It was a wonderful place to visit. The house felt very welcoming, and everything you could think of that you'd need was available to you. 10/10 would recommend this to others. This place was a perfect getaway after a busy day in Houghton! It has really comfy living room furniture and it was perfect for our family of four to relax in. I particularly loved the interesting book collection! It was also well stocked and had everything you needed to get started. Definitely a great family getaway cabin if you’re thinking about traveling to the UP!

The Quaint Chassell Escape

LindsayRating, 5 stars5 days ago
We had a great time and are already looking forward to returning—this place is such a gem! We booked last minute, and Kara and Erik were incredibly accommodating. The home is charming with an open, airy feel and lots of natural light, especially from the cozy front sunroom. The kitchen layout was perfect for making dinner, and the space had everything we needed to feel right at home. We appreciated the mudroom on rainy days for leaving wet gear, towels, and shoes. We brought out bikes and were pleasantly surprised to find storage space in the outdoor shed. Parking was super convenient—we could pull right up to the back entrance to unload. Kara and Erik were fantastic hosts, and their welcome binder with local recommendations helped us explore. Pet friendly, peaceful, and thoughtfully designed—we’d absolutely stay again! Can’t wait to come back.

My husband and I needed a last minute place to stay over the past weekend. We wanted to stay in the L’Anise area, since we have a friend that lives in the town, and this was the best option. The unit is clean, has an amazing view of Lake Superior and is very spacious. I was very impressed with the unit overall. I would gladly book again!

Cozy Lakeside Cottage #2 Newly Remodeled

DebbieRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Our nostalgic get-away was just exactly what we both needed. Our parents are from Houghton and Chassell were the birthplace of our dad and mom so we were returning to where they were born and raised This cottage was nearly perfect for us- It was very comfortable, clean and cozy and was exactly as described so no surprises. Small yet comfortable and appointed with enough amenities. The cottage is a substantial walk from the parking area and the only actual bed is upstairs so semi mobile people may find it difficult. But we did OK and loved the cottage anyway. Had to call the owner about an issue and she responded immediately. Owner is a champion - would definitely recommend her And her property.

CedarHurst Lodge

DianneRating, 5 stars10 months ago
If you ever had a lake cabin in the north, you will love this place. We had a blast swimming and catching bluegills off of the dock. We also enjoyed using the Jon boat and caught a large crappie trolling from the canoe. It was very peaceful and private, and the lake is quite beautiful. There was no gas grill but there is a large Weber grill. We used the hot dog forks to make S’mores over the fire pit.

The Bunkhouse at Pinecrest Northwoods

JenniferRating, 5 stars8 months ago
We had the most magical time staying on Pinecrest Northwoods to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday! The cabin was so charming & cozy. We enjoyed walking around the woods. The sauna house was a dream & so relaxing. The stargazing at night was unreal, we could see the Milky Way & were in awe! Michael & Madeleine were the sweetest hosts, the kind of souls that feel like your friends. Would absolutely stay here again the next time we’re in the area!

Rachel’s site was beyond description! The beauty of the setting could only be explained as a piece of Heaven! Beyond exceptionally immaculate- the yard, “Coop Deville”, “Backwords Bathhouse “,”Krooked Kitchen”… can only be spoken of- You have to see this!!! Please, please, trust my words, there is not one issue out of sorts . I would have stayed so much longer had time allowed. One of the most special gifts was a momma deer with her newly born fawn ( still has its spots) just lazily teaching her young’n hour to forage. Don’t miss this chance!!! It’s amazing!
