River Oak House

Curl up by the fire and read Twilight, then take an evening stroll to Belle's house or to St Helen's historic downtown and hear the bells ring from the courthouse tower, both just a few blocks away. The harbor, where sailboats can be seen bobbing in the marina, is also a short walk, where Sand Island can be visited via the free water taxi. Looking back at the gray cliffs just as Lewis & Clark did when they first sailed up the Columbia River, you can just feel the history in this area.

The Carpenter's Cottage

The carpenter's cottage is decorated in vintage woodworking and logging tools that have been used for several generations in our family. Rainier has a rich history of logging, lumber and woodworking. Some tools have been found nearby. Enjoy a peaceful country setting with deer, birds, occasional bobcat, squirrels, raccoons, occasional elk, but is a short walk to town. Watch deer munch on apples and relax in the shade as you walk around our 14 acres or enjoy them from your windows.

Batwater Station Tiny Cabin on the Columbia River

Experience an otters view of the Columbia river at the cabin which is remote from the other buildings. It includes heat, good internet, several streaming TV channels and trundle bed that makes into king size bed with cabinets and cold water sink. Your retreat includes gazebo with propane barbecue, fire pit and outhouse. Bedding, cookware, dishes, oil, coffee, tea, coffee pot, etc. are provided as well. Access to pier house includes heated shower and bathroom along with full kitchen.

Studio apartment above a garage, BEHIND the pictured house. Private entrance, off-street parking; 325 sq feet including full kitchen, tub and shower, queen bed (memory foam), dining table, TV. Located on lovely Lake Sacajawea with its tree-filled park. Walk or bike the perimeter (3+ miles) or part of the lake. House is a short distance from the hospital on the opposite side of the lake. Many of our guests are "travelers," medical professionals working on short-term contracts.
