Opende lies in the Frisian Forests. The airBNB is on our property on the border of Groningen and Friesland. Hiking and cycling can be done in the nearby nature reserves Alde Feanen, Bakkeveen, Beetsterzwaag and Lauwersmeer. A day in Ameland or Schiermonnikoog is also great to do. Culture can be gained in Groningen, Leeuwarden and Heerenveen (about 25 minutes). Surhuisterveen is about 2 km away and has a shopping center with supermarkets, restaurants and all kinds of shops. You must arrange breakfast yourself.

Located on the N358, you will be on the road again in no time for a visit to the Wadden Islands or the eleven cities in Friesland. We had a fantastic stay at Jikkestyn place! Communication was excellent and prompt. Accommodation was exactly as described- place was clean and tidy with the softest bed sheets. We loved the farm themed rooms and all the animal pictures! It was the perfect location for us to explore the surrounding area. Breakfast was fantastic and freshly served each morning. Highlight was how welcome we were made to feel. Our children had the BEST time helping out on the farm, especially helping with milking the cows. The farmers were fantastic with our children and went above and beyond with them. They thoroughly enjoyed exploring the farm and seeing all the animals. Another plus was the farm overalls provided for our children as it is a bit muddy amongst the cows- understandably!!! Our children are already asking to go back!

We had the great pleasure of staying in this beautiful accommodation in the water park. Check-in was straightforward and the place was easy to find. Our stay was perfect all around. The location right on the water is fantastically beautiful, the view from the terrace simply fantastic. The place itself is furnished to a high standard and very stylishly designed. You feel right at home. The kitchen is well equipped and we didn't lack anything. The hot tub and sauna are real highlights and have ensured maximum relaxation. We would love to come back anytime and can highly recommend the accommodation.

Very nice vacation home in a beautifully located vacation park. Sunny place, but with so much vegetation that you can sit privately on the large veranda. Inside small but nice, everything present and is nicely decorated. Park is nice on the water. Good contact with the landlord. I would definitely recommend this home to others.

We had a lovely stay at the farm. Even on hot summer days, it stayed nice and cool inside. Nice to sit among the animals and even get eggs from the chickens. When we indicated that we were missing something small, this was quickly arranged for us by Ida and Herman. As a result, we felt welcome. Recommended!

Delightful relaxing campsite! All kinds of bird and frog sounds. There is a lookout over the lake. A real nature camp. Quiet fellow campers. No noise pollution. The campsite is small. As a result, the location can be found. Comfortably made up beds. Nicely decorated, practical and quality/price for lower amount. I felt at home there.
