The house is very easy reachable via public transportation; the post-van is 5 minutes to go, with direct connection to St. Gallen (with an overall travel time of 30 minutes). The apartment itself is in the basement of an old Stickerhaus, that is an embroiderer house where once the famous embroidery of the region have been manufactured. We guarantee leisurely days in an unconventional place.

Birkenhof, Märli House

The Birkenhof is located in a secluded location in the middle of the Appenzellerland in Herisau. It is completely surrounded by meadows and forests and borders on various hiking trails. From here you can walk, hike, cycle and swim. The farm offers a magnificent and unobstructed mountain view of the Alpstein. The towns of Herisau, Appenzell and St. Gallen are close by. Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway with a lot of artistry. This house was built by our aunt who was a teacher, feminist and art lover. She travelled, painted and collected art from artist friends. You can definitely expect surprises if you stay in this beautiful home and explore her collection. That is of course, if you are not exploring the Alpstein mountains, enjoying specialities from Appenzell or doing sightseeing. We value guests who appreciate our property and keep it tidy.

Holiday cottage located on the sunny slope with beautiful views. After a short but somewhat steep walk to the bungalow, you can enjoy the view of the Alpstein with our local mountain, the Säntis, on a cozy terrace. There are many walking and hiking opportunities directly from the house. Please note: From the parking lot, you can walk relatively steeply up the hill to the beautifully located bungalow on the edge of the forest for about 100 m.

Enjoy relaxing days in the countryside near the famous viewpoint and popular excursion destination St. Anton in Oberegg. The charming two-story apartment has a cozy living-dining area connected to the kitchen. In addition, a bathroom. On the upper floor a large bedroom with a double bed and an extra bed, as well as another sleeping option next door. Heating is only heated with the tiled stove.
