Lakeview Lodge - Shortheath Water

HannahRating, 5 stars8 months ago
Lovely lodge, even more spacious than the photos show! Very clean and plenty of amenities for cooking etc. The lake was peacful and very centrally located for things to do in the area such as bike rides, Conkers, furnace museum etc. A good Coop a few mins walk away and bigger supermarkets a short drive. The bistro on site, run by Joanne did the most amazing brunches and HUGE slabs of homemade cake. I wish we had discovered this before our last day! Highly recommend a meal by the lake side. They do beer and wine too but its only open until 4pm so make the most of it during your stay!

This is a lovely little studio with everything we needed for a weekend away. Great base for visiting the area and lots of walking trails close by. The village has 3 pubs and the view from the studios are stunning. The hosts were fantastic. They were very contactable and provided bread, juice, milk, tea, coffee etc for arrival. Anything we needed we knew we could just ask. Will defo be staying again.

Delightful 1-bed shepherd's hut with log burner

AliceRating, 5 stars4 days ago
We had a lovely stay at Laura’s Shepherd’s hut. The views were amazing. The hut is pretty well equipped and the addition of the wood fire pizza oven was good fun but could do with a rolling pin to make rolling the pizzas a bit easier. The hut was very clean and Laura was a responsive host. Would recommend for anyone who wants beautiful views and nice walks in the Peak District.

Shepherds Rest, Peak District, Romantic & Cosy

JoshuaRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Shannon's Shepherd's hut was absolutely everything we could have hoped for. We booked a night there for a birthday away and Shannon ensured we had a lovely stay and was accommodating of our all needs. The hut was cosy, clean and had everything we needed. The location was perfect and allowed us to have a day out in the Peak District. Check in was easy and we would fully recommend a stay here to anyone considering it. Thank you again, Joshua and Celia

Delightful shepherds hut with amazing views.

PatrickRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Fantastic one night stay here! Sharon was very helpful in finding the location and offering a mobile number to easily communicate. The hut was very well equipped with kettle, microwave, hot plates, games, folding table, armchairs and a very comfy bed! A peaceful location to spend time at watching the horses and sheep in the field next to the hut. Bonfires allowed too! A great pub in a short walking distance! Will definitely be back here

Sunrise Garden

DeanRating, 5 stars6 days ago
Marcin and his family were great hosts – always easy to reach and happy to help with anything we needed. Really friendly and welcoming from the start. The accommodation itself was lovely – cosy and comfortable, but still had plenty of space to be practical. The outdoor area was a real highlight: completely private and shut off from neighbours, so it felt like a peaceful little hideaway. The jacuzzi was a great touch, made even better by the outdoor projector – perfect for relaxing evenings. There are a few nice walks nearby with some beautiful countryside to explore right on your doorstep – ideal if you’re after a bit of fresh air without venturing too far. That said, you're still only about a 15-minute drive from Barnsley, which has some good restaurants – Favela’s in particular is well worth a visit. Overall, a really relaxing and enjoyable stay. Would happily come back!

The lodge was very clean and Elizabeth was a lovely host and went above and beyond for us. Would highly recommend and for the price is is amazing! Plus watching the little lambs jumping around the field outside the window was an added bonus! we will be returning and recommending to friends and family!

Luxury Shepherd's Retreat with Hot Tub

KerryRating, 5 stars1 day ago
We had SUCH a lovely, relaxing stay here! You can tell the Shepherds hut has been lovingly designed, with every space cleverly thought out and to a very high standard! It was gorgeous inside and out, with everything we needed for our stay. Sandra was a wonderful host and on hand with any questions. We enjoyed cooking and eating on the patio, watching the ducks and admiring the view. The bed was super comfy and the hot tub was perfection! Just what we needed to switch off for the weekend, already can’t wait to come back! Thank you so much.

Woodlands Shepherd Hut offGrid & Woodfired hot tub

LeilaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
The place is so cute and cosy, everything was perfect! Nicola was very patient considering we got lost on the way and she stayed on the line until we found the place (our fault for not being great with directions even though she sent us very clear instructions beforehand! haha). I would definitely recommend will probably stay there again in future! Thanks Nicola!

Rural Retreat In Peak District National Park Hills

EleanorRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights in April and it was the perfect weekend getaway. The hut is so cute and has everything you could need. It was warm, clean and so cozy. The views are spectacular and we had some adorable tiny lambs in the field opposite us. Great outdoor space, we loved sitting outside round the fire pit and enjoying the views with a drink. The place is perfectly located for great walks. We recommend the dragons back trail. The host was fantastic, very responsive, answered all my questions and let us check in early. I would thoroughly recommend the whole experience!

The New House Hut - Mercaston

ClareRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Great stay, very peaceful in a private location on the farm. The Shepard's hut was small but had everything you needed. Went to The Cock in Muggington one night (nice but quite expensive, 40 mins walk to the pub from the hut up the road) and cooked one night on the stove and bought our own BBQ - this worked really well. The fire pit was awesome and easy to light. Super hot water, nice after a days walking. Totally recommend if you want to get away from it all and be on the edge of the Peak district, and thank you for the milk and bubbles!

Bertie's Retreat, Shepherds Hut

JoeRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Place was immaculate and perfect if you have dogs with lots of walks on the doorstep. Only thing that I would say is that I would have liked the hot tub use included with the stay price. I understand this is clearly advertised as an extra on the page so it wasn’t a shock but we felt like £70 for 2 night was excessive when already spending upwards of £300 for the initial stay. Other than that it was a beautiful place with great surrounding towns perfect for a little weekend away.

“The Goods Van at Stoop Farm”

ShonaRating, 5 stars1 day ago
We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay in The Goods Van at Stoop Farm. The views were breathtaking with easy access to public walking routes. The van itself included everything we needed and more. The bathroom facilities was roughly 1 minute walk away which was fine - a spacious area which was private for us during our stay. Thanks to the time of year there was lots of cute lambs prancing about the fields which was an additional treat. Richard was a great host, proactive in making initial contact with details and very welcoming when we met in person. Would definitely recommend and we’re looking forward to planning another visit.
