Brilliant place and location. Amazing hosts with some nice personal touches. Can’t recommend it enough. Thank you!
A vast, grassy field is depicted, bordered by a line of evergreen trees. Rolling hills extend towards the horizon, where a clear blue sky meets distant views, suggesting the serene landscape of Cape Breton. A small body of water is visible along the greenery.

Big Harbour Hideaway

WandaRating, 5 stars10 months ago
Big Harbour Hideaway is situated on an inlet of the Bras D’Or Lake with little boating activity so it was quiet. The dock is very solid and does not move with the tide, there were four Adirondack chairs on the dock with a few more available near by. Across the inlet is a really nice view of gypsum cliffs. There were bald eagles and even a seal! The house felt comfy and was well stocked with toilet paper, paper towelling, tissue, garbage bags, pots and pans, cutlery, etc. The beds were quite comfortable and although there is no air conditioning the breeze off the water was all we needed to cool the bedrooms at night. Although the house is on a well there was plenty hot water and the water pressure was really good. It felt homelike and it doesn’t get better than that! There is no cable tv, but I believe you can hook up a device to it to watch movies or play games. There is a pretty serious Scrabble game on the coffee table. Baddeck is only 12-14 minutes away by car.
Two rustic farm buildings are situated amidst a serene green meadow, framed by a backdrop of trees. The structures display weathered wood exteriors and are surrounded by lush grass, set against a soft pastel sky during twilight.

Green Gables Farmhouse near Baddeck Bay

HughRating, 5 stars20 months ago
Green Gables is a beautiful place to spend a few days, close enough to Baddeck for takeaway pizza but far enough away for total peace and quiet. The house was warm, very comfortable and clean, the beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. It felt like we were in Anne of Green Gables!!!
A wooden deck overlooks a tranquil bay, framed by vibrant autumn foliage. Two modern chairs provide seating for guests to enjoy the expansive view of the water and distant hills, with a colorful sunset casting warm hues across the sky.

Cabot Trail Wilderness Cabin | The Canopy

MartinaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Anyone looking for peaceful rustic cabin camping, this is the place! Renee makes the most of tiny cabins, outfitting them with everything that one would need, with thoughtful extra touches. The description explained exactly what one would have, which was just what we wanted. We'd come back in a heartbeat any time we are up in Breton Island. Thank you, Renee and Marc, for making our 3-day stay so much fun!

A scenic view of the waterfront shows historic stone buildings aligned along the shore, with a stone archway serving as a focal point. A weathered wooden boardwalk leads along the water's edge, revealing patches of greenery and a tranquil sea under a cloudy sky.

Nicholson House

We had a wonderful time. The cottage was perfect for us and very accessible to everything we wanted to see and do. Baddeck is a great town. And we even learned how to pronounce it correctly!
Two red adirondack chairs are positioned facing a serene view of the Bras d’Or Lake, with sunlight reflecting off the water. A fire pit sits in the center, surrounded by a well-maintained grassy area, while trees and a distant shoreline complete the picturesque scene.

Charming Farmhouse with Sunset Views

KimberleyRating, 5 stars10 months ago
Lovely gem off the beaten path but still well situated to explore the entire island. Close to Sydney, Baddeck, golf courses and the Cabot Trail…no water access but a couple of beaches near by that were easy to get to. The views and breeze were amazing and we were lucky to have spectacular weather during our stay. Important to be comfortable with driving everywhere as it’s a bit removed from main towns but the description of the place and other reviews made it easy to get into the right mindset. Go and stay there! You won’t regret it!!!

The Lake House

MeghanRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
My husband and I had a wonderful stay in the float home. The view was beautiful!! We loved sitting out on the deck. We had a great meal at the restaurant across the street and were within walking distance to one of the best coffee shops we have been to in awhile. We would love to stay again! Kerianne was an excellent host - great communication and clear instructions.
