Monte de São Jorge is a 1-hectare property located in the lower Alentejo region, 1 km from the village of Palheiros and 5 km from the village of Ourique. With a strong connection to horseback riding, the hill has a riding arena and horses. On the hill, we can enjoy the calm of the countryside, the landscape, the superb sunsets and the incredible starry skies. To the west, we can enjoy the Alentejo coast, and to the south, the Algarve, where we find magnificent beaches.

The House In the Hillsides

A traditional Portuguese cottage set in the mountains. Immersed by nature and flowing rivers. Set on the border of Aljentejo and the Algarve, the house is 20 minutes from Messines and less than 40 minutes from Portugal’s stunning beaches and Faro airport. If being in nature is your thing then the cottage is for you. We can happily suggest wild swimming spots and the best local hikes. Across the road is a beautiful river you can dip into on those hot Portuguese days!

Monte do Castelejo is composed of a group of three houses perfectly inserted in the rural landscape of Baixo Alentejo and which, in addition to good moments of leisure, intends to offer its guests the benefits of the peace and quiet of Alentejo. Monte also has a barbecue, swimming pool, parking and 100 hectares of relaxing landscape. You can book the entire space or book just one of our houses. The pool is shared by the two houses.
