Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Dickinson County

It was our first time visiting the Okoboji area. We loved our stay. We had 3 families in our group. The kids loved having the basement all to themselves. It was so nice having the dock to pull the boat up to each day, and for the kids to fish off of as well. The hosts were very friendly & offered many suggestions for places to visit/eat. The kitchen was equipped with all the necessary equipment needed for cooking, although we spent most of our day on the water and ate at various places in the area. Fun to boat right up to eat your meals from the water. That was an experience the kids loved! We were nervous with the recent floods that the water conditions wouldn't allow for boating/swimming activities. We did find it nice that given the 5mph limit on the water the kids could swim safely from the dock as well as out in the water with minimal waves. It was like we had the lake to ourselves! The visit during the week probably helped with that too?!? Definitely recommend!

Jana was a great host - very responsive and helpful. The house felt very comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. The beach is not really walkable from the house (at least not with all the lake gear), but Jana generously allowed us to use her golf cart - which was so great! We would definitely stay here again with our family.

I choose this cabin on the lake, looking for a quiet place with a beautiful view. We celebrated my parents 56 wedding anniversary. It was a perfect getaway for family time.

We traveled to Okoboji for the Midwest Country Music Awards which was held at The Roof Garden in Arnold’s Park. Our band was nominated for 2024 “Band of The Year.” The location was perfect. Close to everyone yet peaceful. Parking was a little tricky but we made due. Cooked a few great meals. The price was great and the home overall worked great for us. The grill isn’t a “grill” if you you’re thinking a BBQ grill. It’s a griddle but they have plenty of nice appliances to use including crockpot. A nice add would be a some patio furniture on the deck for relaxing outside (weather was perfect for our stay. 5 out of 5 stars. Unique house. Would stay here again. Thank you!

Beautiful home with unique nature surroundings nothing else like it in the area

The house was clean and had plentiful space for our family during Easter week and well supplied with essentials. Okoboji is a resort area and the season hadn't quite started yet, but the lake is nearby and walking trails are great for walking a dog. There are bike trails nearby too. Back to house - it has two living rooms up and downstairs, large kitchen area. But for me, personally, was the lanai which we used for Easter brunch and enjoyed sitting out there listening to music with a glass of wine. Wonderful place, and in-season, it would be even better.

Great location in town, nice to have driveway parking, updated kitchen. A nice cottage & a great host!

Seriously the best Air B and B house we’ve ever stayed at. There were so many little thoughtful things around the house that we had everything we needed and things that put our mind at ease (like carbon monoxide detectors and a baby gate for the loft). We really appreciate the family things (pack and play, high chair, kids dishes, games, books). That saved us so much room in our car! It was clean, cozy, and cute. There were comfy blankets and the beds were soft, didn’t hurt my back! I’ve been to so many Air bnb’s that barely have anything in the kitchen, this was NOT the case! We cooked every meal and the kitchen had everything we needed. I appreciated it all! Definitely would recommend and would stay again!

The house was very cozy and at a good distance from all the restaurants as well as the lake! We had a great time!

Kelsey‘s condo was the perfect place for our family to stay in Okoboji! It had everything that we needed and it had great views of the lake as we sat on the deck. The water passes were a highlight, especially for my granddaughter.

A true five-star experience. The place was clean, had everything we needed, and was in a great location. We had three generations of family ages 21-70 and everyone had what they needed. We even used the water park passes on a rainy day. 😄

Great place in a convenient location. It’s off the lake, but walkable to most of Arnold’s Park which is nice.

Very pleasant stay! Everything was within walking distance! Wish the pool would have been open tho. The lights were a little tricky to figure out but we made do with what was available! Definitely looking forward to next year!

The staff saved our lives. Our camper had a major malfunction and without their help on a holiday we would not have made it out easily. Everyone was so friendly and the grounds are super beautiful! Cannot wait to go back. If you are tent camping and expect to sleep in they did start ground maintenance very early with mowers and such so that is the only downside.

We look forward to staying here again next summer! It’s such a great location and a perfect spot for camping!

Can't say enough good things about my stay. Staff was on the spot as soon as I arrived to greet me and relay written procedures. It's a truly rustic experience, exactly what I wanted. I felt completely free to conduct my days as I saw fit. It was pre-season for them so they were busy getting things set up for summer. We stayed out of each other's way unless communications were needed, in which case they were almost instantaneous in response. Autumn the intern was especially great. Personal note: It was just me and my two cats in a space built for a dozen. I rearranged and provided my own "kitchen" while my cats went bazonkers over the exposed walkable rafters and high windows. Listening to the wildlife, including deer and wild turkeys every morning, birdsong aplenty, a quick walk to the shore for wave sounds and best of all, an easy launch for my fishing kayak. I did most of my fishing at night, as these are recreational lakes open for all use. That suited me just fine. I'll be back!
