and enjoyable to stroll.
  • The room looked mostly like he photo, although even bigger in person with nicer bedding. It's really quite nice. Mathias is warm, friendly, and welcoming, and tried to be accommodating, even to an old curmudgeon like I was. He provides coffee, tea and even organic oatmeal for breakfast, which I didn't have but which felt generous. Overall there's a sense of generosity about the stay, including the invitation to do laundry, which I did appreciate, and just the general vibe Mathias imbues the house with. The only reason I couldn't give it a better rating isn't the fault of the space but my particular circumstances. I came right after a silent meditation retreat and did not anticipate it would be so noisy. Within the first hour of my arrival, Mathias was in the living room singing and playing (guitar) a Beatles medley to other guests. I went out for a while and when I came back a few hours later, he and a friend were in the garage out back, to which my room was nearest, jamming on drums, guitar, and vocals. The door was closed but it was still quite loud. But it was only 8pm so I didn't want to complain. But when I thought the door was open I did go ask them to close it and Mathias said they would just stop and was genuinely kind about it. People talking in the kitchen was right outside my room. Again, no big deal if you're not coming from total silence. In the morning - before 6:30am! - someone was doing laundry, also very close to my room, so that woke me up. Maybe not the best idea. I should have realized that with such a full house, it would not be the quiet I'd be looking for, so it's my fault, really. But I'm just letting prospective guests know in case they too want a more peaceful place. A different room might be more secluded from the hustle and bustle of the house.

  • This was a great find. Mathias and Hannah are friendly and welcoming but also gave us our space to do our thing. Being able to use the washer and dryer was so helpful for our trip. The location is really convenient and San Rafael is a sweet town, with easy access to the beauty of the area and the city. Also, key, the bed was very comfortable. Thanks Mathias and Hannah, hopefully we will see you again on a future trip. Best to you both.

  • Great place to stay for the epicenter. Bed was super comfortable and nice view off the garden. It was our first time staying in an air BnB with other residents so that was interesting. Mathias and his girlfriend were very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely recommend this place.

    Gwen2016-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • My parents stayed at Mathias' house for 8 nights and they only told me positive things about their stay. He is very nice and friendly. We can only recommend to stay there and if my parents come visit again, they would definitely want to stay at his house again! :)
