Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Central Hawke's Bay District

Came for our honeymoon for a simple getaway and this was perfect! Amazing views, not far from pubs/towns and was overall just peacefully perfect. Would definitely book to stay again!!

We had the absolute best time down in the Hawkes Bay staying at Diane’s place, it was one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed, everything was so spotless, clean and beautifully set out, the outdoor seating areas overlooking the views of the Hawkes Bay were absolutely beautiful, especially down by the pool, the property is located so close to some of the most gorgeous wineries, and the beautiful town that is Havelock North, Diane was a pleasure to talk to and would always respond so quickly to any queries and messages, I would recommend her and her home time and time again, we would love to come back here again!!!

What a great week we had at Nicky’s! The architectural home was really cool, and a perfect setup for our family. The real gem is the property - there is so much to do and explore! There’s a whole separate area down a small hill from the house that is a magical step into the lovely surroundings; so much local flora and fauna to discover! Great house with kids as there was no lack of screen-free entertainment. Would go back in a heartbeat!

As other reviewers have shared, Ro is a stellar host. She and her family were away at a wedding so our paths didn’t cross in person but her communication was warm, welcoming, and so helpful. Our kids (2.5 and 4) loved waking up early to feed the chickens, share an apple or a carrot with the horse, watch the sheep, play in the sandbox and treehouse, swing on the various swings, nibble at the garden, etc. A note on what to pack: we were surprised as Canadians at how chilly it got in the evening compared to anywhere else we’d stayed on the North Island in the previous three weeks. The fire is cosy and delightful but we were glad we’d packed some merino layers! 10/10 recommend this Airbnb, especially if you have children.

We totally enjoyed our stay at Long Island Cottage. Jess is a great host, very friendly and a great communicator. The cottage had everything we needed, and more! From the little welcome note to the fresh flowers and treats that Jess left in the kitchen, we felt very welcome as soon as we arrived. In a very private, peaceful location, the cottage was perfect for our family stay. Thoroughly recommend Long Island Cottage as a place to stay, and we would definately stay again. Thank you Jess, for opening your lovely cottage up for us, and for all you did preparing for our stay, we very much appreciated it. 🙂🙂

Fabulous stay. We chose Rural retreat as we were going to a wedding near by and it was Easter. Very well appointed and very comfortable. Thanks Claire for making our time there so relaxing and easy.

Fantastic house nestled under the stunning cliffs and just a short walk away from beautiful Kairakau beach. This was our second stay here and it was another wonderful stay. There is plenty of room in the house for 3 couples with lovely big living/dining areas and a spacious kitchen, and having three bathrooms is a real luxury. Stephanie was very responsive and helpful. We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a long weekend escape at the beach with friends or family!

We had an incredible stay, and would happily come back again! The Enchanted Retreat is just beautiful, feels luxurious and has all the amenities you could need. The hosts are great - communicative and responsive. I would highly recommend a stay here!
