The Mountain Camp @ Mt Kinabalu

As a glamping novice, we had an amazing two night stay at the Mountain Camp hosted by SK and his wife. SK and his wife were friendly, easy to communicate with and gave us clear instructions. There were both tent and cabin set up. Both were squeaky clean and well maintained. The outdoor area where we prepared our meals were adequately equipped too. Our 2.5 year old son loved to hang out there, under close supervision. Situated in Mesilau, we woke up to the majestic view of Mt Kinabalu. There is also a beautiful stream just a stone’s throw away. The private and serene environment provides the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. The stargazing night was magical. SK and wife were attuned to our needs as a young family, and provided us a variety of suitable options to fully enjoy the quiet nature and its surroundings. We truly appreciate the place and would love to come back!

I really like Js home. The host is super nice and host even allow me to have a big gathering and of course we clean up after that. It’s the trust that we both build and as a good guest, I would t want to break the trust. The place is super walking distance to mydin. The house has no proper kitchen but it was already known to us and not a big issue for us. One recommendation for the host is to put up english/malay instruction rather than just chinese. But i have translator apps that helps. And in all, it was a pleasant and comfortable stay. Do send extra request (if needed) to the host and the host highly likely will try to accommodate. Highly recommended this place, but remember, NO PROPER kitchen, and if you NEED ONE, dont book this place and give bad review. The host will be more than happy to let you know what is in Js Home. If you really dont mind about the basic kitchen, this is the perfect place for you as it was for us! Thank you Js Home!
