Come enjoy the river at this spacious, waterfront house! The house has a big porch with a propane grill, Adirondack chairs and a table to dine al fresco or enjoy your morning coffee. The hammock, firepit, and yard games (corn hole etc.) are also delightful. The house is great for birdwatchers - we regularly see bald eagles, ospreys, and blue herons. There is great fishing off the dock as well. Waterviews from the living room, office kitchen, and two of the bedrooms.

We're not quite ready to retire, so we've decided to share it with other Colonial Beach travelers. Come enjoy this comfortable cottage in this laid back river town. This private home is spacious, bright, open, and welcoming. The second floor has 2 master suite bedrooms. One bedroom with a king bed, jacuzzi tub and shower plus a queen bed with a tub. The living room has convertible sofas and air mattresses. The home sleeps up to 10 and has lots of storage. Perfect for families and groups, but no parties please! We have a strict NO pets rule because one of the owners has life threatening allergies.

We loved our family stay at the Saint Albans. The house fit all 13 of us comfortably, and it was in a great location. The kids (and adults) loved playing in the backyard. In addition to the stay being great and the house being well-stocked with everything we needed, the owner went above and beyond in assisting us with retrieving something that was left behind after checkout. Thanks Felicia! We would love to stay again.

Everything was exactly as listed. Easy check in/check out. House was beautiful. Wish we could have stayed longer. Easy commute to DC.

The house and location was beautiful. The shower was absolutely amazing,my favorite part of the house. Host always responded quickly and everything was perfect as pictured.

The exterior of the house features a two-story design with a light grey facade and white accents. A large oval window is centered above the entrance. The driveway leads to a double garage, while a well-maintained lawn and a weeping willow tree enhance the front yard.

The house was amazing. Very spacious and cozy. The description of the house is very on point. There were even Christmas decorations up which added ambiance considering we traveled there for Christmas. We did have to move a few out of harms way(the little kids), but all in all the decorations added flair to the space. There wasn’t much interaction, because everything was great. But we were kept informed of the necessary information.

The River House: A private waterfront oasis…

This was our family's second stay at The River House. We had another relaxing and fun week! Kayaking across to the state park is one of our favorite things to do there. We also enjoy shopping and eating in Leonardtown. We had one rainy day, but reading on the day bed with a beautiful view (in spite of the weather) and working on a puzzle were an enjoyable way to spend the day. We hiked out to Calvert Cliffs State Park one day and enjoyed lunch on Solomons Island on the way back. John's pet friendly Airbnb is such an awesome place to vacation with our dogs. One of them loves to fetch her floating stick off the little beach area and play frisbee in the yard (bring a long leash that you can tie to the badminton net poles). Our other dog loves basking in the sun in the yard and on the deck. There are so many great things about this place, but the sunsets alone are worth the stay!

Fabulous Private Potomac Waterfront Retreat

This was a return trip for our family to Sylvia’s Potomac house. Its close enough to DC to enjoy it but far enough for peace and quiet. We have a large family and require wheelchair access and she was very accommodating to our changing needs and had the beds configured as we asked when we arrived. The location is peaceful but jot so remote you cant get delivery services. The house is always well stocked. Sylvia makes staying away from home easier for our family.
